  • Love it when things like 3:38 happen. Serves Sock right for leaping across for Leylah’s shot 😂😂

  • Agreed with all the comments below. Frustrating to watch Sock and Fernandez making the same mistakes over and over and hitting it right to Peers or cross court when he was hugging the middle already.

  • Fernandez has too much trouble avoiding the opposition's net player...

  • Way too many “singles” type shots from Fernandez to win doubles at this level. How many returns did she hit where either Aussie at net just killed it?

    • I mean she barely plays doubles. Can’t really expect it to be instinct

  • Sock/Fernandez played a great match, but that first set was frustrating. The number of times they both kept hitting straight to Peers when he was at the net. He's one of the strongest doubles players in the world guys, he's not going to be fazed easily. They learned eventually, but it seemed to take way too long.

  • The weakest among four is Fernandez, meaning the result of defeating.

    • Makes sense, but you hope she learned a lot from playing singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in the same tourney. Sponge it up.

  • Sock and Fernadez were playing Dingles! Doubles need placement not power.

  • John McEnroe is right. They should really stop with the low five after each point when losing. It's quite pathetic. How about introducing a 100$ usd fine everytime it occurs.

  • Jack should have taken notes from Peers net play. Like he was all over the net and Jack just kept standing there, he was clueless.

  • You can see how much it annoys the career doubles players when they come up against singles players who just fancied an extra couple of matches. Fernandez' presence alone probably increased the crowd by 50% (Sock too but that's mostly because of his successful stint in singles) and yet she was by far the worst player there. Her doubles tactics are non-existent.

    • Well how are you supposed to get better if you don't play? Those career doubles players had to start somewhere too.

      @ABxx2011@ABxx2011 Жыл бұрын
    • @@ABxx2011 yes, career doubles players did also start at the bottom; in doubles, not singles, lol. Established singles players suddenly deciding to take it up, bringing in bigger crowds than anyone except the Bryan brothers could ever dream of, yet being worse to watch due to not training in doubles tactics. It's indirectly disrespecting the dedicated doubles players by suggesting it's something singles players can just pick up with little effort

    • @@rosePetrichor Storm Sanders has played as much singles as doubles, she's just better at doubles. Is it disrespectful for her to play singles? And Leylah and Sock won two rounds, so apparently they're not that bad. They lost to the 4 seed in a fairly close match, no shame in that.

  • Choke-tacular from sock and fernandez, so many break points in the first and then giving away a 5-2 lead in the second like it’s a gift basket. Come on guys, we as fans deserve better from you 😢

    • yeah, you know what, they probably didn't even want to win huh? it takes years and years of playing with the same person to play as efficiently as they might in singles. as a fan where you there to scream with encouragement, I'm guessing not so shut ya mouth keyboard warrior
