  • I have lived in Kuwait for 4 years when I was a kid in mid until late 90s and that is why I follow your channel because it gives me nostalgia. Even back then I remember a lot of British people were living there whose kids went to British school there. I'd like to go back to Kuwait one day as a tourist and see how it'd feel. Nice to see these kind of videos Mike from everyday life and people in Kuwait, since Kuwait has always been a business city/country and never really wanted to transition to touristy and "fun" one like Dubai.

    • I wish people came to the West with the same open mindedness and respect. Too many come here with a sneering attitude, criticising the West as being 'decadent' while simultaneously benefiting from Western ideals of Human Rights, Freedom of Speech and living off benefits. Some don't even bother to learn the language of their host country even after living there for decades.

  • I was born in Kuwait in 2004 and I’ve been living in kuwait for 17 years now and I’m a bodybuilder, I’d say that besides a few exceptions, there ain’t that much outdoor stuff you can do here, the bright sides to this place are that it’s pretty safe, no taxes and I’ve made so many great friends that I’d die for, I’m sure I’ll keep in touch with them once I’m done with school, I wanna move to the UK after school since I heard there’s a lot more to do there and most of my friends are also going there after they are done with school which is great and one of my major goals is to compete in the 2024 Olympics taking place in Paris as a runner so that I can prove that Kuwait has also got some great hard workers following their passions

  • As a British-Kuwaiti there’s just something very endearing I find about Kuwait. It really is home. Kuwait has a strong collectivist society (in contrast, to the west’s individualistic societies) and with that you truly are never alone. I find it really interesting how most of the people you spoke to found Kuwait to be- in their own words- safe. I’ve met some exchange students who made the same commentary about Kuwait. My theory to why Kuwait is very safe is narrowed down to our collectivist society. People here rarely live simply to please themselves; there’s their family, their neighbors, their future spouses, the community to think about. A decision is made after debating it’s outcomes general effect; while there are definitely pros and cons to that, the trade off is general safety.

    • I like to say that kuwait is safe, and I think it is You often hear about crazy stuff in news and all of that, but you have to think of the CHANCES of that happening and it’s very low, my father works in the embassy and he has this notion of “Life is not safe, to be safe stay home”, yes I know he’s living a negative life He lives his life “avoiding” anything that could cause harm, in his work place he hears A LOT of stories everyday about what happens Either way imo, kuwait is safe, stable and nice place. & no taxes The people are nice, you have a lot of communities here and you can easily find a place to fit in Also you’ll hear about people being mean to expats (which is untrue), if you mistreat someone they’ll mistreat you. Only thing I hate here is, driving is hectic lmao

India is still a developing country overall. Yes, there is garbage on the streets and there are also streets with no garbage. It matters how many people are walking on that damn road. Also, the administration as well as maintenance staff. You should not eat and drink just anywhere because sanitation is an issue but if you go to managed places like an average or high-end restaurant then it shall not be a problem. As far as I know, they should have a toilet to get the license but maybe they just kept it for the staff. That’s so wrong of them. And that’s just not the norm in Kuwait lool probably only in tiny restaurants in residential buildings, spaces that are meant to be for a supermarket (Baqala) or a shop rather than a restaurant.

I did not hang much with local kids, but played soccer with some (mostly Iraqi). I remember them being generous with my lack of skill. They put me in the goal because I was big, and they thought I could reach the corners. One day they told me they had to go to the army. That meant the Iran-Iraq war. They were only a bit older than me (maybe 15). I did not see them again.
