The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Brings The Outdoorsy Lifestyle To Families

The #NissanPathfinder got a full redesign in 2022 and since then, it has shown consumers that #Nissan is serious about the 3-row family SUV segment. For 2024, the #PathfinderRockCreek continues to be the most off-road capable version of the #Pathfinder. While the latest generation of this model certainly has a boxier, more rugged look, it still doesn't quite have the capability of the original body-on-frame generations, but the #RockCreek edition does give this family SUV more style and capability.

I saw one of these in person the other day in that brown color and it actually looked pretty sweet !
Thank God....no CVT!!!!
There's no way they actually think the people who'll buy this will be offroading.
My folks took theirs to the outer banks last year. Did just fine and didn’t get stuck.
Define off roading ? Clearly you’re not gonna rock crawl it lol but gladly can handle rugged dirt and gravel roads etc for people who camp. It’s not a mud bogger either
People think off-roading is a dirt or gravel road.
Had a 22 base S and it was a great car. The 9speed is so smooth. Traded it in for a newer used Titan cause I missed deciding a truck but I would definitely recommend the pathfinder.
oddly a "missing" sunroof is a plus .. everytime I open the sunroof the wifey complains about the noise (and the sun) ... there you have it ...and I appreciate the simpler "Tech" (aka gee-whiz-bang stuff) ... I don't need that electronic junk which will fail down the road and cost an arm-and-a-leg (maybe more) to fix ... lol
Wow this ZF 9-speed is really good in the Pathfinder. Idk what Nissan did but they programmed it really well. I know one of the main issues with this transmission was the use of dog clutches, and it isn’t that responsive when needing more acceleration but Nissan somehow worked around that. Surprised to see how good this ZF 9-speed is in this car.
I really like low-content vehicles with solid mechanicals...loving the no-turbo V6 and 9spd ZF driveline! Great review!!
3,000 more subs and you're going to hit a million!
Practicing your arithmetic fella? 🙄
Nissan knows what it's doing. They understand that 99% of people ( Jeep owners included) never go off road..they just want to pose as if they do.
I just got one...Where is the front hook up point for a tow strap???
6:11 you mentioned rooftop tent, lol it’s kind of my idea, but someone else manufactured it. However, I only thought about putting tents on top of my car and not a truck around 2017 or 18. My stepdad is going to get this car in Scarlet Amber color.
Picking one up tomorrow , can’t wait !!
I test drove a Rock Creek yesterday, I didn't notice any loud road noise, more like a faint, comforting hum. Several journalists have said this is loud. If you want quiet, get a Buick. I have a Silverado with similar tires, it's much quieter than that.
Does this really compete with the Grand Highlander? I would think the regular Highlander is the direct competitor which would make the comparison a lot closer.
Hey Sofyan, just a heads up. At 6:50 you mention that a tow hitch is standard, & then pan down to the back of the vehicle & show that there is no tow hitch. The vehicle comes with a hitch receiver, which is what you mount a tow hitch to. A lot of reviewers mess this one up as well, but it is something to make note of.
It clearly has a receiver hitch lmao 😂 it’s black and blends in look against 629
@Hamasisfilthytrash A receiver & a hitch are two different things. A receiver mounts to a vehicle. A hitch slides into the receiver. This vehicle absolutely does NOT have a tow hitch.
Great looking Suv, love the styling
Nice overall review.
I think it’s great and moving in the right direction. It just needs at least 3” more ride height 😊
ive see several and i like the way it looks it does need standard power life gate
I had a chance to test the base model and it’s wild how different the interior quality is. Like that shit was cheap and the door was rattly. Idk about the door stop on the higher trims but even on flat ground the door didn’t stay open
A couple of other small items that the car is missing, that should be standard equipment are the auto dim rearview mirror, and a two position memory for the power drivers seat. One thing I haven't seen many reviewers mention is how low the front passenger seat sits. A shorter passenger ends up with a nice view of the dash. If it had a power passenger seat, it wouldn't be an issue but, the only way to raise it up is to add spacers under the seat base.
I've been a fan of nissan for a while, and I had really high hopes for the Rock Creek. The pathfinder falls short again!! The Pilot is killing it, especially the trailsport vs Rock Creek.
Lordy, “Timberline” from Ford, “Trail Runner” from Toyota, and now “Rock Creek” from Nissan all to compete with *gm’s* AT4 sub-brand within their GMC lineup. Their influence is massive in the auto industry.
