We explain why the Togo true story has a sadder ending than the Disney+ movie. Find out what really happened to Togo after the 1925 Serum Run to Nome, Alaska.

Togo, Balto, and every dog in that run were all heros. They all did something heroic, even if some acts were considered more heroic than others, they all deserve credit for saving so many lives.
True🙏
I couldn’t agree more.
The statue of balto in New York has balto wearing Togo’s award medals the governor of Alaska awarded to him
man if only all 150 dogs were actually able to enjoy their lives after saving a town of children *cough cough* seppala did *not* need to auction off kaasen's team even if it was out of spite. no dog deserves to be chained up for something they had no say in, and especially not after they played an integral part of what made the miraculous serum run a miracle success to begin with
Ya agreed .... But not every dog was about to fall off the mountain , every other team was not about to drown into that ice river , not everybody's foot was injured, not everybody was leading in that bad weather, not a bolt was thrown on the other side of the river to pull his team ,......no brother everybody's efforts are not the same 😔😔😔😔😔❤️❤️❤️
Togo was the goodest boy in the world. he has more heart than most people I know. Dogs are forever the best animals
Mark's Tech if people could only be as loyal brave loving and humble as dogs then this world would have hope
@@teufelhunden4272 Yep, I have noticed in each dog that my family owned, all 3 of the dogs we owned we loyal at the end.
When I first started mushing I thought i was a dog trainer.... But the more you mush, the more you realize how much there is you must learn from them. Optimism, discipline, the true meaning of leadership, gratitude, acceptance of death.
How about Hachiko
Ha true but they would eat you when they are hungry!
For 16 damn years I was told balto saved some for 90 YEARS THE WORLD BELIEVED IT used to love balto still do but he isn't held in high honor and respect that all belongs to Togo now...good boy Togo
Dwayne 16K yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
On the statue of Balto on central park it says "to all the sled dogs" Balto played his part too so dont Wright him off! He also was the one who suffered most for becoming the celebrity....read about balto and how he ended up in the Cleveland ohio zoo and you'll know what I mean!
@@briangillman735 I live In Cleveland and I seen his body NEVER said he didn't play a part he finished the journey but he didn't suffer the most he didn't run as long as Togo and his journey wasn't as dangerous as Togo's at least Togo got his own dog breed ig.. but my point was Balto was given A LOT of credit that he didn't deserve cant blame the dog tho I blame the news people
@@Dwayne_19K what I mean is being sold off to a circus and chained up and not cared for in the hot desert is the price Balto paid for simply doing his job....seppala wasnt exactly the nicest guy in the world and he was extremely pissed that Balto took the spotlight....whatever they were ALL his dogs....but he offed them to the circus and let them go to a place that's quite a bit less than ideal for siberians
@@briangillman735 Well if my dog suffered the way Togo and the others did and another dog gotten credit for it I'd be mad too and nobody said balto didn't play a part I'm saying his part was exaggerated and him wrongfully being given to a circus hate to say it but has NOTHING to do with what I'm saying....
Everyone is hating on Balto when it was the reporters. Togo still has a reputation٫ not as much as Balto but he still has one. Balto's story is the one people tell because he was a young dog that lead without experience through a harsh blizzard for thirty miles. Togo was an experienced dog who did it 200+. Togo is the serum hero٫ and Balto is the young dog that never gave up٫ despite his inexperience. Now that is a story. They should have a story with both Balto and Togo in it.
They should have told the story about how more dogs have died in the iditarod than even RAN in the serum run. Mushing is cool. but racing is bad news. Every dog in the run was a hero. not just balto and togo. the number one rule in mushing is "your only as good as your worst dog"
Think of Togo as an experienced boxer who punished his opponent for the first 11 rounds and then Balto came in and knocked the guy out in the 12th.
@@Whoopdido777 this exactly
I checked in Wikipedia that there is a 2nd movie about Togo and Balto. It is called The Great Alaskan Race. I have yet to watch it, but I will.
how about fox ?
I've known Balto for many decades now as he is a hero..now watching Togo, I'd say he is a hero...but all of the dogs who took part in the serum run are all heroes.i salute all of them for being brave and reliable.Good job Balto and TOGO❤️
Yeah same
So it's not Balto's fault he got recognized the damn reporter is! Get the full story before printing! ... Much respect to ALL the snow dogs and the men that led them 👏👏
and poor Balto suffered for this :(
Yes respect all of them.
