This homemade router sled/flattening table is a simple cost effective way to flatten live edge wood and can even do it more accurately then some manufactured ones.

Finally someone who goes with the grain!
Good job on the build👍
Thanks 👍
Great job on your flattening build. We are almost done with my flattening table. I had the same concerns . . . didn't seem like the manufactures paid as close attention to deflection as they should have. Looking forward to subscribing and seeing more of your content! - Samuel
Thanks I appreciate the comment!
Absolutely great job May I ask how much is it cost for you to make this system?
If I remember correctly, it was around $300 for the steel, linear rails, etc. not including the DEWALT plainer and dust collection system.
Is there a reason to use a router sled instead of just using the sawmill to resaw them flat? Just wondering.
The reason I don’t use the sawmill to resaw them flat is because when the wood drys it becomes harder and is more rough on the sawmill and blade, and also it would leave saw marks. The router leaves a much cleaner and accurate finish.
Judging by the license plates hanging up, you're in Ohio too.
