I'm glad to see that it got a 9/10 repairability score. It seems easy to repair. Thanks for the detailed video.
You're welcome!
Finally the Samsung battery is easy to remove. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yup!
Do ppl actually diy and replace the battery themselves?
@@zo9fg welp, I do
@@zo9fg yes, it's not hard

in all honesty, I hope your channel can gain even more exposure. The disassembly and analysis of the devices is simply excellent! Fast effective and precise. 👌🏻🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much!
Having 9/10 repairability score on a Samsung flagship phones is a miracle.
👍
Until you remember, they make foldables that are pretty much e-waste out the gate as soon as it comes to repairing anything screen-related. Foldable repairs are also hugely wasteful since a replacement comes with a screen attached to the chassis and is doubtful that it will ever be truly recycled. Even so, it's a gamble that during switching the internals, the hinge mechanism will be intact - assuming any damage hasn't already hindered functionality to as to make it useful for a future repair progect - again, also assuming anybody wants to go through the ardious, risky process of trying to repair the screen and frankenstein a new one to an old chassis. How people spend nearly 1k on a flip or, in the case of the fold, close to or above 2k on those things for lesser specs than a s22+ or s23U is beyond me, simply because it folds. Sorry about the tangent, but folding isn't an excuse to cheap out on specs comparable to the price range of their galaxy flagships.

Excellent work and explanation, thank you
I do enjoy watching your videos. It lets me know a little more about the phone and what the inside looks like .Thanks
Glad you like them, and you're welcome 👍
I love how thorough and straight to the point this guy is. Awesome video!
Thanks!
It's really great to see Samsung actually supporting pro-repair properly. Each generation since the S10 has been getting repair upgrades; S20 had the modular daughter board for USB-C replacements, S21 mostly the same, S22 having a Modular Display Cable and now S23 having a Easier to replace battery. Great Job Samsung, keep it up!
👍
Are you saying it used to be more difficult with Samsung? (never had one)... I'm watching this video and nothing seems easy to me!!
@@HakunaMatata225 I run my own repair company. Samsungs are infinitely easier and better to work on than all other vendors (except a rare 1 or 2 like FairPhone), especially compared to Apple. Apple in particular being the next most popular mobile company, have what I like to call "Surprise traps", proprietary easily strippable screws and extremely fragile flex cables alongside parts-pairing (majority of the parts can't be replaced without losing phone functionality) when opening. The worst part I'd say about opening a Samsung phone is probably just prying the back glass off and for reference, I've done over 50+ Samsungs and never broken the back glass once, so in my own opinion, I find it easy. As for difficulty, if you've never opened a phone before then chances are that it will be really hard to do with the design of modern phones having liquid resistant adhesive seals and whatnot making it easy to break fragile parts like the back glass I mentioned earlier. If your interested in learning, I'd look at picking up a few cheap and broken phones online that have no value to get started.

Hell yeah, the high repairability adds value to the product imo. I hope they allow custom roms after 5 years of updates. With the battery bypass rumored to be available to all s23 models these phones can have a great life after Samsung moves on
👍
Are u sure battery bypass is in s23 series?
@@zo9fg yes
What is a battery bypass and why this is important?
@@abs1207you can directly Power the phone with a cable without charging the battery
Is it possible to completely remove the 5G antenna in the Samsung S23 or any other top level phone, or at least disable it (yes I am aware that one can simply turn it off in the connections settings). Thank you for your excellent work and hopefully, answering my question, Brian
Yes, I was waiting for this.. Thanks for the video..
You're welcome
Watching this on my new S23U right now. Happy to see Samsung designed the battery to be replaceable without risking damage. My old S9 served me for 5+ years before I traded in due to failing battery, and I'm hopeful my S23U will do the same if not even longer.

Genuine youtuber ever.. I appreciate your work
Thank you :)
Hey! What about removal of the volume rockers? I think the uv glue got inside because of the person who was placing the screen protector didn't know what they're doing and I need to clean it up now ;/

No wonder the stereo on this phone is so good, the earpiece speaker is pretty much a full size speaker
Great video. I plan on keeping mine for at least 4 years and it looks easy enough to replace the battery.
Thank you :)
Hey sir. I broke one of the camera lenses. Are those replaceable or I need to change the whole back glass?
Hi Sir I Appreciate the work you do Video Quality Explanation wow . I watch Other KZhead channel too related to yours work You doing a good 👍

Your videos are excellent. I would love to see more considerations about oxidation resistance, whether they use gold or copper to coat the electronics.
you earned one new subcriber. great video, thx. quick demande; who is for a PBKreview's review of the upcoming oppo find x6 pro?
Thanks for the support!
Hey dude I put the sim pin in the microphone hole, will anything happen? Can the needle reach the microphone?
What is the black ring on the white square between sensors and top camera on the back glass?
thanks for video. Do you know why they make another hole next to microphone where is usb c? S22 doesn't have hole extra:)
Not too sure, internally it leads to nothing/no opening from the inside. It might be a channel which is ran through the inside of the frame and to the speaker as an extra tweeter opening but not sure.
Thanks for the upload. I'll be getting my upgrade soon. Thanks

