That’s a good question. Probably ‘no’. Not sure I want to risk a $4000 device with everything that can happen on a plane.
Have anyone thought about airplanes banning AVP in the future in flight just like cellphones and laptops.
Do you need WiFi? Or you can download movies ?
it seems you can do all things you can with your iPhone on Airplane mode. So whatever is downloaded to the device, you can access. With Wifi, it's limitless!@@cristianorozco4804

Imagine some time in the future, Apple adding a scene or a mode to make your plane invisible as you travel. Like, your plane would be out of glass. I know this would be insanely difficult to develop, but the idea is fun
This is exactly What F35 pilot helmets allow our pilots to see. The tech is definitely available but those things cost $400,000

Airplanes just need a couple external camera that you could connect to to make it work. And then it would be real time data. Would be awesome!

This headset is so uncomfortable, that after 30 minutes it becomes a torture instrument!
While walking , can’t “travel mode” keep your windows oriented so you don’t go through them?

I literally picked up my Vision Pro on February 2nd and then hopped on a plane to Sydney, Australia!

Press in and hold the Digital Crown and the top button simultaneously, until the Power button slider appears. Look at the on-screen power button, perform a pinch gesture, and drag the button to the right.

I will be using this on the plane next month and I just like the small form factor that is a headset that can do many things. Price wise its worth it especially watching movies in an immersive envirronment.

Apart from the eyes that was one of the most badass persona I have seen so far.
I would love to use something like this for building the interior of a camper van. The workflow to build the interior could be awesome. Like 3D scan the van and create everything in 3D. Put the 3D model into the VisionPro and project it 1:1 into the vans space. Now you could take the individual 3D parts, like wood planks, put them next to your actual wood and use them for scale and more.

This is sooo rad
I bought the AVP case, then found out the cases for the oculus quest 2/3 work and are smaller. The insignia one is great. It’s a cube that is hard cases and smaller than the other options. It fits my peak design 20l backpack really well. The round cable/accessory case that came with the Apple case is fantastic though and I didn’t have an alternative for that. Also recommend a lens protector. Again, the quest ones work well.

Highly recommend using the other head strap. I bet it would work with a beanie, also. I DO think we're just WAY too early on to give a full review yet... you KNOW there are going to be some amazing apps that take advantage of this particular technology in ways that no phone or laptop can match. It's 3D, it's "spatial", it's got eye tracking and hand controls, and all of these things. There is SO much potential, and that's super exciting to me. Hope that you guys continue to find fun ways to use the device as it slowly evolves and matures into something even better.
Oddly enough we found the single strap to be more comfortable! The other (dual) head strap gave us both headaches quite quickly. Maybe we needed to adjust it a lil better. But was surprised by the comfort of the single strap. Totally agree about the tech needing to catch up, it's an incredible device nonetheless though.
@@gravel.travel Interesting! I've heard different reviewers alternating preferences about which strap is best. Marques seems to much prefer the dual strap, while SadlyitsBradley prefers the single, like you two. I guess everyone agrees neither are GOOD though. Maybe a mix of the two will be best. Appreciate the response -- my biggest wishlist item is a consumer-level Volumetric Video Camera that builds a point-cloud version of a scene in real time. It would require at least two cameras filming at the same time, but essentially it would film a video that you could later WALK AROUND inside of while it was playing, with spatial audio corresponding to the actual sounds recorded. It's VERY possible, and I think it'll revolutionize ALL media, but especially important to me is how we capture our memories with our loved ones.
Love that the butterfly was the feature that he was most stoked about! Such a cool video tho!!
I think it’s because the screens and stuff felt so normal. I also have an oculus so even watching KZhead on a big screen wasn’t new. But man that butterfly was wild.

What happens if you turn on Travel Mode while walking, will the apps you have open automatically move with you? When you were in immersive mode, were you able to see the MacBook's keyboard?
Travel mode is basically only for an airplane and does not let the apps move with you! We tried it as well.
Apps dont walk with you in travel mode. That's made for Airplane use to stabilize, but also didn't work great. As for Macbook keyboard in Immersive, nope it was invisible haha.
We honestly didn’t notice much difference in travel mode. And no all we couldn’t see the keyboard at all.