It is not Balto fault.....but I wouldn't say poor Balto....he is honored and well known to all....more so than togo
Noy nOy He was selled to a Freak Show in LA to live a life in chainz - His fame and attention only made his owner rich and was the reason he was selled - I'd say poor Balto, Togo was lucky compared to Balto. Both are true heroes.
Nope, not the reporter's fault. Balto's handler took the credit when he clearly knew he wasn't the real hero (as well as Balto). The rest of the damn town didn't set the record straight, too.
Actually, after leaving Togo in Maine, Seppala went back to Alaska, but visited Maine and Togo several times between 1927 and 1929 including on Dec 5th when Togo died. I recommend the book The Cruelest Miles, which tells the story and the aftermath.
Thanks for that xx

I don't think it went so bad for Togo at the end. He went on a victory tour, and got to hang out with a lady in comfort who wrote a book about him. The owner even saw him at the end.

This isn't a sad ending at all. I'm now 70 and I've owned and raised both Siberian huskies and Malamutes (along with a few German Shepherds) since my early 20s. I have a small farmstead in Colorado, completely fenced, where they can roam and run free on about 4 acres. Every one of my dogs lived in the house at night and it wasn't infrequent in the winter to wake up and find my wife and I buried in dogs. Each and every one of my buddies was well fed and well cared for. Nearly every one of them lived to old age, and that's about forty dogs. On occasion I had up to five at a time. I've been with so many of them, and held them, when the vet came out to put them to sleep. They all had great lives, and I've lived a pretty good life myself with them being a part. It has always been sad and heartbreaking when one dies, but I don't think they or I would have changed a thing.
You Sir will be remembered in my memory. Thank you for taking such good care of the dogs.
Wow!!
Thank you, for taking good care of those beautiful animals. You are are an incredible human being.
How do you cope with the loss of your dogs 😭? Im asking cause I've got 3 myself
Togo had a much better ending than Balto, who was sold to a circus in Arizona, which he probably suffered being a pure bred husky. Also, because he was spaded he couldn't be bred and retire like Togo.
On an interesting side note, despite Gunnar Kaasen being the musher that guided Balto, Leonhard Seppala owned both Balto and Togo. This is accurately depicted in the movie. Seppala felt that Balto was not good enough to put on his own team for the Serum Run. In fact, Gunnar Kaasen had to pair Balto with another lead dog, Fox, for the final push into Nome. It's true that newspapers didn't mention Fox because they felt the dog's name would be confusing.
Seppala teamed togo with another lead dog, fritz during the run. Read ryker's book and seppala's journal.
My heart goes for all the sled dogs who spent their lives for that Serum Run until they burnt their lungs and injured themselves in able to deliver those serums that saved lives in Nome. All those dogs were heroes. Not just Togo, or Balto. I could only wish for a Rainbow Bridge for these four-legged heroes. I couldn't help but cry.
I just spent a year and a half researching the life of Leonhard Seppala and his dogs and wrote a book about it. Lots of confusing and often hyped up information out there. Togo was an amazing little dog that Leonhard though would never amount to much. But when he got in the team he became Leonhard's favorite lead dog. He died a age 13, having been born in 1916. He was well cared for and died with dignity. My book "TOGO and Leonhard" will be out in about two months.
HURRY BRAH HUUUUUUUUUUURRY
Congrats on being published!

@@Pawpaw-ck7it It's called TOGO and Leonhard and should be out in May/June.
It just so amazing how a dog can care so much for someone and be so smart and heroic the movie made me in tears I’m inspired
I wouldn’t call this a sad ending. Better than Balto got thats for sure.
@Elizabeth Sharp Apparently he was neutered at a young age so he couldn't have pups, after he was relegated to the vaudeville circuit along with his team, later his sponsors sold him and the others to the highest bidder so Gunnar Kaasen could get back home to Alaska. The dogs ended up chained in a small area in a novelty museum and freak show in Los Angeles. But they were saved in the end. While visiting Los Angeles, George Kimble, a former prize fighter turned businessman from Cleveland, discovered the dogs unhealthy and badly treated. so working together with the newspaper The Plain Dealer to bring Balto and his team to Cleveland, Ohio. On March 19, 1927, Balto and six companions were brought to Cleveland and given a hero's welcome in a triumphant parade. The dogs were then taken to the Brookside Zoo (now the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo). After Balto died in 1933. So at least it didn't end THAT badly either for Balto.