What competitor offers a power folding 3rd row, just curious
Probably Hyundai/Kia and/or Jeep
do yal think Nissan will ever bring the Xterra back ?
Why does the front passenger seat sit so low ?
I wonder if he considers himself PUNY!!😂
Are the 3 vents up front fake?
Sad to see Nissan updating their key fob. That thing was iconic!
for 1, I am happy nissan got it together, but its not really offroad capable. Its a unibody platform, if they bring the Xterra with a body on frame they we can talk. I like it, its more of a rugged type of design but true off roaders know this not built for off road. I think its dope for what you get
Wiggles when you jiggle… drop drop 😂
I do agree that Nissan would improve the appeal of the RC if they offered a premium package… but can we normalize a lower spec trim being a lower spec trim. You can’t expect everything to have every feature. ESPECIALLY the way these prices keep rising. Kudos to Nissan for still offering models without all the bloat for people that just need the basics.
@ 4:57 The tire height is 30.5 inches, not 32.
I don’t know why Nissan is playing in our faces with this trim. Rock Creek is giving Pebble Lane.
😂😂😂😂😂
Crazy approach angle for “offroading”
They finally added the gunmetal colour onto the other trims. Nice. That is the only colour I wanted when I go for this pathfinder. I don’t care about how much tech it’s missing, less tech means less to go wrong with it. I would be more than happy with this for 6 or 7 people. As for the seating, I am 6’ tall and 260 pounds. In my driving position, I can fit comfortably in the second row and yes in the third row as well. I cannot say that for the CX90, Highlander, the Kia/Hyundai twins. This reminded me of my old 2004 ford explorer which I could fit comfortably in the third row. My feet fit under the second row and I was not cramped, which was not the case in the other vehicles I tried.
I find it annoying that you are bitching about not have the options the platinum does. That is the reason for the platinum. This thing is under $45 for a reason. The buyer of this car, and the buyer of the platinum are two different buyers. This is a pretty solid vehicle and it looks handsome on the road. That 3.5 is a solid motor that has been getting abused for over a decade. I honestly with is was a 2 row option to have even better/deeper storage in the back. I wish more of these companies had a 3rd row delete option.
If
Yes 100% he is a cry baby
Rock Creek is lacking especially against the trailsport.
I have a 2024 Pathfinder Rock Creek Canadian Specs. And it is awesome!!
Now power passenger seat, no rear cig plug))
Is this the only one with that transmission?
Looks like a Land Rover especially the rear
Why must it have 7 seats. Love to see a 5 seat option on all trims
If your going off road why would you, want a light coloured leather interior 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I actually feel like this vehicle is an examples of Nissan knowing its customer. My folks have one of these and it’s nice for the price. There’s nothing in the class that’s comparable to this at the price. I think Nissan knows they don’t have the customer who would spend to have these be a top trim level with all the options. Kind of like the Frontier. The Pro 4-x competes with a Tacoma TRD Off Road not a TRD Pro. My folks take theirs to the Outer Banks and it does just fine. Air down and it’s not a problem. It’s obviously not going to be doing a ton but many would find it usable.
I like it
Insane SUV Sofyan!
Just picked up My Rock Creek 3 days ago and loving it! We weren't looking for too much luxury and after test driving a few other SUVs, the Rock Creek is exactly what we wanted. Sunroof? Not a fan. BTW, why would Nissan put a sunroof where they put a roof rack?
At lease no CVT, no 1.5 turbo 🎉😅
I’d look at the SL AWD without the special package because I want 18” wheels. I don’t care about the power tailgate I don’t have that now not a deal breaker.
I see a little bit of 2019-2021 Honda Passport in the front grill if you remove the Nissan logo
Get a new doctor
Honestly, getting a mid-level trim fresh off lease in 3 years for like $22k is going to be a really nice option for those shopping for a 3-row. That will be A LOT of car for the money, probably >$10k cheaper than a similar used Honda or Toyota 3-row, and certainly more reliable and fun to drive than a used Explorer, Atlas or Telluride/Pallisade.
This wont really be more reliable than a Palisade/Telluride. They've proven themselves quite solid so far.
I like the Pathfinder. From the inside it seems boxy and functional. Not overly complicated. Sturdy. Probably more fun than the Highlander
Palisade has the xrt trim 😂
Now power passenger seat, no rear cig plug. They really tried to cut costs on this trim and it shows. Frustrating. I drove one tried to buy one a year ago, couldn't get there on the price. I stood firm and walked.
