"potholes and Peugeots" 😂😂😂😂
Peugeot bit has killed me 🤣🤣🤣 so true though
Haha got me too but in Australia they'd be Roos or Kia's
This dude has the best analogies and metaphors on KZhead. I sometimes try and memorise them for later use lol.
haha thank you!
standard northerner
@@sirianofmorley Lol
There are far too many, not funny and just gets really annoying after a few minutes 🤦🤦
"You just sit there in comfort and let it do it's thing and waft around, not knowing whether you've went over a pothole or a Peugeot." 😂
I love that low key humor you are using... "You have to be a nerd to tell the difference, so I am gonna tell you the difference". Love it!
Haha thanks!
Right then, off to autotrader to save all the Range Rover Sports I will probably never buy 🙋🏻♂️ A day in the life of a petrolhead 🤷🏻♂️
haha glad its not just me!
So true🤣🤣
You should see my AutoTrader garage of ‘money no object’ cars 😂
Me too
im doing my research on these range rover sport now. Im looking into buying a 2015 - 2017 year model not the facelifted once.
“pothole or a Peugeot” 🤣🤣🤣
lol I was proud of that one
That is why I love your videos, even if I have zero in the cars you’re reviewing at the time, I still watch them. Keep up the great content. PS, give us a shout if you get a B7 RS4, I want out of my Golf GTD for one of those! Ha ha (seriously though)
🤣 Matt's one liners are just too good
Yup, I have no interest in Range Rovers yet I watched every second. Love Matts vids. Breath of fresh air , no nonsense, highly informative and the humours right up my street. The way certain car shows used to be before big Egos and nonsense took over. Keep them coming 👏🏻👏🏻🍻
It was a good line.
Just got a 2014 HSE Sport a few months ago (the Super Charged V6 here in the States), and it's a dream. We got it with decent mileage (40k miles) and a great price (about $35k / £27k), and we managed to get the one with the heated steering wheel and the center console fridge. They are incredibly capable and you're absolutely right! They're a great find if they're in decent shape (ours was garage kept by the first owner), and if well maintained, they make an excellent option! Love your videos here in the US!
I was momentarily distracted and thought I heard you say that Adele lost 400 kilos....Good For Her! I love range Rover interiors - clean, well laid out, looks and feels expensive - like someone cared. By the way, congratulations on hitting 75k subscribers. You have one of the best auto vlogs there is....now let's get you to 100k.
Thanks very much! I appreciate it
I had a Russian doll once, very expensive to maintain but every so often when taken for a ride put a big smile on my face !
I had one myself. The best ride of my life :D
I _really_ hope these comments are a continuation of Matt's simile. Btw did you get a puncture repair kit with them?
I’ve got a 2016, puts a smile on the dial, every time
And a big hole in your pocket
I bought a 2016 V8 4.4 Autobiography last year (2019) with less than 50k miles and it was about 45% of its original new price. I absolutely love it!
They're great value
You have such an infectious personality! You were made for this. Thank you for this review. I’m literally driving up to Alexandria Va on Sunday to purchase my first Range Rover. It’s a 2015 and Dark Grey just like the one you’re reviewing in this video. Your review helped me get over jitters of buying an “older” model. Thanks for this! You’re awesome!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new car
Your sense of humor kills me every time 🤣🤣🤣great review as always it's a lovely car and they're quick for their size 🇿🇦
By far the best car presenter on youtube To the point witty never cringe watching this guy unlike the others worthy of a spot on TV as a presenter
Matt I love Sports. Fantastic practical cars. The V6 TD is great, economical and efficient. I’m getting your viewing figures up Matt. I’m going back and watching all your Land & Range Rover videos. 👌
Convinced me, I must have watched this and the 405 vid 20 time each. Decided to go for l494. Deposit down on a 2014 with 43k miles. You only live once , thanks for the advice.
Congrats! Enjoy it
I've recently been offered a 2015 3.0 diesel with 11K miles from a close family member thats owned it from new. You've just made my mind up for me.
That sounds like a great find
Lucky to get offered such a good car
Hi. Another really good video - and an honest review. I have just sold a 64 plate and after 12 months ownership I made £500 because the main dealers have no stock - I did want a Vogue 12 months old but ................ walked away with a new Defender SE and its an amazing car! More Discovery than Defender in bloodline but there is enough Defender in there just to warrant the name. Keep the videos coming, especially with another lockdown - get your drive full of cars this time!
Plenty of SVR’s in Cobham, driven by footballers in tracksuits and torn jeans...😂😂
Found this channel the other week and can’t stop watching love the honest reviews. Hope you get your Christmas card from the Rover owners club this year 😂
Hahaha I didnt get one last year. Fingers crossed for this year. The elderly management team might have forgotten
Excellent review mate, we have a 2015 hse dynamic with the black pack and we love it, I've been waiting for this review for ages. And thanks for the reply's to my DMs means a lot.
No probs! They're great cars
Great ...that was about the best review of any car I have heard...you covered a whole range of issues honestly. Thankyou
Glad it was helpful!
Very entertaining Matt. Had one in 2015, loved it and in grey too.
In 2017, a year before the last significant upgrade to the L494, there was a very light upgrade of the in-car entertainment. It gained a new screen, which was effectively the top half of the Touch Pro Duo system that went first into the Velar when it was released. Significantly, it no longer had the buttons at either side - the whole area was now LCD. It got the SIM function in the centre console box, along with the WiFi hotspot that provided and a better Sat Nav data integration. The response of the on-screen buttons was massively improved, and it is upgradable by a dealer to match the latest layout, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you can afford this 2017 facelift model, then I believe it's well worth it. Everything else, however, is the same as the 2015 model.
Thats interesting! Cheers
Love the review.. I have just changed up from an 2012 evoque which I had for 4 years, with just normal servicing costs. Which pulled my heavy caravan up and down the Devon and Cornwall hills, with no surprises and breakdowns to a 2017 RRS hse 3.0d 306 hp in Loire blue with 23000 on the clock and I just love it. First thing I had fitted was a ghost ll immobiliser for peace of mind.. what I didn’t want was low profile wheels, the t.v. Which I never used in the evoque,I hope to keep this one for at least 10 years which will then have me approaching 80yrs I haven’t any warranty but will maintain and drive this lovely car the same way as the evoque. I honestly get such a buzz from driving it as smoothly and as safely as possible.. this car seems to give me a pat on the back every time I get behind the wheel, it makes me feel as though I deserve it. Daft I know, but there you go....
Congrats! Good choice. I think Loire blue is a great colour
Good all round review with some humour thrown in. Very good 👍🏻
You’re getting some top cars 🚗 🚘 on the channel now Matt! You’re one of my top vloggers. Keep up the good work mate, always look forward to your new vids 🙂👍
Would love to see your L405 come on youtube again :) and with these big cars, maybe a parking demonstration in spaces next to 'peasant' sized cars would be helpful too! Beautiful cars.
Absolutely agree on RR...I have a 2012 RR HSE full size. Bought as used in 2016 while many friends advising not to...my ownership experience is very positive so far during the last 4+ yrs and the car is fabolous to drive.... I am not.at all intending to move out of RR..
Wow your review is amazing. And some good advice. I'm looking to buy a 2017 sport autobiography and you have literally put my mind at ease
Very honest and practical review, thankyou!
Mate, you're the one person I was waiting eagerly for a review of this sport from, now we got it. Could you do a review of the '12-'14 Cayenne GTS when you can get your hands on one?..
Loving the Miami vice Crockett touch Matt I haven’t seen pushed up sleeves on a jumper since the 80s 👍🏼
Hahaha They're making a comeback I heard - rolled up sleeves that is... I've no idea about Tubbs and Crocket.