@Elizabeth Sharp The circuit was for racing his master raced with him and the team, the zoo came way after when a fan of the dog found him, the zoo was where he "retired"
Compared to what happened to Balto how his life seems pretty tame Balto was actually sold to a vaudeville act was neglected and treated horribly until he was rescued so I think Togo was the lucky one .
Togo was also bred and taken care of in a loving environment. Balto because he was spaded didn't have such luxuries...
so now i know the truth that balto was abuse but was rescued I fell horribly to him after realize that why he was honored than togo even though togo has run of most difficult part..balto was honored for how many years because he was sold and abused..im so touching for balto even is already long time ago as a dog lover I feel sad for this dog the real hero and loyalty dog..
seppala sold balto out of sheer spite even though he totally didn't need to which is funny but also kind of infuriating
Story time- After watching Togo i was crying so bad. I missed my 1st pet dog “moti” he was street dog crying near his mom’s dead body and all the other puppies were dead. I can’t see him like this pick and bring him home. My parents were not animal people. Next day i went to school my dad took puppy and give it to someone who live outside the town. I came home parents told me, he run away. I cry day or two then i forget, that same weekend i was playing outside my house i saw a puppy running to me 😢i sit and he jump on me i hug him. That was my same puppy idk how he finds me. I went to my parents so angry and told them don’t dare to sparate us. I will take care of him, he was so adorable he always stand near me untill my school bus come and wait when I arrive home from school, mom said he never eat until i come home. He was my best friend. I came to Canada for further studies. After 2 year he died he was 13 year old. Nobody told me untill months when i want to see him on video call. I cried 2days straight, i missed him today 💔
Aman, sell this story to Disney, so sad yet such a sweet story! thank you
Frank Simmons thanks
May Moti be resting peacefully in the afterlife. 💖
I’m sorry to hear your story but I’m glad I’m not the only one that cried at this film. The bit that got me was when Togo was the ending on the hill and then the next minute he isn’t there and the scene ends followed by the text slowly fading away with the remaining text being Togo’s name and that also fading away. I cried so much.
Aman kaur Dhillon Moti was blessed to have you in his life. I hope that we will see our pets again on the other side.
It's a sad ending because Seppala had to give away Togo so he can live his life to the fullest after the run. How sad it must be for Togo. But at the same time I'm glad he found new companions. I don't feel so bad for Balto, I feel bad for Fox who wasn't given any recognition. I feel like firing the incompetent newspaper guy for not giving credit for the other lead dog, Fox, who was partnered with Balto. As someone who is a dog lover all her life and an owner of huskies, how I wish I'd seen Seppala Siberians (Togo's line) in person. That's a like a dream come true.
Compared to what happened to Balto, Togo lucked out
"I don't feel so bad for Balto" yeah, neither did seppala when he auctioned off balto to borderline animal abuse. Reality can hit hard but it took ruining over a dozen lives (ones that were heroes no less) for a single attempt at bring *one* life into the spotlight. seppala would eventually succeed in his efforts, but the truly sad ending does not belong to togo. Balto's story, one of heroism and loyalty, ended in punishment and grief with no chance of continuing all because of the stars misaligning for a single husky dog who was caught in the crossfire of Leonhard Seppala and newspaper media. After risking his life to complete the serum delivery, said husky would go on to be used as nothing more than a cheap museum attraction. Ironically, Balto had to be rescued from the museum and would live his life out in the Cleveland Zoo, a climate none of the team was used to and a place none of them could live as they used to. Balto would die resented by his owner and forgotten by his musher. Balto would die with no chance of a legacy like Togo does. This is the real tragic story following the serum run that many people don't see.
I'm here after watching Jon Solo's video about Balto and Togo. As a kid who watched the Balto animated movies, i really loved Balto since then and it didn't changed at all till now especially when i found out how horrible Balto and his team went through. I'm so glad they were rescued! Togo deserves to be credited but isn't all of the dogs who were used during that time were also heroes? Yes they were. They deserve a well and peaceful life.
I just finished watching the movie. The entire time I keep wondering why Balto wasnt mentioned until the end of the video. Man did I not know that Balto took the credit. All the dogs were heros and should be credited. But Togo was the real Hero to me..makes me cry watching the movie and glad I learned Togo tonight.
