Mr. Magic on BLS, red alert on kiss FM, The awesome 2 on WHBI. You had to wait till midnight with your cassette tape ready to record the latest rap song that was coming out. When I see stories like these, and I compared it to the way the hip hop culture is now, it makes me want to cry. Because I was there at rap's birth, I helped nurture it. And to see the garbage that we see now, it just breaks my heart😔💖

As a rapper myself I used to study Kane's lyrics and rhyme schemes constantly. Kane and Rakim redefined hip hop and inspired millions, including Big L and Eminem

"Kane".....What I know about "Big Daddy Kane" is he wasn't just another rapper who came out of Brooklyn. He set the bar for whitty battle rhymes, & hype stage shows. I give you an example....I remember back in 89' Me & my crew went to see him perform live on stage along with his dancers "Scoob & Scrap lovers" So the music begin to play...."Kane"was brought out while he was in a hot tub ...then he stepped out the tub & "Smooth Operator" beat began to play ..& the ladies went bananas. I was so glad I didn't bring my girl to the show or I would of wind up losing my girl that night....lol. But that's was the nature of his shows....He gave you what you paid for. If you think about it today how rappers just walk one side of the stage to the other side. With little to not stage routines....."Kane" gave you a great show....& I never forget I saw a "Kane" show live. 🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧
