Confessions of a teenage drama queen is a pretty weird movie. It's fun, just odd. Not sure we love the overall message of it either. Definitely worth doing a movie commentary and reaction for. Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox act well off of each other. Next movie commentary and reaction video will be for Bring It On!

Love your commentary, I subscribed a few weeks ago.
Yes the movie was released in theaters .
The nostalgia of so bad it's good 🤣🤣
This actually was a theatre release. Not a DCOM haha. But still corny nonetheless.
Try My Best Friend's Wedding, Mystic Pizza or Pretty Woman next. 👀 Okay, I got a thing for Julia Roberts.
Rewatching this when I'm older, I really cannot fathom how *insane* this girl actually was. Imagine being too extreme for the theater kids.
seriously that's a next level delusion
Same! The fact that we loved her and wanted to be like her hahahaha lol
Oh crud
Ridiculous. I loved it as a kid tho, for some reason
For some reason I did dislike her haha she was too much for me
I never realized how wattpad fanfic Y/N this is.
Very that
I didn't realize till your comment!
After the whole spiel about how her parents met, and her unnecessary judging of people with KITCHEN APPLIANCES, I agree
I LOVED this tho
Best comment here 👌🏾
Also want to point out that Carla is wearing several designer items that DEFINED fashion back then. Especially for a rich girl trope. A vintage Burberry Checkered skirt now retails for like 900$. I AM SHOOK on the costume design that went into this.
YES this is how I feel about the Lizzie McGuire movie too. A 14 year old in Vivienne Westwood? Absolutely incredible
Vintage...I nearly choked on my drink. I feel so old, oh my god...
yes! and the vintage gaultier lola wears when she sings dont move on 😍
Why did this remind me of the quote from cloud nine when dove Cameron is talking to will about her bargain hunting skills.. I swear -
there is an amazing video about the fashion in this film, is amazing and it always tells you a lot about the characters
The concern has me wheezing I NEVER NOTICED HOW CREEPY IT WAS THAT THIS ADULT WAS AT A CHILDRENS PARTY
ME EITHERRRR
Oh, come on, they're not 12. They're high school teens and are likely his demographic. Visiting a fan is fine. Geez
Did you miss the big part of the movie when they show that he’s an alcoholic? And he’s way older than those teens, with a huge power imbalance, it is weird. I’m not shitting on this movie, I love it but still it was a weird addition
@@babycommie What power imbalance? And because a fan, a stranger, told him how disappointed she was in him and his drunken behavior, he finally got help for said alcoholism. And he wanted to let her know. You know, show gratitude in person instead of sending a text, email, leaving a voicemail,or sending someone with a note. Seriously, please explain it to me, because I just don't see why that character is getting roasted as being a pedo or bad person. It's not like he sought Them out. Nothing bad happened or was going to happen. In fact, he pretty much ignored them at the party. So, all I'm seeing is that he treated teens with grown up respect by talking to them when they pushed themselves into his life, and now he's the bad guy for showing gratitude for the exchange about his behaviors? Even though she was using him at the same time he was upset about how people use him? I need an explanation
@@LA_HA I agree, I dislike how a man just being in the presence of children is automatically treated as predatory even when he isn’t doing anything pedo-like lol like, the dude just went it and asked to dance with the girl because he felt gratitude towards her, didn’t ask her out or anything, idk why people make such a big deal out of it if nothing came of it
'What a girl wants' with Amanda Bynes and Colin firth needs to be on your list.
Yes!!
Yes! 🙌
what a girl wants is an underrated amanda CLASSIC
i love her boyfriend in it, he was so cute.
@@angietoonz6605 totally one of my first crushes lol
I cannot believe how accurate this movie represented fan culture.
I loved this movie as a child I feel like teenage Lola being obsessed with a band and how dramatic fan culture is is very accurate and relatable lmao. the bonding with other people over the band, the posters, also the sid arthur funeral scene even reminded me of when 1D broke up lol
Same! Fan culture really do be like that. Lol it reminds me of my teenage obsession with MCR and when they broke up, it really felt like my life was over
Omg literally the 1D comparison is too real, I love this movie
@@mcrrockspoft I was about to mention how thousands of mcr fans went into formal mourning when they broke up 😂
this was a great movie. but i forgot what this about. this better be in Netflix.
