Arizona Part II: Using onX for Public Land Coyotes | The Last Stand S3:E8 | Desert Coyotes

Once Dustin and Geoff learn that a large rabbit die-off happened in their honey-hole from last season, it's time to break out onX and find some new spots. As they systematically work through Arizona looking for better coyote numbers, the guys get the full desert DIY experience, and come out with some good new coyote hunting spots and a whole truck load of memories.

  • Hey guys love the video as always. As a suggestion, it would be cool to show us on ONX how you setup with the wind direction on your stands. I know it's another thing to add to production but I feel like it would be really beneficial to know how you're hunting the wind and being able to utilize onX to show us would incorporate them more into your show. Keep up the great work.

  • That first area you hit is tough. Those dogs get called pretty regular by the locals including myself. They like to come in cautious and hang up in the 2-300 yds range. It’s not the first time they have heard that noise before. Good luck.

  • Maybe that black lab was someone's ranch dog. Some of my friends in AZ have dogs they don't even let in the house ever. They just feed them and they stay permanently outside. As a MN person that moved to AZ, it's very beautiful. Even if you don't get a coyote, it is so pretty (during the winter ha) you'll be amazed.

    • I've found at 150-200 yards a running coyote needs to be led 2-3 feet depending on high or medium gear. When using an AR 204 I could cut that lead down to 1-2 feet.

  • I can really get in a groove when watching your videos. When you said that you made about 80 stands in 4 days, it gave me a better idea of your pace ... when to move on ... when to change the call. Living in Florida, I rarely see coyotes that aren't neck deep in someone's garbage can, but what you do here carries over into other kinds of hunting. I hate sitting on a deer stand for 4 hours, usually motionless, freezing the gnocchies off. This would be my kind of hunting !!! On the move, studying the terrain and the behavior of the animal. I know it has to be a boot in the tail.

    • @@dansherwood9851 So your saying there would not be enough other animals for you to hunt if you didn't kill a bunch of Dogs that survive off of mostly small prey... To top it off it's not just about that or you would not be boasting of your coyote kills and posting videos of it as if it is something to be proud of... So I guess with that rational we should hunt all the predatory animals out there so we can have more prey for our greedy selves that have already caused the near elimination of several species around the world!

    • Educate ur self man if Troy. Without hunting and hunters providing 80% of the $ used for wildlife conservation all animals would be in a world of hurt. How much did you spend last year on conservation? Hunters help keep the balance where it should be rather than just talking about it.

      @dansherwood9851@dansherwood9851 Жыл бұрын
    • @@dansherwood9851 Oh, I thought it might have something to do with getting paid $$$ to kill Coyotes? It makes more sense rather, the hunting and man are the ones killing the animals either way, If not there would be no need for wild life conservation $$$ , Nature balances itself fine, It's Good old HOOMANS that cause the imbalances through over hunting and deforestation and encroachment, causing the problems in the first place.... Educate yourself perhaps... I have NO issue with hunting an animal for food or in some cases invasive species that once again MAN brought and released in areas they don't belong ,Like the pythons in the everglades reeking havoc on the the natural wildlife chain ecosystem, Once again MANS fault and to blame... Then you speak of the GAME hunters that pay for Trophy hunt's to help pay for wildlife conservation... Why... Because of poachers killing animals, So they have these Trophy hunts to pay for anti poacher's to guard the rest of the animals they are able to with armed men, Once again it rolls back to Trophy hunters killing animals or Kills for $$$ and most NOT FOR FOOD at all.. 🤔