Just loved Miami vice
“Make sure you buy the HSE”. You sound like Marie Antoinette, last Queen of France. And whatever happened to ‘ten to two’. You’re wafting round Lancashire in an unguided missile. 😝
Matt another great and informative review - perfect weather and location for the Range Rover in its natural habitat rather than the crowded streets of London.
Haha thats right!
The newer shaped sport is so much nicer than the old model. Another great review mate! Look forward to a Velar review!
"Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding..." Honestly, I am still laughing at that one... Absolutely brilliant video. Not just for the quips and laughs, but for real information and straight delivery of the facts too. Thoroughly enjoying your channel! :)
Love your channel bro... so nice to see somebody doing and talking about what they love.. And getting payed for it. 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
Absolutely love my '15 RRS Dynamic in Corris Grey and blackout package. Did an AP-Tune and SC pulley upgrade then finished it off with a QuickSilver exhaust. Audio heaven! Thx for the video!!
Very nice!
Another one of your excellent review just like the one you did on the white 2010, you talk about good and bad and I love the fact that you mention the bad in details dont just glide over it. I am in the market at the moment hence watching lot of reviews but still can not decide as all my life I haf Mercs from G to GL so on but fancy a change.
Matt I have just one word; brilliant: I can not understand how you are not on TV, great videos thank you
Thanks! I appreciate it
Hi Mat, great advice. 9months in and no real breakdowns for me in my l494 HSE dynamic, pan roof and black pack+360cams. After 3 weeks the EPB stuck on for a few hours, no real reason. Been off-road in UK and Spain. Since then, faultless and luxurious. 3 week trip to Spain with 3000 miles. Perfect. MOT no faults. Only costs have been oil and filter change, gearbox flush and a pair of rear brake pads. Oh and a set of wiper blades.
Pleased to hear it
great video..its all about looking after your car..regular service..cam belt..transmission service..and you can drive them for many enjoyable miles..had mine 2 yrs now..oh i treat the fuel with an egr/dpf/turbo cleaner every 3000 miles..i know there are haters of this car..but trust me you get more looks with smiles than frowns
Gorgeous car. Fabulous presentation. Keep up the good work.
You give brilliant advice.
Great review, Matt, as always. I'm thinking of getting almost the exact same car when I come off my company car scheme next March (so I can drive over a few Peugeots - lol!). No doubt you'll have sold it long before then but if not, give me a shout. Can't think of anyone more trustworthy from whom I'd want to buy a car! 😀
As usual, marvelous review, love the report on the vehicle and your presentation.. well done! Now I must get the cayenne first then next round this model…:)
It's a lovely machine just love it. thanks for the review!
So true what you said with reliability, I've owned Range Rover's & Discovery's & they have been fine, yes when they age a little you do need to spend. But non of them ever broke down when we travelled, they would get you to your destination & home, with no problems at all. Great reviews I always check your videos keep at it fantastic stuff.
Thanks! I appreciate it
Nice work Matt. This is the Sport I had back in New Zealand and it was fantastic to own and very comfty for travelling around New Zealand.
I bet! Perfect for their terrain
@@HighPeakAutos it was brilliant. Best car I’ve owned in any country I’ve lived in. Highly recommend the 3.0 V6 Diesel. Smooth and remarkably efficient and economical too 👌
I could listen to you all day. I love the detail.
Cheers!
Thank you for being so honest and genuine I like the way you explain things keep the good work up mate...I was planning to buy velar but so many bad reviews everywhere especially who owns I personally met them I think I should go for rr sport one then
One of the best real world reviews i watched, thanks.
You are the best commentator ever. Your funny with your One-liners! I love my Ranger Rover Sport 2015 and my LR4 2016
Thanks!
Great review. Very interesting , I have the same shape Sport variant 2015 , just updated the Sat Nav for £120.
Awesome review and cracking advice when buying second hand. 💪👌
Glad it was helpful!
