From my visit to Cuba in 2010 at a leading gym in Guantanamo ,where equipment is limited,we see the Cuban boxers working on footwork drills.
So Fluent ,yet some people say they are natural and lucky to have these movements.
From my experience the coordination and footwork is trained everyday from a young age.The warm ups have coordination training where dance is a common thing.
There is no luck involved, the Cubans practice these moves everyday and are more important to them than Open sparring.
The Cubans see the big picture of boxing and are improving the small things constantly where in the western World we tend to use aggression and only see what is in front of us.

This is what most boxers lack.FOOT WORK. Artistic movement, watch it in slow motion.
I always theorized what if you mixed dancing with boxing y'know?? Next thing you know the Cubans have been doing that for I don't know HOW long.
I agree.
I love the way Cubans train, love from Texas!
Very interesting to see that this is the environment where champions are made
These guys have 1 thing in common...Hunger ! thanks for your support
Lay people marvel at the rustic, archaic, decaying training environment of Cuban boxers and find it enchanting. Little do they know, that most boxing clubs in worldwide looks the same and is equally basic and usually a lot smaller too. The general public are only accustomed to seeing the press workouts of top professional boxers, which are in the private gyms of their management & trainers. Amateur boxing gyms looks like this everywhere. Be it Russia, England, USA, Venezuela, Australia, India..
Checkmates boxing gym in New Jersey is worse at least their punching bags stay connected to the ceiling.
What's wrong with it ?
This is how you become fluid. Whatever sport your doing, balance and coordination are the key. Without coordination, you would look stiff and robotic. In boxing, the Cubans are probably the most graceful in footwork like rigo, Stevenson, erislandy lara and savon.
What is fascinating with cuban boxers is that they are as graceful as they are skilled.
I love seeing a real boxing gym. True hunger. Young man will be a problem form others in his future. Peace!!
VIVA CUBA VIVA BOXING !!!🌟
practice practice practice! This is something you can do when you're away from the gym even if you're tired, learn to develop balance and fluid movement. I like to work in some fluid punches with gloves ON with these type drills, you'll be surprised how they help your punching power!
perfect mate,Always keep improving and conditioning your body to be better
@@theboxingshop01 you got it!
i really wanna move like tese guys, we most train hard everyday!
Love boxing too!
Thank you!
Did my first session of Cuban boxing tonight . Enjoyed it so much. Damn it’s hard to get a grasp on footwork . I guess if I keep at it I will eventually pick it up right ?
make everyone practice shoulder to shoulder and tell them don't let anyone step on your toes that's how they're learning footwork so well
Dude is definitely the main character in the gym also I really really admire Cuban style. Footwork is phenomenal with a bit of Cuban twist to it ❤
Great video!
Beautiful! Nice! Elegant! Fast! Smart!
thank you ,it was a pleasure to learn from the leaders
Like a young Rigondeaux
@@ftdcp4459 so balanced and fluent..Thanks for your support
Man Cubans make it look good
Who else was watching dude in white&blue shirt the whole time
were you able to see what these guys did in terms of strength and core training? I know they emphasise a helluva lot to footwork and sparring, awesome work
Hi Johnny, the strength and con that I saw was just very basic,But dance related moves as in Emilio Correas warm up were always implemented. In everyday training. They believe that coordinated movements are the key
Buen movimientos. Cuban's are good fighters and train hard, usually all Spanish speaking nations have great warrior's in every sport that involves hitting.
The thing that I realised that they work on coordination movements alot more than most other countries..the bag punching etc was never more than 4 rounds. Thanks for your support
@@theboxingshop01 Thank you for your reply my friend. Maye one day we could meet in this world of fighting somewhere as I train and my son is getting into it also.
If Cubans started focusing a bit more on sitting down on their punches they would be a force to be reckon with!
I think that’s Andy Cruz Gomez looks and moves similar to him
smooth
a great mover and very good boxer..thank yiu for your support
Being mobile and trying not to get hit is coo but, damn u gotta sit down and throw some punches sometimes.
You want him to train everything at once ?
This Untitled boxing game server look interested
Valero moved like this in the gym. Just got me thinking of how primitive the coaching system is in "Western" nations. We have two arm and two legs so why do we train fighters to box in one stance. Its crazy. Makes no sense.
What gym is this please?
Brendan Dorman brought me here
Ozzy ozzy ozzy oi oi oi hehe
thanks for supporting the channel 💯
Are these gyms open to public?
no not in Cuba...
Видно кто хозяин в этом зале
The trick to this guy is to close off sections of the ring. He's goal is to run circles around you and disorientate you. Keep distance and jab, pick your shots and the match is won
great, i want to see you fight him
@@alejandrozuniga4426 dont be salty bro hes correct in theory
this kid was a very well schooled 16 year old boy at the time, who was very good with his coordinated movements and boxing skills..they didnt even have a boxing ring to train in ..so much class in the Cuban gyms
Easier said than done I feel.
You can't close anything off if he out angles u , look at lomachenko , everyone think they know everything

I see boxers.
are his feet supposed to be coming so close together so much? i swear that puts you off balance
That's called rhythm stepping and yeah you should avoid it
The white boy looks lost. Haha.
Great footwork but the shirtless guy with the blue shorts in the back there needs to relax his shoulders more
This kid was only 16 at the time and has had many fights..he was a quality boxer and very fluent..thanks for your support 🥊
His footwork is good, but can he bring it into the ring :D ??
yes 100% i saw him in skills sparring and open sparring
Why not?
I think Canelo studied the footwork of cuban.
Wdym canelos flat footed asf
Fcuk no.
Canelo studied the footwork of an elephant
So pathetic that these kids have to live in such poverty because of their disgusting government
Calm down, these people aren't looking for your pity. Take care of your homeless and poor first.