спасибо за детальный обзор!
You're welcome!
Will the phone still be water resistant once the battery is swapped out? I'm assuming so as long as the back cover is placed bonded properly w/ adhesive or gasket
yeah, as long as you use the original pre cut adhesive which is sold for the phone or replace it with a new back battery door cover which comes with the adhesive pre installed, then you should retain the water resistance.
So can anyone do this then or just samsung repair depots? My usb c input is playing up on my s23 ultra and not fast charging anymore so would I be able to fix this? Also what type of glue is used to re glue the rear glass back on?
hey bro can I use s20 g980 battery on g981b model for replacement? Thanks.
Absolute legend. 9/10 score seems generous, though lol, with how things are soldered together and how you will have to replace parts as part of assembly and not one by one (e.g. screen and fingerprint scanner)
True, but at least the replacement screens come with a fingerprint scanner which is already attached and will work without it being locked out like apple etc.
Nice work
How does it look like that already at release date
Are temps better if you apply new and better thermal paste on memory and CPU ?
I haven't done it to this phone, but usually better thermal paste does offer better heat transfer. But also ones which are really good have high conductivity, meaning if they leak or get in contact with other components around it, it can cause a short.
@@PBKreviews Thermal conductivity doesn't mean that paste is electrically conductive, almost all today thermal paste's are not electrically conductive. Liquid metal is.
Большое спасибо за видео, было очень интересно. 👍

Thank you so much for your Nice work 👏👍
Thank you and you're welcome 👍
That's a satisfying pop sound when those cables are popped off.
@PBKreviews, Which phone do you think is better in terms of build quality and operation, S22ultra or S23 ultra?
Awesome video! Thanks. lets just say a guy was using the sim eject tray tool in the wrong hole before realizing it. is that the main microphone hole or the other hole? its the one on the right side of charging port if you are looking at the screen.
Thanks 👍. That would be the main mic, but it won't be damaged. both mic and filter are seated above the hole itself.

hello battery li-ion other brands use li-po what is the difference between them is li-ion better.
Can you add another colour?
hi, I have a problem with the power button on the S23 Ultra, it seems it's just the external plastic that needs replacing.. do I need to disassemble the entire smartphone or do they slide off externally? Thank you
Should be able to be pulled out from the frame. Similar to this video at 4:32 in the video: kzhead.info/sun/eM5phL5lboR3l3k/bejne.html&ab_channel=PBKreviews
Do the vapour chamber work if it doesn't connect to the body for the heat to go out?
Hi, not sure what you mean.
Do you think it is possible to install the front camera of the s22 ultra on the s23 ultra? I think it has the same connector and I don't think there are any software issues.
I haven't tried it but it might be possible.
I used domeglass for the screen protector and some of the loca glue went on the speaker.I got rid of the glue. Will the loca glue will actually go on the speakers? The speakers work perfectly fine
Hi, there is a filter over the speaker itself. As long as it doesn't clog the entire filter, you should be fine.
@PBKreviews the speakers works perfectly fine.no issues at all.
@PBKreviews if I put water on the speakers, will it remove dried up glue or should it be fine since there is a filter?
Wow amazing smartphone👑👊🏻🔥 good video brother💯😇👐🏻
Thanks!
If you were to repair the camera will the whole module need changing or can individual camera's be replaced within the module?
Individual cameras can be replaced
Can you compare the fingerprint sensor sizes on both phones?
they are exactly the same , you can check his S22 Ultra teardown and compare the two
I've recently dropped mine and something has come loose inside. The screen won't work and with that I can't tell if it still has power or charging. Any ideas what might have come loose inside that would have caused the phone to stop working?
Im new to phone repair, my phones touch sensor is not working, it turns on, all the buttons work. screen looks great but theres nothing that i can do to register touch, what is it that needs replacing?
When you re-apply the adhesive is it still ip68 water and dust resistant?
as long as you use the original pre cut adhesive made for the phone and apply it properly, should retain the resistance.
@@PBKreviews that's great! Thanks.🙂
good video - i was kinda disappointed you didn't show if it turned on after putting it back together
It turned on but after prying off the shattered screen, it was beyond working condition so yep you can hear sounds but it doesn't show anything.
Superb presentation..you are a tech geek and speak like a robot..but your skill can never be ignored.. superb engineering by the Koreans