When I'm older I want to move to Alaska, and my entire life I've always wanted a Husky so when I get one I want to name it after a true hero named Togo. I hope he or she will be Togo, a loyal, loving, and brave dog Edit: Wait im trynna remember when i wrote this😃 hol' up-
Be good owner they be good dogs
just don't go sacrificing other people for self pride and you'll be all set basically, don't pull a leonhard seppala.
Hey, Balto was still a good boy even if the reporter got it mixed up. He traveled more than he was supposed to (another musher had fallen asleep so they kept on going and made it to Nome) and it was his first time in the lead role as well. While it’s becoming more known it was Togo and his team that did most of the work, that doesn’t mean that Balto was nothing. Balto somehow ended up being chained to a stage at a dime shoe in Los Angelos where a guy from Cleveland, Ohio saw him and his team living in deplorable conditions. After getting enough donations from people in Cleveland, Balto and his team lived the rest of their lives at the Cleveland Zoo. When he passed away, his body was also mounted and has become a permanent part of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Since his death, Balto had returned to Alaska twice for short visits. As of today, you can still see Balto on display and outside of the wolf lodge at the Cleveland Zoo are two small bronze statues. One of Balto and the other.... Togo.
One morning I wanted to watch balto thinking he did it all and there was no such thing of Togo. Then I researched for hours and hours realizing what happened to Togo or what Togo was when I finished I was in tears because he is the most loyal dog his story is like no other Rest In Peace your the best good boy.
And what is so special about Togo to cry about, Balto had much sadder story than Togo. While Togo lived in peace and love, Balto was abused, sold, got into zoo and was used in many TV Shows for money
@@fadilbosnjo3705 sadder is the fact that leonhard seppala is the reason for all of that
True, Disney did not end the movie on the facts of Togo’s end. But the story was about Togo’s heroic effort. At an age when most dogs are in decline. The movie brought out Togo’s loyalty, courage and stamina to run that race of life. It’s very hard to watch your beloved dog decline, I know, because we’ve lost 7 that were very close to us plus 6 others in our family that we knew very well. Now we have two more that are declining with health issues. We’ll do our best to keep them going and comfortable but at some point we’ll have to make the tough decision to let go.
I'm in the same boat with my lady
Wat was da title off dat movie please most greaful
This wasn't that sad for Togo, Balto actually had a much sadder life after the serum run, mainly as a result of his new found fame.
Julia Miville yeah they dumped him in Cleveland zoo and he died at 14
Devon Nalta 14 human years that means he was about 80-90 in dog years. But he could of lived longer ngl
My admiration and respect go to Togo, Leonhard Seppala, Balto and all the other dogs who ran to Nome for the serum in 1925💖💖💖💖RIP
Im crying he was conpletely a heroe
Balto was also Seppala’s dog. I believe if I’m correct he gave the sled team with Balto to Gunnar kaasen because they wanted to make a movie with the dogs and kaasen in Hollywood. Then kaasen went back to Alaska(some sources say seppala ordered him to come back because he worked for seppala but I’m not sure if that’s true) but he left the dogs in Hollywood. And some guy made a dime a look show with the dogs where they were leashed to the sled and kept in terrible conditions for people to pay a dime to see them. Then their saving grace George Kimble recognized them and was able to get donations to buy the sled team and that’s how they ended up in the zoo where they were much better cared for until they all passed away. In my opinion kaasen was an attention hog and seppala hated Balto even though it was kaasens fault they got all the credit. I understand Togo was the one who did the longest stretch of the race but it wasn’t Balto’s fault he got the fame it was kaasens. Seppala clearly had animosity towards Balto however, even falling him a scrub dog
it's not entirely clear how balto and the rest of the team ended up in the dime museum's hands, i found the source that says kaasen simply left the dogs with the tour promotor after randomly deciding to go back to alaska, but other sources say seppala straight up sold the dogs to saul lesser, and i remember seeing somewhere that an auction was held to sell the dogs where kaasen lost (pretty sure the third one is not correct, but the first two are both very plausible)
Man as a kid I always thought the hero was balto, which he was even all the other dogs but it upset me knowing that togo made bigger sacrifice and didn't get any of the recognition he deserves
I think mounting his skin to create a likeness that can live on is actually quite an honorable way for his memory to live on. However, I’m also planning for my body to be donated to science and the idea of a piece of me being looked upon with reverence or helping a young surgeon perfect his/her art is an ideal way to end up. Not rotting away or embalmed, but continuing to serve humanity as a reminder of sacrifice made long after my demise. If no one wants my body I’d like it returned straight into the earth to give back to the earth that nourished me through life. They kept his skin as a reminder of his sacrifice and amazing legacy. His bones were likely kept for study in order to determine what made him him so great. Was it in his skeleton? Is his secret hidden in his DNA? Or, was he a fantastic animal because of his spirit? We’ll never know for sure.