App windows also move away from you when you're on a train. They need a picture-in-picture mode for making an app window non-spatial

Yes travel mode makes a huge difference. Designed for when you’re walking in a car or on a train etc. Amazing how many KZheadrs don’t realize you have to turn this bloody feature on. It’s right there in the name
This is not true. Sorry but don’t want people to get their hopes up. In Apple’s words: “Travel mode is designed solely for passenger use on an airplane. Don’t use travel mode if you are not on airplane.”
It still works after the tear down to save you some time😊

Did you try dragging your windows outside the airplane? Or were you subconsciously keeping to the cabin?
Thanks for the video. This is the first video that I've seen with an Apple Vision Pro on an airplane. I do find it interesting that most people seem to simply walk by, almost trying to ignore your presence. I wonder how many months it will take for all of us to have seen the Apple Vision in public? A future video: Maybe do a followup in a month, 6 months and a year. You will likely run into others in the airport.
It’s true, most people were curious but unbothered by the appearance of it. & that’s a great idea, I’m sure airports will be much more filled with them!

When you setup your persona you were backlit by sunlight through a giant window, the cameras were still able to do it but you made it 1500x harder than it had to be lol. It’s a neat toy I don’t think any normal person anywhere needs this thing, a step towards the future for tech but useless practically in most situations.
I have ADHD- boredom is painful for me so I live to take gadgets on international flights. I’ve owned numerous VR headsets since 2016, and have taken various mobile HMDs on economy flights. We get to lock out the world around me and watch films and shows in literally what is essentially our own private theatres. Now the Vision Pro is out, I am supremely jealous (I can’t justify $7,000 Australian dollars for it,) but I understand it, and what it means for the future others do not yet see. For better or worse. In the interim, I use Xreal glasses and something called an Xreal beam, where I can only watch my content, browse, or read my brooks on a single screen. But I don’t need to wear a cumbersome headset, just a pair of rayban-like shades. Pros and cons, amirite? Very good review from a strikingly handsome couple. Exceedingly socially attractive; you both draw people in.

I find my HDR movie play. Disney plus and KZhead using Safari just not anywhere as bright aa any iPhone 14 or 15. There really isn’t any sun spots light bs perfect blacks dynamic range with the VP vs iPhone. I wonder if the VP software is limiting the brightness. Any thoughts?

Nice review, different from others'. About productivity, may I just say that if you're compelled to get the device for the butterfly experience more than the virtual mac screen, that sounds a bit unreal -in a bad way- ? If you edit videos and photos, having a resizable display is something EXTREMELY useful. And wait till Apple will allow multiple mac virtual screens!
Yeah 100%. I think the Mac screen was so good that it didn’t feel shocking like the butterfly was. Just felt like a normal screen.

This is indeed a very cool product, but I would like to know if you feel tired or uncomfortable after wearing it for a long time?
Does the headset not have a recenter button, like on a quest 2 or 3? That would come in super useful (Can you do a vid with the Quest 3)
It does. If you hold the crown down it will recenter.

It's like them first teslas. Just imagine just 2yrs from now.
I like the part when he left some windows behind and had to retrieve them, and then he had to carry the KZhead window with him. That makes it feel like the windows are real objects. In real life, if you don't carry a physical object with you, it gets left behind. If you want an item to come with you, you have to physically carry it with you. It just make sense that the only way the windows can come with you as you're walking, is for you to grab and hold onto it. Let's hope Apple refines this function to make it even more realistic. Also, are the immersive backgrounds customizable? Can we make and add our own bgs? Awesome video.

The battery is not the off switch. You can press the 2 bottoms on it together.

Looks very non-starter as a replacement for anything during actual travel. I'm glad it's a small step forward for functioning on a plane with an XR headset, but it's just too much bulk and complexity to watch movies or type with compared with highly portable smartphones and earbuds.
Lance being the most stoked about butterfly's over any other feature. Least surprising take ever.

it seems that the conclusion can be extrapolated to other scenarios. The tech is cool, if they make it way lighter, with descent battery length and above all, cut price by 50% min, it could have a future.

We put them through the scanner like any other bag inside their Apple travel case! And yes, an international airport so full level security.

The cord wasn’t too bad as it’s attached to one of your pockets, Fanny pack or something like that. It’s more aesthetically just in the way it seems.
How inches usable and biggest screen. Look on wall draw edges and measures. For vision pro no video s till now
Can be also very nice if you need privacy editing some serious stuff or just doing accounting... I remember once a guy making accounting in the train with heavy numbers and that kind of things can drive some bad people into your datas and I think that can be used also in a way where you are the only one person knowing what's here and that can be really helpful in some situations, not just the trip of having a big screen and voilà

After you walk through the display you can regrab it at the bar at the bottom and the display reorientates to you pov
To turn it off you can hold the digital crown and the camera button at the same time to slide to turn off
Here I am deaf... I am wondering if a dictation (subtitle/closed captioning) would show up if someone tries to speak with you? I think it would be awesome to have this tool for me to listen to what my hearing family, hearing friends, and hearing workers say.
how is the head tracking? does travel mode fix everything on the plane?
Travel mode didn't seem to work once we moved our heads with it on. So I think this is a feature they must be developing and will get better with updates.
