Hello, this video shows how I made a Viking style dagger with a piece of hard steel. The handle is a joint of wood and soft metal. Watch the video and check how it turned out, leave your like and comment, promote the video to help leverage the channel. Thanks

Design is similar to a viking spear head. Your vision and thinking outside the box is admirable.
Thank you very much my friend 👍👍👍
i do wish he had drawn out the tip some more instead of just cutting it with a chisel, but it isn't my knife, and the size is good. i just prefer a longer blade and as little metal wasted as possible, but it is more work for sure.

I love catching your uploads on the same day they're released. It's awesome watching you work and to see your creations. Great work!
Thank you very much my friend, I'm glad to know 👍👍👍
Uma peça diferente. Ficou super. Parabéns e sucesso!!!
Muito obrigado meu amigo 👍👍👍
Very unique good looking dagger.
Thanks my friend 👍👍👍
Dude you should take a historical class on weapons that’s not a Viking knife lol but nice work atleast
Agreed, but also 50% chance that he’s just throwing in random buzz words for the dreaded algorithm. Don’t exactly blame him if so.
Thanks 👍👍👍
Yes, if I don't add this, it won't deliver my video. Strong words tend to attract more attention 👍👍👍@@cadenayers9253
Using a word like "not a Viking" knife gets the keyword in too. Then nobody can find fault with your creation.
As a guy who's forfaders were vikings, I can confirm it's not a viking knife. However!: I really want that knife😂
Cool build. All by hand, nice.
Thanks my friend 👍👍👍
Awesome! Many thanks for sharing your great creations! ❤️😍⭐️💫🔥👌🏻

My Dear friend you are like a Sculptor who shapes fantastic knives from a piece of Iron. God bless you. Are you from USA?
Thank you my friend. I'm happy to read a comment like this. No, I'm not, I'm from Brazil 👍👍👍
Though your fit and finish needs a bit of work, I really like the design!

Theres nothing viking about it. But I do admire the workmanship.
Thanks man 👍👍👍
@@MakerHA I find the Stirrup end interesting. I think you got too much of the Wood Handle into the Stirrup End. Slightly slimmer Wood Handle, not so fat, and a Seax Blade wood really make me Love it. Try making a 1 Handed Norse War Sword and a 2 Handed Norse Great Sword, 1 Handed War Axe and 2 Handed Great Axe, Spear, and 1 Handed War Hammer and 2 Handed Great Hammer. You could make Norse Flanged Mace too, but with Smith's Knives (just the Blades, being on a Mace they wouldn't need handles) in substitute of regular Flanges. Whodin deems this to be your Saga, and for the Honor of the JomsViking Moot.
@@OleDirtyMacSanchez Yes, I'm about to make long swords. However, I still haven't been able to find a large container to make the tempering. But as soon as I can, I'll make swords too
@@MakerHA Do you have 1 of those 4 Foot tall Propane, Butane, or Natural Gas Tanks? Or 1 of those 4 Foot tall Oxy Acetylene Tanks, or a large Steel Drum?
@@MakerHA Cut 1 of the Tanks in half and Insta Quench Tank. Large Steel Drum, Cut the bottom out, then cut it in half, then Weld the 2 halves together, Weld water tight. Should give you 5 or 6 Feet. Fill it with water to see if it leaks, or use a small amount of Dish Soap. Apply Dish Soap to entire Weld line, look for bubbles. They use the Dish Soap Method at Custom Car Shops.
Pretty Cool. Bet its heavy though. And that wire where it ends looks like it could cut your hand. Or at least make it uncomfortable. Love your hobby, just jealous I can't have go myself. Great Video though.
Thank you so much my friend 👍👍👍
nah he drilled into the wood and tucked the end of the cable so it wouldn't poke him. and on top of that, all you need is a hammer and a pit with charcoal in it. leafblower or box fan is optional, but if you have a steel plate on top of a wooden box, you can forge. anvil is not a must have. and if you don't want to forge, all you need is flat steel and an angle grinder.

I want one!!
👍👍👍
Is it a tamato or a tomato?….great job sir.
Thanks man 👍👍👍
Очень красивая работа! Тебе можно для фильмов ковать историческое оружие. У тебя отлично получается!
Спасибо, мой друг. Да проблема только в том, что я не знаю многих исторических оружий 😂😂😂 👍👍👍
Show !!!
👍👍👍
I would buy one especially if it came with a handmade sheath
It would be nice to have a sheath for this blade 👍👍👍
Congratulations, it's great except for a few negative things.
Thanks my friend 👍👍👍

Good and not so good comments! But at the end of the day, do what ever you want make what if you want…call it what ever you want.
👍👍👍
I really like the design, but that fat, square grip seems like it would be uncomfortable to hold for any period of time.
👍👍👍
I would definatly carry it into battle.
Me too 👍👍👍
Mungkin itu lebih bagus untuk ujung tombak
👍👍👍
This is an awesome knife. If I draw a knife and send it to you, would you make it for me? I'd pay for it.
Thank you my friend. Yes, if it's within my power to do it, I'll do it. 👍👍👍
@MakerHA what's up! Could you send me your email again? I may have lost since the last time we spoke on here. I will come up with a drawing of the knife that I want made.

I know I'm not a blacksmith. And I hope my question is not silly. But why are you holding your hammers near the head? I know that striking a hammer seems a very simple thing, but my grandpa tought me to use every advantage of the tool I have. And he tought me to hold a hammer at the end of the grip, so I can achieve the maximum impact force. I know it takes practice, but it makes you hit harder for much longer time with much lower effort 😊
Yes he is right. However, for me this only applies when it comes to a light hammer. My sledgehammer is 4kg so if I held the end of the handle it would be very heavy to lift and that would hurt my wrist a lot, so I hold it closer to the head of the sledgehammer. 👍👍👍
@@MakerHA Yup, 4kg for one hand is a pretty big weight to swing it constantly 😁 There is one more trick I learned from a lot of blacksmith channes - kind of a "whip" action. You use the residual kinetic energy after a strike, to help hammer stand up, then you lift whole arm and swing it again straightening your wrist. I would be lying if I said I'm good at it. Takes a lot of focus to control this movement AND hit in the proper spot 😁 But we used similar thing in martial arts for kicking. After a few years of practice it becomes a second nature. Dang, you made me want to take out my torch and make a "pipe tamper" for my friend's pipe. I promised to make it a couple months ago. 😊
😁😁😁 Yes, that helps a lot when the anvil is perfect. It serves as a spring that drives the hammer back, making body movement easier. My anvil is all dented and there's not much return, but it's still a technique that I also have to learn. 😁😁😁Yes, do it, you will enjoy doing it and he will love winning@@ogi22
@@ogi22 That's the way a Mace, War Hammer, and even a War Axe is supposed to be swung. The give it a flick principle, allows for quick follow up shots. Works with Fishing Poles too.
@@OleDirtyMacSanchez True
Bit chunky on the handle I reckon.
👍👍👍

Not really Viking but still very cool !!!! I’d rock it on my side in the woods!!!!! And it does kinda look Viking ish enough never know Mabee a Viking did make one like that!! Knife making is from the heart man keep it up.
Thank you my friend. A big hug for you 👍👍👍
Well done! A nice piece of craft, without any doubt. But, I see two points First, in my opinion, this dagger is not a viking dagger. But, this is a point to discuss. Second, it's mostly done by grinding , not by forging
👍👍👍

The problem with most blacksmiths is that they make cool knives, but wooden handles are made from a neighbor's fence
lol 👍👍👍
Брутальная бесполезная штука.