I watched the movie and loved it. I knew about Balto, but had never heard of Togo. It was great to learn what he and Seppala did. However, concerning Balto...I looked at Wikipedia, and yeah I know the info on Wikipedia can be dubious sometimes, but it’s possible that Balto’s participation in the serum run wasn’t what we’ve been led to believe. Apparently a lot of mushers at the time doubted that he actually led Kaasen’s team because of his dog track record. No record exists of Seppala ever using him in runs or races prior to 1925 and Seppala himself said that “Balto was never in a winning team”. Because the pictures and video of Kaasen and Balto taken in Nome were recreated hours after their arrival once the sun had risen, speculation still exists as to whether Balto's position as lead dog was staged or exaggerated for media purposes. Even in the movie he was partnered up with another lead dog named Fox, but the media decided to ignore him. Maybe because Balto sounds cooler...I don’t know.
We have a family tree from our Aurora Snow Princess leading back to Togo. It's done in small type with photos where the family who did the research could find them. It's around 15 feet long & 3 feet deep. With Kennel names as well. The last puppy from Aurora's first litter lived to be 16 & 4 months & we had to let him go for much the same reason as Toto. Thanks for this update to our knowledge base Regards from AlbaLaskian Siberians (the Alba is pronounced Alpa as in the Scots Gaelic)
It's probably said to be a sad ending because Seppala gave him to Elizabeth. So they were separated for a long time and only reunited just before Togo's death. This was never showed in the movie but still it's sad and a heart-wrenching situation when a loyal dog dies.
there’s good boys. but Togo is THE GOOD BOY.
Long live Togo and all the dogs and men who risked their lives ❤️ I can’t believe everyone went this whole time without knowing the truth 😢
I am glad they made Balto. I wish they also mentioned Togo. However, even if Togo deserves all love and praise in the world, Balto and every other dog from the sledges also deserve it.

Hello everyone, as you know I’ve been working on a petition to get a statue of Togo up! Togo is the famous sled dog who delivered the serum in Alaska, and at 12 years old led his team over 250 dangerous miles, and even managed to save his mushers life. Balto is best known for this run, and even has his own huge statue in Central Park, even though he only led about 50 miles. I’m not undermining Balto’s efforts, only shedding light on Togo’s! I just got off of the phone with the city council and head of parks and recreation of Poland, Maine and he loves the idea to place a Togo statue within the community. He told me to keep acquiring signatures, as well as crowdsourcing and fundraising. He's also given me the names of local sculptors to inquire about creating this piece. I'm so excited and could really use everyone's support. Let's get Togo the recognition he deserves! He is spending the next week talking with the committee on where the statue should be placed within the town and is getting back to me next week. Poland, Maine is where he retired and was laid to rest so it's only right to honor him and his spirit there! I believe it was close enough. He went out to stud, he was well cared for, he lived a few more years, and even if he didn't live with Seppala he saw him several more times.

I don't find it sad. He was actually cared for and Sepalla parted with him just so he could live in comfort for the remaining years of his life. For a dog, it's good enough but I'm pretty sure he also really missed his human.
Not really "sadder" aside from the whole owner giving up a beloved pet thing. Togo got to live out the rest of his days in comfort. He deserved to retire, especially considering his age. Seems Seppala cared for Togo's well-being. Poor Balto wasn't so lucky. Regardless, the Togo movie was great! Nearly cried like a baby at the end of it. lol

Once in a lifetime you come across great animals. Togo was one of those dogs. I know his owner loved him so much he let the kind woman spoil him. Togo deserved all the attention. Bless his doggy soul for his love & service to man. Great dog. Great story.
Every dog on all 29 teams are heroes... yes there were 29 teams of dogs that ran sections of the route to deliver the serum... and have you ever heard anyone mention the names of the lead dogs on any of the other sled dog teams? I haven't

This is far more good and comfortable ending than Balto, who was left in a zoo to die alone. Seppala was really a good musher who loved his dog for which he didn't give away his pup on auction for show business and profit, how Balto and his team was done. I m glad Togo didn't get famous.
um... seppala was the one who gave away balto and his team, not kaasen seppala said himself he hated the dog so its realistic that he sold the dogs out of spite
Togo's line/lineage is still around in Maine if you care to look for them. Still quite a few mushers out there taking care of it.
