Super, please mention me if you do ♡♡♡
These are so precious🧡. I'm glad you mentioned cracking was normal and there's hope to fix it. When my other projects cracked, I turned them into slip and got discouraged. I might just start it up again. Thank you🌻.
Thank you, and I am so glad this video has made you want to give it another go, I hope it goes well, enjoy 🌻.

Excellent video. I think I will try to make an owl for a tiny cactus I gave my daughter. I will use a pill bottle which fits for the plant and she loves owls. I love the fox. Perfectly made.
Sounds great, enjoy. Thank you
I just discovered your channel and subscribed. I am delighted with your creations 😍👍
Thank you so much 😊
I wish you could hear the reactions to your videos. I saw the thumbnail and went 'Shuuaaaww! She's done it again.' This reuses plastic, is fun to make, and looks SO cute. Love it!
Oh WOW what a super comment, thank you, that is so lovely of you, and it did make me chuckle too 😉
@@RedRockingBird 'Shuuaaaww' is the toned down, crafty version of 'phwoar', according to the dictionary.
😆🥰

Yay! Thank you! 💜
I love foxes too great tutorial. I crochet a fox where can I post. him x
Thank you, are you on Instagram? #RedRockingBirdMake
No I'm not on Instagram.
Hi!! I tried making this with air dry clay. I am so happy with the outcome. I followed all the steps exactly how you suggested. And there are really very less cracks after drying and it looks stunning. I realized that the thinner the plastic bottle you'll use, the lesser the crack. I made another planter with a plastic container, but since that was a little thicker, there was a lot of cracks in that one. Anyway thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!!❤❤
Hi, happy to hear you are so happy, well done and thank you 😊
Thank you for all your videos . WHAT IS THAT WHITE LIQUID IN THE JAR YOU ARE USING? You never mention it in tutorial. Thanks
Here's how to make air dry slip: kzhead.info/sun/paWPf5uhbWqZZ6M/bejne.html
Love it ! Does the plastic container stay in there? Do you paint the inside? Thanks so much for sharing 😊⭐️
Yes it does! I didn't paint the grey one inside because it's clear, but i did paint the visible inside of the orange one as that was blue plastic. Thank you 💜
So cute.... I love it amd pls do an owl 😂😂😂
Thanks. I’d love to do an owl 🦉❤️
Hi Sarah, I absolutely love this idea and I would love to try this myself at some point. I'm just wondering, at what stage do you remove the plastic bottle to ensure it doesn't become too trick to remove yet ensures the shape is maintained :)
Hi Sarah, I 90% of the time remove the vessel, but on this occasion I left it in, cracks appear as you see in the video but minimal and fixable and these pots are still going strong as little planters with plastic waterproof inners 😊 Hope this helps, thanks, Sarah
@@RedRockingBird that's great, thank you so much :)
Love your videos! Do you take the bottles out when they dry or leave them?
Thank you, the bottle stays right in there, no getting it out, think we'd be left with a bit of a blob!!! As show in the video there is shrinkage and will crack on drying due to the vessel but we fix it good. 💜
love the idea!❤️ did you ever experience yellowing on your clay creation? if you did, do you have any tips to prevent it? thankyou☺️
Some do just yellow a little with time, you can get some sprays that say UV protecting and non-yellowing, if you find it a real problem you could use something like that maybe
I love these! Does anyone know how these sealed pots hold up if you spill some water on them when watering your plants. My understanding is that you can't get airdry clay wet. Wondering if the sealant makes this water-resistant (or even water proof). Thanks in advance.
Thank you, mine are water-resistant, so yes I splash the water on them occasionally, wipe away and they are fine, hope you make some
I'm just testing this out on some plastic plant pots I brought. It's working out well so far.
Excellent, let know how they go, enjoy 💜
@@RedRockingBird They have dried really well, I used the Das Stone clay. I left the bottom free so it can still be used as a planter. I'm going to use them to store my art tools.
@@cherie7100 lovely 😊
🦊 ❤️ 😊
❤️ 😊
Can you paint the front of the charms for aromatherapy using only the back?
I’m not quite sure what you mean sorry
Have You make those head/ face pot planters? I have been looking for tutorials to make.
they are fairly straight forward, currently don't have a tutorial though
These are so cute! Thank you for the inspiration. 💕 At about 40 seconds in you say that the clay you're using is in the description below, maybe I'm too early, but it's not there yet. Is it DAS?
Here in the UK we have Hobbycraft and the clay I use in this video is Hobbycraft white air dry clay, and it is almost identical to DAS white air dry clay, which I also use a lot, sorry i didn't add right away, thank you for pointing this out I've put the details in now 💕
@@RedRockingBird Thanks so much! I'm in the Netherlands, so no Hobbycraft for me, but I'll definitely get some DAS. 😊
@@matishtar super, enjoy 😊
I 🥰
✨ ✨ ✨ ✨✨ ✨
I was trying to recreate this and when you said seal between paint coats which kind of seal would you recommend ?
On the bare clay I sometimes use acrylic medium watered down just slightly, or water down mod podge or white glue can work, or just waterdown some acrylic paint for the first coat on the bare clay, hope this helps.
cute! so the bottle stays in?
Yes it does, I wouldn't usually leave a vessel in but needed something as it's a planter
May I ask - how durable is a finished project in air dry clay? Can it withstand being handled? Knocked over on the kitchen counter? Dropped from a low height?
This video on durability shows it all with a drop test too: kzhead.info/sun/nredebKJb319dYE/bejne.html
I may have missed it but do you leave in the plastic bottle or remove once dried?
With this one I leave it in , thank you 😊
Have you tried planting directly in the plastic? I know there are plastic planters but I'm not sure if this type of clay would affect the growth of the plants.
You would want drainage, that's why i did it this way. I always put a plant pot inside a pot.
What are u using to stick those clays together?
Hi, slip, please watch this video of mine kzhead.info/sun/paWPf5uhbWqZZ6M/bejne.html
Does the bottle stay in the pot or does it get removed at some point?
it stays in, no getting that out!
I’m making aromatherapy charms from air dry clay. I had read that they shouldn’t be painted as the essential oils could ruin the paint. Could you just paint the decorative front and leave the back of the charm untouched so that the essential oils can absorb into the charm. That was my question 🙏
I see thank you. There is a chance that the paint may lift or stain if you are repeatedly add moisture and oils to the air dry clay. I’d make one and see how it goes, in fact I will do the same, thank you for your inquisition. Have a great day
I followed you exactly and it completely cracked beyond repair. I've no idea what went wrong??
Oh no, that's such a shame, sorry to hear that, did you do the clay quite thin? Not sure why, or if it dried too fast, or if the brand you have has more moisture in, maybe best stick to projects without a vessel in, which is not my norm anyway. If a few cracks it's ok to repair, but not experienced too many cracks sorry ❤️
Can I substitute slip with water
Some people do, or if the clay is soft enough you can just score and knit together, sometimes just water makes it a bit slippy!
do you leave the plastic inside?
On this occasion yes I did, although I would normally make items without due to the cracking explained in the video 😊
You should make one for #lonefox. He would love it, wouldn't you, Drew?
Love #lonefox Drew could make one too 😍 @lonefox
How do you remove the bottle cant see it
I left the bottle in on this occasion and fixed the cracks
But the bottle has to be removed?
For this one I left the bottle in and fixed the cracks, as shown in the video. For most projects like this yes I would remove the solid object for drying, but I wanted to show how it can work leaving it in, that it will crack and we can fix it.
@@RedRockingBird thank you, I was wondering precisely because it still cannot dry completely inside. but still you can leave it in it will only take longer, right?