I liked one song from One Direction, but other than that I didn't care about them too much.
Absolutely obsessed with the energy Megan Fox gives off in this movie, psycho teenage girls really is her thing
The point is that teens and pre-teens always do white lies until it piles up and it becomes a huge thing. Which is what Lola does.
Fun fact: This is the first Megan Fox movie that had the ‘Foreigner riff’ featured. The second being Jennifer’s Body in Melody Lane’s bar
Yesssss I was gonna say the same thing
what's that? Foreigner riff?
@@y00ng1 it's the begining of the song urgent by the band foreigner
I love how the film is called Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and then they act surprised when she's dramatic. XD
Exactly lol, especially when the word "teenage" is in the title. They're the only ones being the drama queens.
Same 😂 lola's character is supposed to be the delusional, overdramatic, lying, hardcore fan. That's the title of the whole movie. 😂 she's a drama queen for a reason 😂 and this movie's her confessions about being one 😂
There is a huge part of me that WANTS to like Lola/Mary, but her personality gets in the way of that. Like, if she was a nicer person, I'd find her quirks endearing. And I think it's awesome once she sets her mind to something, she generally accomplishes it. But then she gets really judgmental, rude, and assumes her problems are the worlds problems, and I start rooting for literally anyone else in the movie.
Same 😅
well that's basically the teenage mentality, any problem, no matter how small, feels big.
@@gatobuho- Lola was a narcissist, compulsive liar and thought the world revolved around her. That's not every teenager's mentality.
Guys she’s a fucking teenager lmao calm down. This is such typical teenage behavior for someone who naturally has a big personality. It mellows out as they age
If I feel like she was probably a cool adult . A pre frontal cortex probably worked wonders.
As a New Yorker can confirm that when we say” around the block” we actually mean 5-10 blocks away from said place 😅
🎶That girl was a one time teenage drama queeeen🎶
🎶A hacked up every day wannabe🎶
🎶 now she’ll have changed her destiny🎶
The reason why there was a blur is because a lot of scenes with Lola and Megan's character were filmed to focus both of them, it's an special technique with the camera, Hitchcock used to do it a lot
also nick deramio pointed out that nowadays most movies do this digitally, but this movie (and hitchcock) did it physically w/ the lens, which is why you see the blur while you wouldn't see it in most modern takes on it
"Check your shit, Megan!" I am screaming.😂 I need that on a t-shirt.
That’d make a great shirt 😂 - Sam
Fun fact: this movie was filmed at my old high school. It’s cool watching it now and being like oh that’s where the science hall is etc.
I have a movie recommendation: Wild Child (2008). Spoiled, entitled LA girl gets sent to a British boarding school. It's funny and quite sweet as it promotes being true to yourself and valuing real friendship.
I LOVE that movie
It’s a great movie!
Omg yes its such a good movie
Love this movie. It is so funny.
It has some pretty wacky ideas about what it's like in England but I love it. :)
I always find it funny how for English speakers Lola sounds exotic, movie star like when is short for Dolores (pain) in Spanish 😭😭😭 that's an weird old lady's name
"Lola" also means grandmother in Filipino so it doesn't really sound that exotic or sexy to me when I hear it in Western movies like this
Sameee lol
That's ironic considering in the US Mary is more of an "old woman's name"
@@janedoe5836 oooh, we have that too, María is the name used in every school book for examples 🥴😂
@@nazarisreyes6037 I still find Maria to be a beautiful name tbh and I'm def naming my future daughter that.😌
As a New Yorker I can say with confidence that she acts the way people assume we act
Sorry
No, she acts like a teenager.
@@FilbertoNecesitaAyuda k
I can agree also got to love the I don't care attitude I'ma be me
@@Jessica-xo8kx exactly lol
😂 Lola was the level of extraness I aspired to when I was growing up.
