  • Not many people know this. It's a very little-known historical fact that the Vikings used a special type of warrior that helped them defeat almost all of their opponents in every country they invaded for generations. When the attack happened they had people at the front leading the charge who when approaching the enemy would roll on the ground toward them, which would surprise the enemy and startle them and give them pause long enough for the Vikings to breach their ranks and annihilate them. The Vikings would always assault in the summertime, which is where we get the word somersault from.
