    • This comes up all the goddamn time, every single knockout video. Every single one. As others said, the rules state that the fight is still going until the referee intervenes, but more importantly, I think you're seriously, *seriously* overestimating how much time passes between the downing and the follow-up strikes. You act as though the opponent is knocked down, and the fighter goes, leans over, checks, sees they're down, and thinks "ooh nice, he's knocked out! Time to get a few more licks in just for me!" I'm obviously being hyperbolic, but it's a split second decision. Stop being dramatic; there shouldn't be "a criminal charge", that's ludicrous. I'm speaking for 99% of instances. For instances like most of Mike Kyle's career, yeah, there should be legal repercussions. But for the average fight, no, it's all in the game.

While Okami's knees were on the ground, Silva was lying on his back and the intent was a teep kick that would allow him to escape. @Cernunnnos@Cernunnnos Жыл бұрын
    • BJJ is the most useless martial art and seeing them bend the rules to favor 'defensive grapplers' is disheartening as it is destroying the sport. In any fight, being on your back is a terrible spot to be in, in UFC its advantageous.

      @kateanderson8384@kateanderson8384 Жыл бұрын
    • @@kateanderson8384 There's no chance you've been in a fight once in your life if you think bjj is useless. In a real life scenario and in mma bjj can be utilized much easier and is way more effective than strikes. Don't believe it? imagine you attempting to punch someone while they are focused on forcing you into a heel hook. Doesn't make sense because you're just going to cause a bruise or 2 while the bjj practitioner is going to quite literally rip your knee apart. Look up Guy uses bjj in basketball fight in case you're still not convinced. Also heel hooks aren't even the most effective bjj move. Blood chokes can not only knock someone out as easy as a punch can but it can also kill the person if held for long enough.

      @haydenphipps4923@haydenphipps4923 Жыл бұрын
    • @@haydenphipps4923 Using bjj in a street fight is ludicrous. The vast majority in a street fight are NOT fighting 1 on 1 so the likelihood of you exposing your vital areas while putting someone in a heel lock only to get soccer kicked to the head just doesn't seem appealing to me. In a street fight it is much more advantageous for you or anyone to stay on your feet as much as possible.

    @Stuart267@Stuart267 Жыл бұрын
    • The only thing Dana cares or has ever cared about is $$$, getting the loss overturned means he can promote JJ as undefeated which means more money. That’s why he loves Conor McGregor so much, he acts like a friend but he doesn’t care about Conor just the money he makes. Once he’s milked Conor for all he’s worth he’ll be cast aside for the next big thing in line. It is disgusting, rules are there to safeguard fighters and if certain fighters think they can get away with pulling illegal shit because of who they are and the fact that Dana will back them then it’s only going to be matter of time before someone is killed. Those decisions where there is clear intent on the fighters part to conduct an illegal move and potentially endanger the safety and life of their opponent should absolutely 100% stand.

  • If Jon Jones used an illegal 12-6 elbow in order to be disqualified, on what basis can anyone say the loss should be scrubbed off the records? Can anyone explain "The Case for Jon Jones" for me?

    @ryans756@ryans756 Жыл бұрын
    • The reason why people say the loss should be taken off the record is because prior to the elbows Jones had him on the ground and was constantly hitting him with no real response. And he kept looking at the ref to see if he'll stop the fight, but the ref didn't so he began to use the elbow in order to stop the fight. And at the time he didn't know the 12 to 6 was illegal. And the fighter himself said that he definitely didn't win that fight. Either way hope that helps

  • Not being able to knee or kick a downed opponent is the dumbest thing. So many rules in MMA. I understand eye gouging but anyone can just drop to both knees to avoid kicks to the face. It should be allowed because one should avoid being in that position in the first place. The ref can stop the fight after the kick and call it. This is bs.
