  • Hi!! I tried making this with air dry clay. I am so happy with the outcome. I followed all the steps exactly how you suggested. And there are really very less cracks after drying and it looks stunning. I realized that the thinner the plastic bottle you'll use, the lesser the crack. I made another planter with a plastic container, but since that was a little thicker, there was a lot of cracks in that one. Anyway thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!!❤❤

    @sarahdixon7961@sarahdixon796110 ай бұрын
    • Hi Sarah, I 90% of the time remove the vessel, but on this occasion I left it in, cracks appear as you see in the video but minimal and fixable and these pots are still going strong as little planters with plastic waterproof inners 😊 Hope this helps, thanks, Sarah

    @beckyvandergriff4155@beckyvandergriff41553 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you, the bottle stays right in there, no getting it out, think we'd be left with a bit of a blob!!! As show in the video there is shrinkage and will crack on drying due to the vessel but we fix it good. 💜

  • I love these! Does anyone know how these sealed pots hold up if you spill some water on them when watering your plants. My understanding is that you can't get airdry clay wet. Wondering if the sealant makes this water-resistant (or even water proof). Thanks in advance.

  • These are so cute! Thank you for the inspiration. 💕 At about 40 seconds in you say that the clay you're using is in the description below, maybe I'm too early, but it's not there yet. Is it DAS?

    @matishtar@matishtar3 жыл бұрын
    • Here in the UK we have Hobbycraft and the clay I use in this video is Hobbycraft white air dry clay, and it is almost identical to DAS white air dry clay, which I also use a lot, sorry i didn't add right away, thank you for pointing this out I've put the details in now 💕

    @cassyram23@cassyram233 жыл бұрын
    • On the bare clay I sometimes use acrylic medium watered down just slightly, or water down mod podge or white glue can work, or just waterdown some acrylic paint for the first coat on the bare clay, hope this helps.

    @TheSongwritingCat@TheSongwritingCat3 жыл бұрын
    • You would want drainage, that's why i did it this way. I always put a plant pot inside a pot.

  • I’m making aromatherapy charms from air dry clay. I had read that they shouldn’t be painted as the essential oils could ruin the paint. Could you just paint the decorative front and leave the back of the charm untouched so that the essential oils can absorb into the charm. That was my question 🙏

    @carylpolisson8811@carylpolisson8811 Жыл бұрын
    • I see thank you. There is a chance that the paint may lift or stain if you are repeatedly add moisture and oils to the air dry clay. I’d make one and see how it goes, in fact I will do the same, thank you for your inquisition. Have a great day

    @jemmawhitehouse1043@jemmawhitehouse10433 жыл бұрын
    • Oh no, that's such a shame, sorry to hear that, did you do the clay quite thin? Not sure why, or if it dried too fast, or if the brand you have has more moisture in, maybe best stick to projects without a vessel in, which is not my norm anyway. If a few cracks it's ok to repair, but not experienced too many cracks sorry ❤️
