Welcome back, today we're showing you how to fly traffic pattern in an A320 full flight simulator with my buddy @flywithcaptainjoe. We're going to show you how to fly traffic pattern in the Airbus A320.
Let me know if have any questions in the comments down below!
Go and check out the video we did on @flywithcaptainjoe's channel. You can learn how to fly a circling approach!

  • Nice video! I always thought only smaller general aviation planes did these full traffic patterns, but now I know!

  • Hey guys. I watched this video so many times before my assessment. I fly Boeing but the assessment was on the A320. I got the job, and I am HIRED. What a great video. Thank you.

  • Actually its better not to disangage the A/THR at the Takeoff. Instead pull speed knob to go selected speed mode and set S speed after flaps one. Also one way to stay at runway track is to pull the heading knob at the rotation, therefore you wont need to turn off FDs early because they are important guidances. Then while turning downwind; AP: off FDs: off Bird: on and set downwind track and so on

  • Hey Guys, great video! One question though, can you show what you used for setup (fuel, gw, f-pln, extended centerline, etc)? When I fly traffic pattern with the A320, I usually use 5K fuel, nearly empty aircraft and no SID, STAR for f-pln. But like to see if that is used in real world also. Thanks! 🛫👍🏻

  • What about: turning final ➡️ set final track? Your using TRK/FPA. So use it.

  • I guess the total playtime of 7:47 wasn't a coincidence. Either way, it is a nice touch :).

  • when you do a normal circuit or bad weather circuit, once downwind, you should 1. Clear PPOS in MCDU, as this now give you your 3' slope (bouncing ball on PFD right side where the GS normally is shown) this shows all times the actual aircraft position to threshold, as well the PROG page on MCDU gives you +/- height of the 3' slope, so by the time you're turning base the aircraft should now start flying the bouncing ball on PFD and on profile in PROG page. This is your back up to show if your getting high or low on slope for the visual circuit. 2. in real world, on a real circuit day night, don't disconnect the ATHR (do that in sim) Just saying :)

  • ❤ I have wanted to know about this (the details, altitude AGL etc..) for decades, especially the 744. P Davies book on the heavies recommends minimum of 1000ft AGL at minimum weight but does not give the details. I got from this: 1500 ft AGL pattern height Gear up makes sense as it practices the whole procedure (I was thinking it was gear down but I see it is not) For the 744 I am guessing it is flaps 10-5-1, speeds depending on the 744 at that flap setting. I seem to recall that a flap 10 takeoff can be done at low weights on the charts. 1500ft AGL like this video. Thank you for a great video. You make it look so easy, but I am sure it ain’t. If anyone knows the 744 flap settings for circuit training I would love to know.

  • Your procedure isn’t really correct as it started from disengaging the A/THR instead of activating the app vase to keep s speed and so on... disappointed honestly as of two known pilots.