I always change belts immediately regardless of what the salesman tells me ! Change gear box oil ! Then you’re on a winner !👍
Hey, great video once again, still have my fingers crossed for the disco 4...😅
Another great review. I do enjoy your videos! Hope you are doing well!
Thank you! Cheers
!!!! Never one to sit on the fence with his opinions !!!!! surely that is an understatement 😊😊😊😊 Love your uploads, love your humour, love you, Matt 👌👌👌 Simple, as stated🙌🙌🙌🙌
hahah thank you! Cheers :)
Love Range Rovers, still the best looking , just concerns about faults and costs of repair, but they are a lovely drive so much comfort................er and the fuel for a petrol wow, thirsty on a run, but a classic none the less, great review again
Great real world review, they’re not Toyota’s but neither are any other luxury car (except Lexus). I’ve always loved how these look and drove a velar recently and was very enjoyable. Greg’s tips! Are you planning to upgrade to this generation or keep your previous gen?
At last, I think I've now found 2 LandRovers I like, this RR Sport and the L495. Many thanks for making these videos, it really helps me to decide.
IMO think the Range Rover Sport is nicer looking and better proportioned than the bigger RR although it doesn't have so much of the " Out of the way plebs!" presence as the full size beast. Good review and good advice on keeping back part of the budget plus setting aside £100 per month for repairs - a better propostion than buying an insurance backed used car warranty that will probably have more catches than a victorian corset!
I was so impressed with your review, I went and bought one haha. I was lucky enough with an inheritance in the bank, to afford a17 plate ( cheap tax) with only 11200 miles on the clock. It doesnt have the sun roof but I think I'll get over that. it's just great to drive, I can see why you like them so much. Great reviews, keep it up.
Very nice
Good stuff! Thanks for the information.
Really enjoy your videos. Good job.
Right, that’s my mind finally made up, This is definitely my next motor.
Hi Matt. I think this is one of the best looking vehicles out there! But I ain’t playing at Juventus yet, so I should probably pass this one 😂 Great review as always! Cheers
I’ve driven the 5.0ltr Supercharged, what a beast!
Great vid, always look forward to the next, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Always a pleasure watching your uploads Matt, really enjoy your style of reviews and the diversity of vehicles.Your opinion and advice should be a great help to prospective buyers.Oh and congrats on nearly 75k subscribers, well deserved and fast approaching that big 100k plaque.👍🏼
Much appreciated! Thank you!
I just got a 2006 4.4 lpg converted RR Sport in black with grey leather seats. Have a few things to do to it, but overall, I’m very happy with it. The way you feel when driving it it’s pretty cool, only thing better is a full size RR.
Good choice
Great reassuring review. I traded my 2013 RRS Autobiography (old shape) last year for a 2016 L494 in silver with the full black pack. Just clicked over 50k Miles now, much lighter and seems quicker than the last one, fuel economy appears to be better too. The auto lowering is my favourite feature on this new model. Great off road too. I just wish supermarket carpark spaces were wider. Sometimes makes me wish I had kids again....🤔No, does it F......!
Hahaha good point and good choice!
You do have kids............you jsut didn't bring them with you shopping......OR they're in the store and you're going to get them......!!!!
Great video as always . Good advice for Pro s and Cons . Yeah wanting one . Great !!!!
Thanks 👍
Well done review. Fantastic.
Lovely motor, my gaffer has one. Love driving it. Sadly the reaction from some other motorists isn't always good. Another excellent vid. Cheers
Had the same experience as you, my mate has one his Mrs has one I driven both nice bit of kit I personally preferred his Westminster and I could have had it but it doesn't suit my lifestyle. We came off the same council estate raggedy arse'd kids with nothing, hard work and sacrifice helped us achieve far more than I could have dreamed of as a kid, my mate and his brother took it to a different level. They are both exactly the same but have the finer things in life, I remember them driving old Bison tippers back in the day, no floor candles for a heaters in the winter like a sauna in the summer and up till 2am changing diffs and half shafts lying in shite and water. Now the volvos, and scania's are like any luxury vehicle to drive. People in general never see where it started only the end result, Envy I can handle jealous'y is a terrible thing, sorry for ranting on bud 😂🤙
Just brought myself a L320, 2011 reg but the 2012 version (turn knob etc). Best car ive ever owned...albeit for nearly 2 months. Timing belt was changed during sale from the garage and 6 month warranty. Touch wood nothing has gone wrong. Im currently looking into a gearbox fluid change and then saving 1-2k just like you said in case of any other repairs. Done just under 100k miles.
