Guys apple math is real, 1/8 > 1/16. so :) 8GB > 16GB
Got to remember that in fractions, the higher the denominator, the smaller the division - so the correct “Apple” math in your sample would be 1/16 > 1/8 (lesser is greater) which would then correlate with 8gb > 16gb (lesser is greater).

Say that for the phones with 4GB RAM what are capable to be comparable with the 12GB models.. (like iPhone 12 vs Note 20 4 years ago.. and Apple still only increased the phone RAM to 8GB, because some of the console level games needed more than just 6GB Memory.. so for light task the 8GB still fine, or you also want to force the car manufacturers to only sell cars with 4 doors, because for you the 2 doors just not enough..?

I commented to some computer experts a few years back that non-Apple computer makers would see the huge leaps made by the M1 and capitalize on it for their companies. Their response was incredulous, claiming that probably wouldn't happen because Apple had a different objective with their processors. I am not surprised by this news.
There are ARM Linux notebooks like pinebook. There was Windows on ARM over decade ago. Issue was in Windows not in hardware.
@@sergeykish The issue is simple, there's not many ARM capable apps on Windows that matter, most production software and games rely heavily on x86 cores. Windows running on ARM is the easy part.

Surface laptops are excellent, minus battery life and pricing. 120hz refresh rate, 1800p display resolution, super light weight, adjustable SSD, and durable. The pricing around them are crap 💩 . MS thinks it has the brand power of Apple.
Jokes aside, I'm excited to see what the competition is up to. I do hope the new Snapdragon chips can compete with Apple's.

Apple is one of those companies that I want to like so badly but probably never will. Their design language and attention to detail is outstanding. Even the inside of their workstation computers are works of art, and that really speaks to me. Their ecosystem is too restrictive for my liking, but I can understand why many people like their seamless implementation of software and features. Sadly, I can never get over their anti-consumer business practices and refusal to avoid any and all accountability for mistakes they make.

I know it's parody, but MS released it's first ARM based laptop in 2012. MS released the Surface Pro X (with replaceable SSD) with full Windows 10 ARM 1 year before the first M based MacBook. Microsoft was into ARM based laptops long before Apple. Nice productivity laptop. Slow compared to the M processor, of course, but it keeps up with my typing.

The original Surface was amazing for being x86 in tablet form after iPad made us think ARM was what made that possible. Now it turns out ARM did make that possible!
Not only that the the key engineers who designed the m 1 series chip, pretty much have apple three finger and well created this Snapdragon chip. Hence why the advancement of the M2 or M3 are not so impressive.. As they have been designed by let's say the chaff that's left behind when the wheat has been taken out.

Apple fans can sleep tight knowing no other laptop has caught them. Even more assurance that the M4 Pro chip will be released in October 2024.