I just saw the movie. Beautiful, GOD bless those souls. #Togo
That feels when you realized that your beloved childhood hero dog is nothing but a lie, still love Balto but so glad that i know who the real hero is after so many years, nice knowing you Togo
?????? no?? balto did his part in the serum run and even had to run two legs because the musher who was actually last wasn't prepared for their leg; balto is nowhere near a lie, the stars simply misaligned for him. i say misaligned because this is also the reason why leonhard seppala (the owner of both togo and balto) decided it was a wonderful idea to sell balto (and the rest of kaasen's team that belonged to him for some reason) to a place where the dog was essentially subjected to animal abuse because seppala wanted togo in the spotlight. seppala got what he wanted, and now theres a super intriguing and heartbreaking story to tell just know that it isn't Togo's.
Love the story of Togo's life.Amaizing!!
Just watched this story. Very touching. To me all those dogs are heroes!

Seppala, finn by blood, raised in norway, and Togo, great pair and hard workers.
Togo is a smart dog when he was a puppy and he was the surviver of the heart
what dog breed is togo?
I would never ever give my dog away, specially after all he did for me. All they have is their owner and is sad to learn that Togo was given away when he most needed to stay with his true owner and family! If you want to have a dog, please never give him away after it gets old! Shame on you Leonhard Seppala! That is as cold as a person can get and I don't care if he went to visit him!
He gave the dog to his beloved friend so it could live out the rest of his life in peace. Seppala didn't want him to keep sledding as all working dogs have to retire at some point. However, the team of other dogs still have to continue working. I don't think Togo would have been happy seeing other dogs get to work but he himself can't. That would be the result if Seppala kept him. He did not 'give him away' in a shallow sense, it was out of deeper compassion for the dog. Also, neither of all these people are still alive. Please stop disrespecting them by saying things such as saying "shame on you". Being truly cold is selling Togo off and exploiting him in his last days.
I guess he just want a better life for him that's why he gave him away, people who can look after him well. it's not that he doesn't care, he care so much that's why he gave him away.
Togo didn't run back this time, isn't he ?
balto was seppala's dog too y'know...

I loved the movie Balto and loved his story since I was a kid. I even named my late dog after Balto. And Balto was the honest to god best dog I have ever had, even my grand parents who had many dogs said Balto was one of the best dogs they have seen. She was part Husky / Chow. But to watch this movie and find out Balto wasn't the main dog sled savior that he was portrayed to be and he wasn't even the main LEAD but a SECONDARY LEAD. That's just crazy. That's like if you did 93% of the work and then the lazy half timer strolls in at the end and does 7% and then gets all the praise and rewards and recognition. I dunno that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth towards Balto and the other guy. Not to say Balto is a bad dog, he is a good boy to and he did his miles but to be framed as the iconic dog that saved Nome is a joke. That praise belonged to Togo far more than it did Balto.
U obviously didnt understand story about balto and togo.balto was the smartest and fastest one in their team but he couldnt lead dogs bcs he was much younger than togo. U cant say that balto did 7 % of job when he was the one that runnes fastest and bcs of that he had much harder time than other dogs, cause its pretty harsh when u are not leading but still being on top of the group, and at the end of the day we all shall know that the stroy wasnt like it was told, it was a long run for dogs but not that hard like its said in balto and togo movies. Do u really thought that balto and togo could run after everything they experienced in movies, like hell nah dude. But of course big respect to togo too, at the end of the day he had better life than poor balto. He was treated so bad after he got fame.
bro talks about balto like he was a full ass person my man balto was a dog, a dog who did what he was told and a dog who did his part to rescue nome. only difference is balto got treated like shit despite doing everything he needed to to make the serum run possible is it balto's fault he got all the credit? no. is it balto's fault togo got sidelined for a while? no. is it togo's fault that balto got sent to live in borderline animal abuse? in a way, yes, actually. balto didn't run the entire thing, sure, but did he do what every good boi husky shouldve? yes, he did his part. Balto did absolutely nothing wrong, and to address him as some sort of evil *person* is just plain blind.
Dogs just don't live long enough. Maybe that is why they give us so much love in such a short time. I hope I get to see this movie soon. We have a Siberian and she is so sweet, and yes she loves to run!
