Could be an unnoticed rendering error. 3d software can be extremely buggy, especially when you have a whole team working on a project.

More than likely either the texture was forgotten when making the trailer-style texture for the armadillo, or the object had its render visibility toggled off for some reason and they forgot to recheck it before rendering. Considering there's no real reason why the render visibility should have ever been turned off, I'd say it's likely that part of the texture was just forgotten by whoever made it.

It's from project zomboid if i remember. Since it doesn't have any animation of the dog of jumping on fences it uses the human animation instead.
Yeah, I am 90% sure that it's a Project Zomboid clip you are talking about, and the other commenters seem to agree. Animals don't exist in Zomboid yet, only through user-created mods. The only moving things in-game from my experience are players, zombies, and cars. Two of which are human, none of which are animal. Since animals don't usually exist, neither do the animations, so certain mods on the workshop may use human animations since that is what they have, or they didn't foresee certain scenarios that needed animating, such as jumping over a fence.

I personally think that Mojang should go back and refresh the old mob animations. Because all the new mobs look very out of place with their cool, smooth, detailed animations, while all the pre-1.18/1.19 mobs are just super stiff. But if they went back and tweaked the animations with old mobs, like they did with the Drowned in 1.20, with just subtle little rotations or idol animations, it would be SO cool. Maybe not as intense of an overhaul as the Fresh Animations pack, but something more vanilla for all players
NO! It's bad enough the game's artstyle has already been heavily compromised. They should lessen the animations of the newer mobs, they don't even fit the artstyle at all and the game runs badly enough as it is, so many game's artstyles have been ruined for no reason like TF2. The warden's animations are fine since it's meant to feel uncanny

In my opinion one of the things that gives Minecraft so much charm was the blocky robotic animations the old mobs had (and when I mean that I mean that old mobs don’t actually lift up their legs when walking. Honestly, that’s my main problem). It makes them feel like an old retro game. I think that future mobs should be like the panda. Have normal robotic animations but will occasionally have smooth animations. But I would like some old mobs to be animated a little bit more. Like librarians reading books, chickens sitting down when laying eggs, dogs rolling over, stuff like that.

i didn't know it had a release trailer 👀 and hey, if the wolf is lookin like that, maybe it's just an animation thing! lol. when wolves turn to look backward they often turn their entire bodies, so i guess element animation did that to make it look a tad bit smoother than just physically sliding around like the wolves in mc tend to do