Literally me! 😂😂
This feels like a movie depicting the symptoms of Histrionic personality disorder
It really does.
Thought this said Hispanic personality disorder. I scrolled back like what lol
Watching you hate on Lola the entire movie really really made me want you to react to the movie 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' just because I bet you gonna hate on Georgia's character too and this movie it's really funny, seriously tho, you need to react to this movie I BEG YOU!!!
Georgia is the worst!
Omg I LOVE that movie!!!
Yesssss
As a 30 year old, I want a life like Ella's parents. They own a house in a nice neighborhood with green grass and trees
I’m 21 and I’ve loved this movie ever since I was a kid, I’m glad people are appreciating it now 😊
It’s wild and weird, but it’s fun haha - Sam
"no he'll just have a coffee" ... Spoken like a true teenager who's never drank alcohol in their life 😂 give the man some food!
I will say, now viewing Lola as the villain does make her slightly more compelling.
she IS the drama queen 😂
I was 9 years old when I saw this, I don't remember any of the plot. And the grown adult addict around an underage girl, Disney this why people are suspicious of you and your morals.
I think if you compare Lola (Mary) and her best friend Ella to the fan girls/ and the STANs now of popular bands in the last decade (1D, Fifth Harmony, 5SOS, etc.) they go super hard in the fandom if any band members say anything on social media about anything and I think that they are being cryptic about a project or something upcoming (which some do to keep fans on their toes but something they’re just say whatever) or if they just walk away from the group or do any kind of project outside of the overall band.
I love how she’s dressed as Audrey Hepburn in the beginning and the play she auditions for is Based on Pygmalian. The same inspiration as for My Fair Lady, where Audrey plays Eliza in the movie. Perfection.
The way she and her friend reacted after their favorite band broke up was the exact same way my best friend reacted when One Direction split up 😂😂
As a child I was so confused because sober stu looked like her dad to me
You guys should watch Ever After with Drew Barrymore. Her Cinderella is one of my favorites.
Omg yesss
A thousand times yes!! And Angelica is my favorite wicked stepmother
Love that one but Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway is my favorite Cinderella ^_^
@@RedRoseSeptember22 oh yes! That’s another fave of mine
this movie is literally perfection
a recommendation to watch is "Don't look under the bed." it's a old Disney movie that many have forgotten and never heard of.
Polarizing opinion ahead! Probably the BEST "Halloween/scary" Disney movie?~ At minimum it's Top 3 scary Disney movies~~~ [Don't Look Under The Bed, Horse Sense, and Jumping Ship were the DCOM movies I loved to watch over & over, and I think they still hold up pretty well^.^]
People don’t really remember Susie Q either, Disney stopped playing it because there’s a drunk driving scene that apparently upset kids
@@AprilRose77 loved that movie! Her pink dress is iconic! it also wasnt an original disney movie. Wonder if they just lost the rights to it or something. They use to play a lot of movies that weren't made by them.
@@pamelawilliams3144 It was SO iconic and then the pink ranger was in it that was such a sweet movie I thought it was a fever dream until years later I found it on KZhead
YES, found on Disney+
Also I LOVE the costuming in this movie it tells the whole story and her motivations. Like you can tell she goes thrift shopping. She dresses for the time period when she’s auditioning. You can tell what she’s feeling based on her outfits and I love it ❤️
This, princess diaries, uptown girls, and eloise at the plaza were my faaaave movies as a kid
This is one of my top tier teen movies lol and also how I found out I’m into girls bc of Megan Fox lmfao 🤣
Your commentary really made me rethink this movie a lot. I haven’t seen it in years and when I was young I never really thought about how crazy Lola is. She might really need therapy for her delusions and the pathological lying. And I’m pretty sure I went to see this in theaters. I was a big fan of Lindsay Lohan back then.
"Her dad is the extra toppings" 😂 Omg this is definitely making my morning great, thanks guys!
