“Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.” ― Ricky Gervais
Bill Maher is one of the most-debunked People. Just like ''CC from New Work'. But look at the commentsection: This Guy has such a Grip on his Fans, they cant get away form him.

I love how Felicia got "offended" by the joke, then proceeded to flood Twitter with insults, attacks, ad hominems, etc.
And proceeded to do exactly what she called out as the wrong response a year prior.
This seems to be the pattern: 1. I’m offended by what you did& then tried to apologize for doing. 2. I’ll be offensive toward you in return on pretty much a global scale and expect everyone to agree with me or accuse them of being as bigoted and evil as you!

This is a peculiar thing I came across when I was a teacher. Parents who didn't like how you were dealing with their child were not interested in sitting down, talking, and working things out. They were on search and destroy mode, screaming in your face, complaining to your superiors daily and insisting you be fired, getting online with other parents of your students to start bad feelings with them, all over the most miniscule misunderstanding. This is how younger adults are today. God help us.
The part of your comment saying "...all over the most miniscule misunderstanding" is particularly worrisome to me. Some people would call this lack of perspective and I would agree--yet I would add lack of proportion, as well. In other words, not every disagreement should be seen as a "three-alarm fire" level of conflict.
You weren't there, my friend, they were almost always miniscule.
I got told to become a teacher once. Your explanation of what happens....... is for that very reason.
😢this is sadly why I left teaching. Parents and teachers are supposed to be partners.
@darlamcfarland3323, my wife would talk for 25 years left the teaching profession for EXACTLY the scenario you described. Parents stopped thinking of the teacher as someone whose job is to impart information but someone they could work out on because Johnny continually acted up in class and there wasn't a damn thing teachers could do about it anymore,; no expulsions, no disciplines allowed, and you have to treat them all like thin glass faces because they're so fragile. It was just too hard for her to go from a recognized positive force in students lives particularly because of her emphasis on reading to being blamed for all of society's ills and in particular the behavioral problems of the children foisted upon her by bad parents/ ignorant/ drug addicted/ in trouble with the law and on and on. It is virtually impossible to rid yourself of a student who is basically destroying the class and The Learning Experience for everyone else. And the parents come in and shake your finger at YOU❗
She is basically proving the joke has reality in it.
Yeah, we found out which bi she is.
She became the joke, literally, she walked straight in to it like a clueless child and proceeded to act as such. 😂
Ikr. What a perfect response it would've been for someone to tweet at her: "So I guess you don't like women, then."
Yup, let's make fun of serious illnesses... That will make it better.
So you have no problem posting sexist things on a public platform? That basically proves the need for women to call out entitled men spewing sexism. Thanks for proving her point.
I saw a button the other day "It's not because you're old, the music really does suck"... that has even deeper meaning now
Yes music today mostly does suck, but it was even worse in my teen years (late 90s/early 00s).
Yes, it is thanks to the infamous autotune! Just watched an analysis about that. Music today all sound the same.
You're crazy the bands and the 90s are awesome
At my work on a hotel we play two stations: Frank Sinatra and the elevator muzak they make nowadays. I HATE hearing the same 40 Sinatra songs over and over again. But better that than Radio Costes.
"A thousand burning bras." . . . "Till the bell rang and all went to seventh period." 😆 One of your best monologues, Bill! (from a fellow "boomer")
Of all the good late night shows, Bill's is not only very entertaining but you can feel that he wants all of his viewers, left and right to reflect and reconsider. That makes his show special.

It's almost like people will manipulate to gain power.
that's how they get their 15 minutes of fame.
A lot of people have the mental agility to imagine Bill Maher as a liberal whose talking points check off the entire agenda of the right- so I guess anything is possible.
That's because they're not really offended. It's a power play to silence those with dissenting views. These people are nuts.
"Here are my buttons. I don't care how tempting it is, don't push them." "Why aren't you pushing my buttons?!"
There is a lot of stuff Bill says that i either disagree with or feel maybe a little off. But in this as a millennial myself, i have to admit that he is spot on. Well said. The worst thing about these sort of people is how horrendously toxic they are. While they're crying 'offence', they are in reality control freaks. They are entirely intolerant and humorless.
What's horrendously toxic Duncan Wallace is denying that jokes repeated over n over again by the dominant group are harmless. How do people tend to react when a woman says a dude's crazy vs. a dude saying a woman's crazy? Are you aware of the fact that not long ago a woman could be stripped of her rights and institutionalized for behaving in ways that male society did not agree with? It's no coincidence that the person who made the stupid, sexist joke is a white guy, or that the majority of people who defend BM are also white guys. White men have no clue what it's like to be discriminated against, exploited economically, shunned socially, etc. as a result of these so-called "harmless jokes".

These same media brainwashed masses are who their elected officials also pander to in often the same knee-jerk-reaction way, often flopping from one stance to another on subjects just for votes & attention. They're all controlled by media which is owned & narrated by the corporate ruling class, who now not only own a growing majority of both government establishment parties, but also control a growing majority of the dumbed down electorate who votes as they're manipulated to vote for, worship, or even commit homegrown terrorist attacks for. Bill Maher says it jokingly because it's a comedy show but in reality having a majority of stupid people in a rich country is no laughing matter at all! I laugh too, but worry even more!
One of the best New Rules all year because it DOES encapsulate what's wrong with the major newspapers--who are really the only ones left breaking news stories. We depend on The New York Times, The Washington Post, and a handful of others to actually break stories, and they simply don't anymore because too many of them just scroll through Twitter looking for trends to write about OR only cover "MeToo" stories because those women in live in NYC/LA/DC and they can go meet them for lunch 3 minutes from their office.

I'm a millennial and I agree with everything he said. At some point, these young people need to grow up and stop acting like moody children.
This frandmim was happy the read your post. Hope there are more who think like you
I’m a millennial as well and I agree.
I could say the same with some in our generation too. I hardly have the time to delegate to their insecurities and false outrage.
Our generation has always felt embarassing to be a part of. Even as a child I knew something was fucked up.

"Blubber Tweeting"...new word for me, love it!
Great video! Grand parents appalled you Bill.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
“Perpetually offended”, that’s a good one.
The biggest problem in this country is people's inability to understand that it's not always about them.
Hear, hear!
But it IS about them. If it's not about THEM, then they have to think about other people. And those days are LONG over.

The really sad part is that had the paper told her to get over it or quit she would be able to sue them using hostile workplace as a reason. This problem started a long time ago when harassment was defined as anything that makes someone feel uncomfortable and situations like this are now the result.
Correct. Wokes have changed the meaning of many words & now anything they dislike is either hate speech or harassment. Interestingly, this only ever applies to a select class of people (that they've pre-determined to be from the "oppressed" category). Then, even if a white straight male is being subjected to objective harassment & bullying, his claim of that will likely be dismissed.

She was told not to disparage her co-workers on Twitter. That is why she was fired and this isn't her first offence.
Because that is not the way to tell it. You don’t tell her she should change her emotional makeup. There is no thought crime or feel crime. You tell her what to do and what not to do. Like not harassing her colleagues. And you can ask from employers to be somewhat careful with their words. They have power over people and their salaries.
Nailed it.
