  • I went to school as a kid on a state road in the country where I live here in Southwest Missouri that was part of old Route 66. It always makes me a bit sad that 66 is gone as we knew it. Looks like we’re about to loose a whole lot more here in America now. Great rendering Jana. You caught the dying spirit of America.

  • Love it. Absolutely incredible detail in every area. The 'small' things like the cloth over the doorway, the nails in the roof where the planks are missing, the rust on the light fittings - definitely a masterpiece.

  • You always manage to tell such amazing stories in your dioramas. And usually you do ones where they’re side by side with a pre-tragedy and then the current one. I’ve seen this already mentioned in the comments abundantly, but you truly are a master of your craft. An artist that is leaps and bounds better than others. Amazing work.

You've captures the moment just before the woman's dog attacks the cats and she pulls out the gun and robs the man and the little girl of everything they have.. She takes their last coke cans and leaves them there with nothing..

  • I love your work, sitting here looking at it, I have tears running down my face.A couple of years ago I was an avid model and diorama builder,I had a wonderful collection that I was very proud of.I spent years of my life building and painting my models, well, to make a long story short, someone broke into my residence and stole my entire collection. It broke my heart,I was devastated, so much so that I've yet to have the heart or desire to build anything else.It still hurts me to this day,and when I think about it, all I can do is cry.

  • Wow! So good! Possibly the best diorama I've seen. The weathering was exceptional and the concept is really novel. I'd love to see him paint the models that he uses in the diorama. I could happily have watched the video if it was twice as long!

  • Really nice work there. Now, you might have missed a cool detail. Out on the drier portions of Route 66, that windmill would have pumped water up to a tank in the attic, or on a stand. The overflow of that would have gone to a metal tub at the base of the windmill. Which would have been a signal to "feather" the tail vane (turn it nearly parallel with the blades) to stop it from pumping. This would also be done to keep it from bouncing if any blades were broken (AeroMotor windmills will pound off the mount). This would have allowed for some of your excellent water feature work.

  • Lovely. Early in, it gave off horror movie vibes. Like the last stop a gang of teens end up at cause they're lost, and they're like "Well maybe if we head through this town we can save time and make it to the concert," and then Leather Face or whatever kills them all. But then the farther you worked it kind of moved onto post-apocalypse vibes. Like survivors scavenging for food in the ramshackle gas station. Anyway, very detailed. Very beautifully done.

  • This is incredible. You have such an attention to detail and steady hand! wonderful work. PS: 9:16 : you can reattach paintbrush heads with nail polish. Works great once you let it dry and doesn't loosen even if you leave your paintbrush in water for a week straight.
