    • Not weird at all. Knowing that you are not alone and not the only person in the world suffering with anxiety would give you a certain level of comfort. The more you learn about yourself and anxiety itself, the more you will be in control of it. Highly recommend finding a group of people online or in your community to start talking and learning about anxiety. Talk therapy one on one is good too.

    • @Chris Whitty first I'm not gay. I have a high paying job and most importantly I don't smoke or drink. Maybe it's you who should get a life instead of lurking in someone's comment commenting nasty things instead of uplifting and motivating them because honestly your kind is one of the many reason why we have this health problem.

    • I'm so glad it helped! You definitely are not alone. It seems everyone has anxiety these days, to some extent. It's not all bad - it's what has kept us alive. But being in a chronic state of anxiety is taxing for the body and mind. It's good to have techniques like the one in this video that you can do easily at any time.

It's so healing to know there's people who can, want to, and are trained to help you, and to see other folks dealing with the same stuff. We feel so alone when we're in the middle of it, but grounding ourselves with others- even strangers- is probably the most helpful thing. Your comment also helped me, so thank you

  • I think I understand why this works, as someone with zero medical/psych training. It's a similar idea to the 333 method, where you ground yourself in reality. But in this one, you're so preoccupied with the sensation and focusing on breathing, your brain stops racing. This works for me a lot better than the 333, because it's hands-on and physical, and it's multitasking so I can't allocate as much brain-RAM to panicking. I know this was four years ago, but thank you. You're still helping folks.

  • Does anyone else find themselves focusing on their breath for hours at a time? Dry mouth? Feeling like your in a dream? Noticing your heart? Worrying you have different medical conditions? Playing with your hair?

  • Sometimes the hardest part about anxiety is, when you're in a panicking moment, all affirmations and tools you've written down are hard to remember or aren't absorbed when you re-read techniques. I am happy I found this video as this technique is short, memorable and seemingly effective. The more tools in our anxiety tool belt, the better. Some things may work better than others for each individual, but this one feels like do-able and helpful. Thank you! ♥

    • So glad it's helpful! The trick is to regularly practice anxiety-reduction exercises when you're calm, so that they are more accessible to you when experiencing anxiety. If you learn to recognize the initial signs or anxiety, you may be able to stop a panic attack before it starts. It takes practice!

  • This is extremely helpful! I'm just coping with my anxiety and getting on a good track in life. I needed this for work, worrying if my mind will wander to an anxious place, so I'm going to use this technique when I feel myself getting stressed. Thanks for sharing this, it really helped, and the true test comes tomorrow!

  • Thank you so much ma’am, I’ve been struggling with my anxiety lately and I’m a bit younger so people think I’m “faking it for attention” although I actually struggle with it. ❤️🙏🏼

    • I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was a child. I’m 30 years old and I still have my moments. You have nothing to be ashamed of and I don’t know you but I don’t believe you are “faking” anything. Those fears are very real to us when we have panic attacks. Stay strong and keep a good circle of friends, you will get through it and there are many of us out there that are supportive and understanding. I hope this helps.

  • Thanks for giving the idea. This idea is temporary cure for people who get anxiety attack all of a sudden.Calming your mind by various ways(meditation, exercise)being happy and positive thinking is a permanant cure of anxiety but still it may take years to treat you completely.I am suffering since an year improved a lot but still fighting the problem, may be the problem ends in some time.