LOL it wiggles a little bit when you jiggle it. It sure does buddy it sure does
7:17 not having a power lift gate on the Rock Creek trim is completely stupid
No sunroof or heated steering wheel on the "outdoorsy" trim tells you just how far off the beaten path Nissan thinks people will take these.
i like nissan but calling it 4WD when it's only AWD is misleading and frowned upon
ok...... but for the price just go 4Runner sr5 with a true low range and not all of us want ,need or will ever have a need or use for 3rd row
Sofyan phone goes off at 7:46
Was this your big thrill for the day pal?
Soyfan's phone was supposedly ringing folks.
The inside is going to get rickety after a few years
Gotta love assumptions.
Even though I am glad to see Nissan get rid of the CVT, they still fail to step up to match other makers. Ground clearance is a big deal these days. No skid plates. Sad tech. Etc.
Once again, biased towards Nissan but Honda gets away with the same thing and he makes excuses for it. Funny how he says “Nissan took a page from Honda with 2nd row button” when in fact it was on the previous gen pathfinder and this gen pathfinder came out before the pilot 🙄
Because Hondas cooler than Nissan. They make better vehicles that are far more sophisticated and better executed Hondas transcend the segment.
@@naveenthemachinematter of opinion
@@Pdep90 not matter of opinion. there’s proof to backup the fact that Hondas better than Nissan whereas there just isn’t with Nissan
@@naveenthemachinewhere is this proof? Or is it just more of subjective opinions.
@@naveenthemachineHonda products transcend the segments in which they compete in? Okay. Even someone as opinionated as yourself has to know how ridiculous that sounds. I understand the trolling thing, to some extent, but that claim is just asinine.
Premium gas, yikes, $1/gallon more than regular gas
Kia Telluride Xpro prestige much better off RD looks and all the luxury features too and similar priced Kia all the way
No CVT is a plus!
Either the PF got huge or this guy needs to get on a ladder to change his mind.
Them calling it a rock creek edition makes it sound more off road worthy than it actually is, plus it’s hideous.
V6 thank you no turbo.
They should have brought the Xterra back. That really could have got them on the wave. Also, that mpg is bad. LIke really bad.
I'm over the huge stupid grills...
That front end is an improvement from the previous generation, but that’s ugly
Lord it's getting worse. Bring back the Xterra
looks horrendous just get the regular one
I don't understand stuffing a 3rd row into a midsize vehicle. The 3rd row is basically useless unless you have a small child.
Many people have small kids
A lot of families are dealing with “surprise” 3rd/4th/5th kids from the 2 years in lockdown. They’re all buying these
Only new thing Nissan did is that key fob other than that every car is outdated except for the Z
Well 2004 Pathfinder looks cooler than this
The rock creek edition seems to be the worst value of all the pathfinder trims. A few thousand dollars more and the SL has alot more options.
Yeah, "it's Becoming rare" for a damn good reason! Because this is a very Outdated technology. Nissan developed a fantastic Hybrid mated to that V6 and it's is way faster AND gets way better MPG, and can tow bigger loads. WTF did they go Backwards with this powertrain? WTF over? Go back to the drawing board Nissan!
Terrible name lol
Nissan will not survive the ev changeover 😂
Those OEM tires are terrible..
Great oem tires
Looks dated already 😕
Agreed
I remember when Nissan was 'cool'
@neverhomepnw they literally make no sense, their flagship car maxima is supposed to be the luxury, fast sporty car yet it has a cvt transmission. Their more expensive suvs like this and the murano cost more than their compact suvs like rogue, yet the rogue is the cheapest out of the 3 but has more tech than both of them including a 12 in digital speedometer. Even the new gtr looks like 2015.
Outside looks amazing.
@@neverhomepnwonly cool nissans are the 400z and gtr that's it.
Do the American brands has 3 row suv's because y'all definitely don't promote and or compare them when y'all be doing y'all reviews
What’s wrong with you man ? You are just crying about g highlander. That turns like a BOAT
Shit creek
Ruined the design. Nobody is even buying these. Ive literally seen 1 on the road
Here is Des Moines everybody is buying them
Less new tech equalls less things to go wrong
@@chrism869 then maybe you need a Model T
so.....what this car for? off road (you kidding me? Honda pilot is better and less gasoline using 😒😒😒😒😒), not a luxury SUV says byeeeeeeee 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒2024 now, Nissan, do you still want to be one of brands in US? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😩😩
So much dated,
Nope, looks great 👍
