    • And a lot of folks these days maybe don't appreciate that these are cars from the widow-maker era of super-cars. It takes serious guts and skill to push these cars hard. That was sort of the point where the 'keep it on the road' / 'make it go fast' technology ratio was as small as it was ever going to get. They are video games these days in comparison.

    • GT2 had RUF, which are modified Porsches. No Lamborghinis or Ferraris, but it's not the exact model of cars that make this like GT, it's the style of everything. Racing a bunch of very different cars together in a pretty short race on a race circuit, the way they start all the cars, and even the music they have in the video is all very reminiscent of the menu music in GT. As an American who never got to see this show back in the late 90s and early 2000s, everything about it reminds me of GT. Apparently this show existed before GT, so it's clear to me that GT was definitely inspired in many ways by this show.

Imagine being brave to drive an F50 hard in the track, but then with other cars around it! And what a sound that thing makes. The outcome was as I expected. I imagined either the F40 or F50 in the pole, followed close by the GT2. And I expected that poor little R34 and F355 last. Cool cars though. He was trying to get the owner's GT2 home in 1 piece, not thousands of pieces spread all across the track. Do you know how rare that GT2 is? The only reason the Ferrari's were pushing that hard is arguably because those were the 2 most experienced drivers and the fact that Ferrari's have to be driven on the limit in order for them to work efficiently. The GT2 Porsche is one of the hardest cars in that field to drive, if not the hardest with being rear engined, rear wheel drive, no driver assists and a massive turbo. He did excellent taking the lead at the start, but you try holding off 2 Ferrari's in a GT2 that's not your car and is extremely challenging to drive. I rest my case.

Would like to see him drive the other cars on the limit like he was the F40. LOL All the other drivers seemed like they were out there have a fun race. The F40 dude was driving on the limit, which is cool to see though.

    • @@2likruesco768 I seriously doubt any of them used ABS - it was most likely disabled on all the cars long ago. ABS and TCS in cars like these can only help you if you barely have any idea of how to drive a car at all. For any skillful driver it's just a nuisance.

      @getsideways7257@getsideways72572 жыл бұрын
    • @@getsideways7257 I don’t know if this is sarcasm or what. ABS has regularly been banned and unbanned in racing, most notably Formula 1, due to the advantages it brings on a race track so if you’re being serious you’re wrong lol. All of these cars had ABS except the F40. Hypothetically, if they had disabled the ABS on the cars equipped with it than the test is pointless as we no longer know what the cars stock to stock performance looks like on a race track. Perhaps you’re confusing ABS with VSC?

  • F50 sound is something future generations will never understand why it was as amazing at it was. All I can say about the race is that the F40/ F50 initially seemed like the drivers were...well driving ridiculously rare ferrari's on a track. Quite cautious and the F50 simply capitalized on a better start. F50 is my favourite car of all time. I've watched this video 40000000000000 times and will keep watching it haha Thanks for uploading!

  • I'm sure they put the F40 at the back of the grid to make the race a bit more even. The car is 10 km/h faster than the F50 in the speed trap and faster overall...if they put it there mid pack it would destroy them in the second lap. No wonder Ferrari never allowed to compare F40 vs F50 in real life. The F40 was really ahead of its time in terms of performance.
