Forever in love with the look and thanks to Chris Bangle (BMW Design Director) and his team for this awesome look vehicle.
This 197k kms well used and maintained machine is an epitome to this e60 beauty. Though may not be as agile as 3.0 litre series, but 2.5 is suffice for the comfort and fun you are looking for.
The engine still quiet, no cabin noise and the gearbox is very smooth. Salute to the owner for maintaining this car very well. Not to forget the beautiful 'vibration-orchestra' while driving it.
Overall, this 12yr old car is still superb to drive and can be an excellent purchase should the current owner wants to sell it.

Thank you @Gopalakrishnan Balakrishnan. The look of the car can be very deceiving haha. Can make you cannot sleep at night once you start thinking about it. But when you get into the car, and the 'ding' sound to surface (mostly on errors/alerts), then can give nightmare. This model is common to have issues like engine misfiring, and sluggish gearbox at times. So please do not rush when making a decision. Drive slow when you doing a test. Please observe the gear transition to see how smooth or does it give a big kick. Any sight of kick to shift gear is not a good sign. Let the engine run for awhile (not moving) and lookout for any error, temperature behaviour, A/C noise level. After all that and you still like it, next think about if you know any good mechanic that you can rely on. If yes to all of that, go for it bro! Again, the model is one the best good looking car still on the road. Good luck!
Hi mate i have 08 e60 525i msport n52b25. I just been chasing new plugs n coils . Im in newzealand so everything twice the price . My coils and plugs just arrived ,so doing a check i found sights saying not suitable for my car But just as many say ok . Have you come across this ???
@jamie stanley - sorry to hear on this situation, fortunately i have not came across this but i know for sure we will need to be very clear with the car's chassis/model before purchasing any parts. Hope you get to resolve the issue soon bro.

@Cigarette Wala - nah they don't unfortunately. Best way is to connect the car RF transmittor to make the bluetooth connection as I am doing now
I thought the later 525i had a detuned 3.0
@Richard Ohaletse - probably you are right, but we are also learned that different country received different specifications according to the local market preference, weather and overall sustainability. So it might not be same everywhere else.
Not in Malaysia, the 525i e60 all comes with 2.5 litres, earlier one m54 192ps and later N ones are 218PS
I got a 2004 525i what can I do to make it better ??? Is it like the same like yours ?
just go to a good mechanic and first fix it mechanically like engine suspension and transmission, check if any engine part needs to change or not like piston head etc. Once it is done and engine wise it is ok, then it is time to get some stylish rims and wrap car if you want any specific colour. Get LED tail and headlights if you want and do some interior work, get a nice m new bmw steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster(optional). Just a new designed steering can give its interior a new fresh look. Now enjoy your car.

BMW in general is very expensive.. I own a 1 series, E81 from 2011 and the garage bills I had so far where not incredibly cheap.. Count that on with fuel for the car, tires (especially if you want bigger tires, these cars can hold up to 275's in the rear), you'll be looking at quite the price. Car is stuffed to the brim with electronics, so if anything breaks, open your wallet. If you want to have it BMW serviced and maintained, be well aware that you will need a good chunk of money to run this car.
@Rubbesh - Depending where you are located. it is comparatively as expensive as any other German made cars if you have any experience maintaining any of them before. If driving BMW is not common in that area, the more expensive it can be especially with the wear and tear trying to keep up with the local weather. There is one strong quote that we keep holding on to it until today, "buy it with heart, not with brain" :). If you have a specific brand interest, you shall accept come what may as part of the learning and experience, then you can decide to love or to hate for your next journey Hope this helps @Rubbesh
