Shelby is Hollywood's newest star in "A Dog's Way Home," the story of a lost puppy's epic adventure to reunite with her family. But the real life story of this dog’s journey to stardom is remarkable. Shelby was found scavenging for food at a Tennessee landfill. She was skinny and malnourished, but sparkled with personality, said Animal Control Officer TJ Jordi. The shelter posted a photo of Shelby, and she was hired for the movie. #InsideEdition

  • I just finished reading “Shelby’s Story” and it was really good. It was literally about Shelby’s Hollywood life. I totally recommend it to whoever likes dog books 🐶📚

    • I’m reading it right now and I thought it was not a real story because I also read Bailey story and his story wasn’t based off of a true story, but when I read that Shelby starred in a dogs way home I was like oh wow this is a true story but yeah, it’s a really good book. I still really miss splotch

    • I can't remember if I have ever watched Homeward Bound, but this movie A Dog's Way Home is it's own wonderful heartwarming story!!!!!!! I love every minute of it! I don't think Homeward Bound compares to it! Love Big Kitten!!!!!!

  • Exactly the same dog we got... The dog (girl) was dumped with her brother in a box in the dunes near the village of De Zilk (Netherlands) They ware 10 days old at the time. We don't know wat kind of ras the dogs were, until we saw the move... It was an exact copy of our dog, now 4 months old.. In the movie was told it was a pitbull ???