Come back in 10 years and tell us how you got on and how much you spent on repairs.
@@michaelkinsella8904 Currently 3 years in. Both inlet manifolds, and literally right now at the mechanic for rear ace bar/drop links/bushes. probably spent about 3k in repairs/maintenance costs.
@@stan123bluenot bad for 3 years to be honest. I was expecting a horror story!
Excellent review here. I own a 2016 RRS SDV6 HSE black on black stealth pack with 23'' wheels, lovely car. Looking to own a full fatrr at some point in the future!
Good advice like him . Honest . Hoping to buy 1 this week after your chat . Lol . Cheers keep good vids going .
Hey Matt, are you going to review those newer MGs? I heard the highest trim level HS is very luxurious and pretty good to drive for its price
Did we just hit a pothole or a peugeot? The trials of Range Rover ownership ! 🤣😂🤣😂 Thanks Matt, great, entertaining review as always 👍
Haha! Glad you enjoyed it
Great review. Liked and subscribed 😎👍
Awesome car, nice honest review. You’ve just gained another subscriber!
Thanks for the sub!
Personally I would choose an Evoque over a full size RR . So much more practical for everyday use. One with a pano roof is a MUST though!
Do you carry a handbag ?
@@anthonynewman1215 How did you know?? 🤷♂️
“Every car has their issues.. “ except the infamous 1994 celica 😆
Just to add the infamous 1994 base model Toyota Celica which is owned by Scotty Kilmer. I'd it was owned by anyone else it would be less reliable. Well it seems like that 😂
@@terrificspokesman7416 i clearly spend tooo much time on KZhead - i knew immediatly that it was Scotty you were referencing!!
Louis James that 94' Celica is the only working 94' Celica in the US.
🐎
good one. im new in UK , going to see the car in couple days . thanks for the video
This generation of the sport was introduced for the 2014 MY. Critical tming chain issues on the 5.0SC were fixed in 2012 for the 2013 MY.
Lovely colour combination.
I think so too!
I think dark grey is the best car color. Every single car can look great in that colour.
hear me out, if u buy a range rover u have to really take a look at what engines are brakeing often (and ofc if the car was maintained/taken care off). If i would be buying another land rover i would buy a 306hp 3.0 diesel or a 256hp 3.0 diesel. Those engines are the most reliable in my opinion. I had 3 of them neither of them broke and with my friend who had a 292hp diesel engine same with my friend who had a 2 liter one it broke and he had to replace the whole engine. So if u buy one get one of those two engines all other ones arent so reliable. Defenitly dont go with 2 liter ones, they are braking constantly cuz such a small engine is never gonna be enough for such a big and heavy car
Really sensible review as always mate, no bull just facts
Thanks!
This is the model i would get, i dont know if i want the V6 or V8 petrol though (i only go the petrol route, always premium fuel, Just due to my driving style it costs less for me to fill up my XE S than a 1.6 juke, or any other small turbo car for that matter) when i done my visits to the JLR dealers and had a test drive of a few cars, every one of them felt enjoyable but not stressfull to drive, and if it only costs a bit extra to maintain when things do happen, Its a small price to pay overall, because its likely you saved some of that cost through a deal on the initial purchase price anyway.
You should do a City Rover...I’m sure you’d love it, they’re very...erm...quirky 😂😶
Hahaha yes that might be funny actually
I can imagine you ripping it one Matt!