The second movie to ever make me cry.
First one?
Our makers beautiful creations. We dont deserve them 😢
Without Togo doing the 1st leg of the run, obviously, Bolto wouldn't had a chance to deliver on the 2nd and last leg to Nome. Just, thank God for these 2 wonderful, powerful, faithful and loyal dogs and their mushers who got an extremely dangerous job done. Thank God we now know the true story of both the men and dogs. Let's not forget the team of dogs either under the lead of Togo and Bolto and their brave mushers! To the children❤
Just watched this movie not even knowing that this day (Dec 5 pacific time) is the day Togo die. I think I gave recognition for what he have done. Thank you Togo.
The film doesn't directly state that Togo lived out the remainder of his life with Seppala. It simply doesn't go into the cross-country tour, or introduce Elizabeth Ricker. All it does show is Seppala have a vision of Togo years later, looking down on him from a promontory. This was an inference that Togo would always be with Seppala, and his spirit would always live in Alaska, where the great dog had always made such a profound mark.
I have a book about Togo. It's called "Togo" lol. But it is written by Kate Kilimo. Super good read, totally recommended it.
Togo and Balto are all heroes. Good boy Togo, Good Boy Balto
Togo and Balto both were a huge part of the serum run
In the same year 1929 there was a loyal dog waiting for his master in front of the Shibuya station, Japan named HACHIKO for 10 years 😭😭😭 if you want to shed tears please watch the film Hachiko: A Dog's Story TOGO BALTO HACHIKO Will be remembered forever ❤❤❤
Good boy Togo! A real hero❤
i been broke so many times i don't know what to believe I been lie all my life
Togo same with my dog kiko...am sad.
Anyone heard of the story of Hachiko?
Holy Cow!! They stuffed Togo and made him into a display?? How sad! I really wish I had not watched this video.
Well Balto was too. I suppose they were dead, so its for the sake of history.
What wrong that?
We raise huskies ,we also have a male named Juno looks exactly like Togo, i fig, close have had people come to us looking a puppy and see him and say he looks just like Togo.....didnt know what they meant..after seeing the trailers i now know ,and he does exactly ..no joke...
One of my huskies is a direct descendant of Togo
I'm a Norwegian, my big sister's husband is related to Leonhard Seppala and named their son after Leonhard Seppala.
Togo needs a statue for crossing a frozen body of water for the second time. Not to mention, it was at night and the ice was completely broken the second time.
we dont know, that crossing the sea part might be added script by the writer for the moviee,,,
that second sentence is taken from the movie lmao
and also togo already has like 3 statues
I AM CRYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I cant watch this without balling.
If I had a dog I would never have him displayed for people to see
Leonhard Seppala is played by Willem Defoe in this movie
This isn't sad. What happened to Balto was sad. After the run Balto's team also went on tour in the lower 48 but after the tour the owner sold them highest bidder and went back to Alaska. They were chained up in a museum and poorly treated for years until they were finally rescued.
dogs are amazing beings, they are wonderful souls! Wonderful movie!
It’s a great movie. They did an exceptional job with it.
I see some of these bland comments about "every dog was a hero" and such, and it makes me hurt. The point is Togo never got the recognition he deserved. While the credit was given to a lesser dog (Balto) who only ran somewhere around 50-50 miles, it was Togo who ran the longest and the most dangerous leg. So, no... not all dogs were equal.
Togo at least got the recognition he deserved eventually. Outside of Balto, Togo, and Fox, try even naming any of the other over hundred of dogs that did their part in the serum run off the top of your head. If that's too difficult, try naming any of the other dogs who ran 261 miles alongside Togo. the reality is that those bland comments are more or less correct: every dog was a hero, including togo. And almost every one of those dogs was treated like a hero. *almost.* take a guess as to who wasn't and why.
Good boy togo 😭
How can one leave their dog… I could never just thinking about it fires me up into an angry sad fire ball
Togo lived at leisure and had many mates and children. He must have been happy.
togo has a true gamebred dog, all heart, no quit.
I want to see togo body in person huhu
Damn I thought the ending we got was emotional I still haven't recovered from it btw, but this ending would've made me drown in my own tears...
Sire puppies? I thought Togo was 10 or 12 years old when he made the serum run?
Didn't both Togo and Balto lead the serum run
Yew but Togo had all the difficult part
Minus 2 degree gives me run for life, what these guys did......total honor worthy