This movie is so underrated, I love it so much! 💕
It’s a fun one 😊 - Sam
@@themoviebudz1988 The Notebook 2004 1080p what movie plz
My favourite part of this whole thing is Sam siting there, JUDGING their outfits while wearing a pink shirt, backwards cap with a blue snap and a WRIST WATCH as a ring ....but, oh no, its not any ring its 👏A 👏PINKY 👏RING!!!!!
i saw this in theaters with my parents and my dad walked out to sneak into another movie i can see why now
Movie Budz: Lola always gets her way, so annoying Carla: I always get everything I want Movie Budz: Fair enough 👍
😂😂😂😂
Hey, Budz. I love watching you guys figure out "Lola" it's amazing. She's a DRAMA QUEEN! And a liar she even lies about her name.. I remember watching this in theaters, wild.
Oh yeah, we noticed her insane amounts of lies 😂 hope you like it Sabrina 😊 - Sam

Dude. It’s so weird 😳 - Sam
Yessss this movie lives in my childhood I have the DVD and it's one of my favorite Lindsey Lohan movies
Hope you like this one MiMi 😊 - Sam
The futur boyfriend watching the audition in the dark reminds me of a villlain peeping tom movie.
This channel is quickly becoming one of my favourites, you guys are so underrated
How she ever had a recording contract is beyond me 🤣🤣🤣
Hope Megan’s back didn’t hurt after carrying this film. ❤️
I rewatched this recently for the first time in easily over a decade and I died during the scene where Sam and Lola and she pines over his “flat-jean ass.” 😂 The rock star friendship is also still as bizarre as it was when I first saw it but 🤷🏻♀️ teenage fantasy drama? I would be lying if I said this movie didn’t shape my personality/aesthetic for a few of my preteen years.
I remember loving this movie back in the day but even then I thought that Lola was definitely in the wrong for lying to everyone and that she did not deserve friends like Ella and Sam :D And I did not remember that it was this trippy
I’m a New Yorker and I have no idea what she’s talking about lol. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this movie so this was a nice surprise in my sub box!
Never noticed the weird undertone between Lola and Stu until you guys point it out! Hahahaha
I love how you guys couldn't even justify Lola's crazy 🤣.
i LOVED lolas outfits 😭 especially the beige one from the beginning
Right! She gave us leewwwkkkss
This whole time I thought they were in college when I was a kid, it’s so uncomfortable knowing they were in high school 😳
oh god.. i hadn’t seen this movie since i was a kid and now watching it back... some *very* questionable themes going on here lol 😟 this reminded me of Stuck In The Suburbs, y’all should check that one out as well
I seriously binged your channel within a couple days. I love the movie commentaries. Also, I'm sure someone has shared this already but they expedited finishing mean girls before this movie because they were supposed to be released around the same time. I don't blame them
I forgot how ridiculous this movie is 🤦🏻♀️ so great, thanks for the reaction y’all 💕
I got this DVD as a gift. I remember watching this the first time and loving the visual creativity, some of the costumes (the purple flapper dress is awesome), and the concept that Lola meets her idol and he is just a flawed man. But the rest....NO. I hated the whole mean girl plot. And I was so angry that Stu took the girls to his bedroom, had them change into HIS clothes, and then showed up at the party looking for teenaged Lola only to tell her he got sober for her. It floors me that Disney didn’t see the subtext of the party scenes. Another great commentary, guys.
I was just like her when I was a teenager. I had a miserable life and used to imagine the life I'd like to have. This movie isn't so unrealistic, trust me hahaha
Yall should watch "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"💞💞💞
Holy moly. I only saw this movie once when it first came out. Seeing it now from an adult's perspective? This thing is WILD.
I'm only 14 minutes in and how have I forgotten how fucking insane this movie is?
Wow the nostalgia is so real with this one! Love that you guys chose this movie to react to
Thanks Steph! Hope you enjoyed it 😁 hope you’re doing well too dude 😊 - Sam
I've never clicked so fast in my entire life
Hope you like it 😊 - Sam
To be fair when your favorite band breaks up, especially at that age it feels like hell
Affordable NY place to fit that giant poster had to cost more than mortgage on new house in Jersey.
