  • I've got a BMW X5 2005 e53 4.8is 98k miles on the clock, just installed a new instrument cluster from id4motion, upgraded the head unit to an xtrons, tinted the rear windows, 4 new tyres, oh and did I mention the lpg gas conversion? 96p a litre! This BMW X5 is without a doubt the best car I've ever owned.

  • What a nice ride! Accelerating smooth and hard gives such a beautiful exhaust note in all modes... N62B48 and stock BOYSEN exhaust system sounds terrific.

  • Is this engine so difficult to keep in good condition? Normal driving outside the city with lpg conversion. Regular oil changes. How many things can go wrong ?

    @MrLudovick31@MrLudovick313 жыл бұрын
    • That was actually my fual pump giving up, drove it like that for a week until the new one arrived, and the other noise was my brakes heat shield rubbing which I never heard until the video 😁

    • @@harley84fly - I'm considering buying a 2005 X5 4.8is with 102,000 miles on it. It would be my first BMW. I'm a bit concerned about the reliability of this vehicle. Which year is your X5?

      @paolo-n2000@paolo-n20003 жыл бұрын
    • @@paolo-n2000 as a 1st BMW I would advise you to reconsider your choice. If you have money to burn then yes. Go for it and learn as you go. If your budget is tight and it took quite some time to get the money togheter then you should probably get a secondary car as a backup or drop the X5 story alltogether. The X5 is great but if you want to get to know the feel and engineering get a E39 first. It shares a lot of parts. And if you get along with a E39, which are fairly cheap to get and easy to re-sell once you want to step out you are pretty much ready to reconsider the X5 again without having anyone to ask. Or stick with the E39. Or get something else. The X5 itself is reliable but every now and then you are up to a not-so-small investment to get it back in mint condition for like another 120k miles before you have to spend the same money again. Depending on the condition of what you are about to buy this "investment" might occur the next day you bought it or the next year or with luck even later. You'll never know until you reach that point and from then you can start counting yourself :) If you are a DIY person you can do a lot yourself but when you are a ''I'll just take it somewhere" person then you'll need a small money treasure that regenerates cash once you take some out of it :) Despite the fact it is an older car that aged fairly well it still wears the "luxury SUV" title with pride and honor. You can translate the last sentence as well into money :)

    • @@_J.P._ Thank you for your response! The more research I did, the more I realized this wasn't the BMW for me. All things considered, I just wanted a "SUV" I could drive from California to Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and back west to Cali!! This wasn't the right vehicle for me. Thanks for your input and sharing your knowledge! Much appreciated!
