  • Ready to take part in the takedown revolution? I've condensed everything you need to know about takedowns for Jiu-Jitsu into a comprehensive, A-Z guide that guarantees excellence in the standing position. And after three years of hard work, the launch of ‘The Effective Takedown System' has finally arrived. The preorder sold out, but fear not, collar tie the link below to be the first to know when it drops to the public: wrestleu.mykajabi.com/real-opt-in-page Oh, and remember… Stay Scrappy ;) Coach Adam

  • Great short explanation. I do home health PT with older folks and use exactly this (bit more upright tho) for learning fall prevention 🤙 Call it “sturdy steppin’ “

    • Sturdy steppin’! I love that. I think I’ll have to start implementing that terminology it’s accurate and memorable. Appreciate it!

    • Then you learned wrong because boxing and wrestling footwork is completely different to include the orthodox stance of a right handed boxer leading with his left foot versus a right handed wrestler leading with his right foot.

  • Amazing bro. I Wrestled for 14 years ( school & college). After graduating College I joined a MMA Gym. Despite the fact, that the Gym is very grappling oriented, I still miss the raw intensity of pure wrestling.

  • Awesome man, I’m a boxing coach and these are the basic fundamentals of how you move and circle in boxing too I teach the exact same thing in a boxing stance, same concept too about not stepping too wide. That way your feet are always in position you need them to throw a strike 🤙🏽

    • Love it anytime there's a crossover between arts, shows there's a through-line of principles with human movement. Also, I've been getting more into boxing lately! Striking is so much fun.

  • Before starting JJ you should do 1-2 years of wrestling. JJ takes years to get even moderately good at. I got my blue belt after 4 years. Wish I learned some basic wrestling before. Catching up is difficult.

    • Honestly I agree. In an ideal world everyone would start with wrestling and work into jj. Glad you see the benefit of drilling wrestling and are putting in the work!
