  • This is a peculiar thing I came across when I was a teacher. Parents who didn't like how you were dealing with their child were not interested in sitting down, talking, and working things out. They were on search and destroy mode, screaming in your face, complaining to your superiors daily and insisting you be fired, getting online with other parents of your students to start bad feelings with them, all over the most miniscule misunderstanding. This is how younger adults are today. God help us.

    • The part of your comment saying "...all over the most miniscule misunderstanding" is particularly worrisome to me. Some people would call this lack of perspective and I would agree--yet I would add lack of proportion, as well. It was just too hard for her to go from a recognized positive force in students lives particularly because of her emphasis on reading to being blamed for all of society's ills and in particular the behavioral problems of the children foisted upon her by bad parents/ ignorant/ drug addicted/ in trouble with the law and on and on. It's no coincidence that the person who made the stupid, sexist joke is a white guy, or that the majority of people who defend BM are also white guys. These same media brainwashed masses are who their elected officials also pander to in often the same knee-jerk-reaction way, often flopping from one stance to another on subjects just for votes & attention. They're all controlled by media which is owned & narrated by the corporate ruling class, who now not only own a growing majority of both government establishment parties, but also control a growing majority of the dumbed down electorate who votes as they're manipulated to vote for, worship, or even commit homegrown terrorist attacks for. I may not agree with him 100% of the time (I don’t agree 100% of the time with anyone), but I’m a big fan. There are just way too many folks in my generation that cry about being offended and want to ruin someone’s life over offensive statements. And yet, too many don’t vote, don’t try to actually solve problems, and instead try to show how morally pure they are while causing major damage to our country.