@Paulie Gualtieri my dad has 214SEi, has 30K miles on it, great condition. They’re starting to get into the classic category now. Very good looking cars in my opinion. Definitely can see how well Rover and Honda worked together on them.
@Paulie Gualtieri I think they’re all autos too (not sure tho). I’d love one of them, again, can see BMW influence on it with the lights and a few extra bits. I have a 75, currently a project that I do on my channel. It’s a 1.8 K Series Petrol...good engines, until they go wrong haha
@@adamlaird-smith609 my 75 went to the scrap heap, HG failure. Always thought of it as a poor man's jag. Very comfortable driving!
Can you imagine, I am already watching, In Kenya 😂. I wish I could ever buy a car from you. Always looking forward to your videos.
Thats awesome
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it
That's right I'm watching from RSA
This man says 30 odd grand will buy you one & the market price here (Kenya) is the equivalent 80k
Thanks for a great review! The Grey even looks good on a gloomy day.
father in law has one of those, 15 plate autobiography in this grey-blue colour during lockdown he bought facelift bumpers & headlamps & has fitted them to the car himself, then paid a company in italy or somewhere like that to program the lights to his car... over skype... saves a lot of cash in long run, the lights & bumpers & cost to paint it & match it all up is quite excessive but you can sell the old bumpers & headlights & not have to spend a fortune on a facelift
I have the supercharged V8, that’s what you really want😍
Love the SVR!
I had a 3 Range Rover Sports in a row, started with a 7 year old on which i sold at 175,000 neve went wrong, then a 3 year old SDV6 3.0, never went wrong traded in for a year old L494 HSE Dynamic 3.0 SDV6. It had all the toys used to be owned by a famous Horse Racing Trainer, little high mileage but came with 2 years warranty thank god! Broke down on way home from garage! fixed by JLR call out engineer then broke down again 4 days later same problem, had replacement RRS for 10 days and when my car returned had new exhaust and DPF system, 2 months later front driveshaft replaced, 3 months later whole dash replaced went blank.8 months later front Brembo brakes failed all replaced. JLR throughout this were fantastic and supplied me with a courtersey car and even paid for a weekend break for my wife and I as a goodwill gesture. I think I was just unlucky. i took my car in for a service and the old salesman caught me, I had no intention to change the RRS but he persuaded me to test drive a new Jaguar F-pace 3.0 d S! After the test drive I was hooked and have owned it for 2 years now, and what a fantastic car, I was one of those that never took any of my RRS's off road so the F-Pace was a better option for me, it is a flying machine totally love it and no it hasn't been back to the garage! I still love the RRS and my get one again but there is a facelifted F-Pace out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats interesting. I've never had an FPace but I do like the look of them
@@HighPeakAutos Matt test drive a 3.0d S its an SUV sportscar! 300BHP AND 150MPH It had to be good to temp me away from a RR, its lighter than a RR and the roadholding is fantastic, it won't climb Everest but it will get you there very quickly! It is awd and you can't tell when it comes in its that good. The 'S' has the dynamic suspension system, check it out on tinternet. It may be big but its lighter than an Evoque and a Dicovery Sport. I kept the boot mat I bought for my L494 and its too small for the boot of the F-Pace! I haven't been in the 2.0 diesel but I think it will be like an Evoque or Dico Sport for performance
Another fantastic video filled with knowledgeable information & great vocabulary, superb & hilarious analogies & matts general comfortable British manner. Said it before & I’ll probably say it again, how’s this guy not on tv by now or even at least writing reviews for auto trader & the like?. Jeewizz man.
Thanks! That means a lot. Cheers
I’m very happy to hear that the Range Rover Sport finally has become very good and dependable. Many years ago a friend bought a brand top-spec new one which soon became a nightmare, with all sorts of issues that the ‘experts’ couldn’t fix. Finally the car was returned to the dealer as more or less crap.
Was it the sdv6 model
Yes, but the diesel V6 was not the problem. The car had all sorts of electrical and other issues, impossible to diagnose.
