The South Branch Oconto River is a large and important trout stream in North East Wisconsin. It features both brown trout and brook trout, and they can get big here. The lower section from Co. Rd AA to Hwy 32 might be the easiest to wade. The section running thru Menomonee County does not allow fishing. The trout in the South Branch are known to spend their winters in the main Oconto River and then swim upstream during the spring and summer as far as 40 miles. After they are done spawning they can make the return trip in as few as 3 days.

I love the South Branch of the Oconto River. The whole river system is very nice. Many pleasant days spent fishing there. Beautiful area, wonderful water. Thanks for the enjoyable video, Dan.
Looks like a really nice stream. Nice holes, structure... trouty! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful stream but it gets a lot of fishing pressure. It gets pounded pretty heavily throughout the season.
Nice! I'd love to see more small stream fly fishing around this general area. Keep it coming and thanks.
Keep the Wisconsin videos coming!