Hello, I'm sorry, if you can help me, on the S23 Ultra screen, I press exactly the part where the copper foil is located behind the periscope camera, it makes a sound like plastic, is this sound due to the presence of the copper foil under the screen and is it normal?? I press a lot next to the volume key on the screen, it makes a sound like a hand on plastic. Please help, thank you
@Where is the vibration module located?
In the speaker assembly housing.
유익한 자료 감사합니다.
You're welcome 👍
Are the volume and power buttons easily removable in this model?
They aren't too difficult from what I remember. If I'm not mistaken, they are pull out ones which can be pulled out of the frame.
Received my s23 ultra the other day. After testing the phone, I took a nap. However, I decided to add another sim on the slot when I woke up. I accidentally inserted the sim ejector pin to one of the tiny mic holes at the bottom with enough force thinking to eject the sim slot. My question is, is there some kind of barrier to protect the mic from being poked? I recorded multiple vids and made calls, mic is ok they said.. I hope the pin didnt puncture through the mic. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated. There are two holes for the mic at the bottom of the phone. Is the mic located directly in front of those holes?
Hi, you will be fine, since the mic and filter are both seated above the hole and the opening in the frame is like a sideways L shape so you won't damage anything.
Is there an ldi in it?
hello. I replaced the frame/display and everything worked great for 2 weeks, now i have no touch just S pen response. what could be the problem....flex cables?
You can try a software update since some replacement screens require the phone to be on the latest software to work properly. I know you can't access the phone since touch don't work, so you may need to use another screen which works with the phone like your old screen if still usable or you would be required to flash the firmware with the computer which will also result in your data being lost. Most of the time it would be that, if still no luck, you can re check the cables.
Never before seen 'balls inside speaker'. What is the mechanism of action - I am very curious.
thank you for sharing this video you gained ❤ 👍 from me
Thank you and you're welcome :)
3:22 CPU 5:11 Battery front view 5:14. Battery back view Can you continue to share closeups like this of all the parts please? I think this is very important, especially when looking at previous models (example below) Battery Models ------------------------- EB-BG998ABY - S21 4855mAh 18.84Wh EB-BS908ABY - S22 4855mAh 18.83Wh EB-BS918ABY - S23 4855mAh 18.83Wh SIDE NOTE: Can you try swapping parts from previous models to see if they would work? I have to assume Samsung blocks this but be interesting if certain types of equipment works like the front facing camera etc
If I am able to get my hands on another S22 ultra, I will try n swap the parts to see what works or not. I've been considering doing it but will probably get to it after the next few videos on the rest of the series.
Not really sure if it will work. I put a Pixel 6 Pro Screen on a Pixel 7 (turn on you see the Google logo and a few sec nothing happens) When I did the reverse same thing happened. They might have done the minimum to make sure people can't swap things around. Pixel used the same connector for the 6pro 7pro unlike Apple who radically changes everything from on phone to the other 😂 making sure there's no 13 pro with Dynamic Island out in the wild.
@@PBKreviews Yup no worries. Just a thought for more content and experimentation :)
Is copper behind the screen for heat dissipation or s pen or both? You said heat dissipation but afaik copper is for s pen.
Majority if not all screens will have copper film behind them for heat dissipation. Now if they use it for other purposes as well its possible, but it's mainly used for the heat transfer.
@@PBKreviews Thanks for clarifying. 😃
I love your videos
Is it still water proof after the back glass repaired.
as long as you use the pre cut adhesive made for the phone, you should retain the water resistance.
Is it possible to to buy each parts separately and built the phone What's the pros and cons
You could, but would cost you more doing that. Plus not sure if every single part would be available. Some parts like graphite film or pads and filters are difficult to find.
i need to replace power button. how to get to it?
Nice, but where is the gyro sensor? Top or bottom?

The foam balls does not make the speaker sound larger.. It dampens the resonance. It would actually sound larger without them but with alot og resonance sounds. Kinda why it's called DAMPENING in speaker boxes... ;)
hmm not sure, you may be right but that's what I have been told and led to believe by others who are more experienced with the speakers than I am.
@@PBKreviews I am sure after over 25 years of experience. I have corrected others on this too. It is litteraly called sound dampening and not "sound largering" etc for a reason... It dampens resonance👍
Does your s23 ultra screen have defect at bottom bezel?
My Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 512GB doesn't have any issues.
Was the S23u screen easier to remove from the midframe than the S22u?

Can i change Back Camera S22 Ultra used Back Camera S23 Ultra ? or used Main board S23 Ultra to S22 Ultra
After tear down will the water ip 67 rating will be maintained or it's lost.
As long as you apply new original pre cut adhesive made for the phone, you should retain the ip rating. The pre cut adhesive usually comes pre attached to replacement back glass, or sold separately as well once replacement parts become available online.
Treat it as lost
9/10 is really legit. For me 8/10 as I'm not an expert at disassembling the phone but surely until the display I am fine with all of it.
👍
There is a button or slot under the side key near the bottom of the phone.... What's does it do or what's its purpose?
Not sure what you're referring to. Do you mean that additional hole next to the charger port? If that's what you mean, that I am not 100% sure. From what I was able to tell it might be a channel to the speaker in addition to the standard speaker openings in the frame, but internally it doesn't lead to anything. So might be channeled from inside the frame itself.
@@PBKreviews Perhaps they're referring to the long oval section on the actual left side of the phone below the buttons. I can't see it in any of the views in the video or anything it'd be connected to, and I don't know what it is either.
Great video! N.B: please stop the animation movements between frames it's disturbing!