Hey guys love your reactions😊 I remember being obsessed with this movie as a child but right now I can't remember a single thing about it so I guess I'm gonna experience this movie with you guys😂. Recommendations for the future: you again and he's just not that into you.
It’s kind of a weird movie 😆 I believe they’re on the list 😊 - Sam
5:55 it was the "flat like pancakes, just like the one's mom used to me" for MMMeeeee!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As you guys say, this movie is trying to put Lola as the "good one" and Carla as the "bad one" (and when I was younger I buyed that) but watching it again I see that shes insane hahaha love you bois
I love that you guys pick movies from the early 2000s. Josie and the Pussycats would be a great option. Also for another Lohan movie, Freaky Friday is a good one. It would be cool if you reacted to female led action movies as well. For example, Charlie's Angels (the one from 2000), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and the original Tomb Raider movie from 2001. Keep up the good work. Your videos are great!
LMAO this was my favorite film back in the day and I still like it but yeah, Lola is insane. Also about the production, I'm pretty sure it was a modern rock remake of "My Fair Lady" and there's a scene when Audrey Hepburn's character walks with a book on her head because it was seen as proper etiquette for a woman to be able to walk without making a book fall off her head.
Yup, this movie is as bonkers and all over the place as I remembered it to be. 😂
Stef: No one who’s from a city is THAT into their city Me: Ha, wait til you meet people from Los Angeles 😭😂
I had TOTALLY forgotten how problematic this movie was, wth 🤣🤣
One of my all time faves. So glad you guys decided to react to it
This movie was my entire childhood, that's how I found out about Bowie
I'm still shock how some people don't understand the movie. She is a TEENAGER, she is acting like one. Maybe many of us never acted in that way, but in that ages so many did it. Lola isn't crazy, she is young, she wants to fix somewhere and that is why she lying about all, like a teenager would do.
this movie makes me feel so nostalgic, thank you for reacting to this
I remember watching this movie as a kid, but now I forgot most of it 🤣
These videos are getting me through finals week!! Every time I finish studying I let myself watch one :) Love your content, guys!
"Some people are very patriotic for their city" Me , from Philadephia the city of brotherly drugs: word?
Found this channel a couple of weeks ago you guys are so entertaining 😊
You unlocked crazy nostalgia for me!! 😳 WOOOOWW DEFINITELY a throwback
Even when I was a teenager watching this for the first time I hated Lohan's character. I was like, "really? This is who I'm suppossed to be cheering for? This psycho."
I loved this movie when I was younger and it was difficult watching you rip it to shreds 😂 To be fair, rewatching it now with you guys, I realise it’s pretty cringe, but back then I really thought it was great. 😅
Been going through so much in a short time, ended a relationship, moved and still gotta work on top of it all. This will be so nice to relax and watch and I wish yall had a marathon lol
SO shocked that you guys reacted to this, just remembered it existed a few weeks ago and how much I loved it as a kid!!
As a New Yorker... I- she's doing a lot in this movie 😂 I think the level of pride of being born and raised here is the same as it'd be for anyone else but to be fair my mom almost moved us to Jersey when I was like 13 and then again when I was 15 and both times I thought the world was ending because I may have to leave the city for the major suburbs lol
She’s a compulsive liar. Everyone knew a couple kids like that in school. They were harmless so long as you knew not to believe anything that came out of their mouth.
Omg you just brought all the memories of this film back from when I was 12!!
In Florida people are pretty into their city and where they're from. Especially if you lived in Jacksonville for any amount of time. Just shout the word "Duval" loudly and anyone who has been in Jacksonville for more than two minutes will shout it right back. Hell, we went to a concert in Georgia and still heard 20+ people shout it back at us.
as a teenage drama queen: this movie is so for me. well was. as a 30+ drama queen: i dont think they know what that term means lol she's a liar who is ALSO a drama queen. we exaggerate "oh girl i havent seen you in a thousand years" not lie "i havent seen you since my alive father died"
Okay, but as a new yorker (born and raised on Long Island) if my mom moved me to New Jersey while I was still young I would've been pissed off too. Like NEW JERSEY!? REALLY? I had this movie on DVD when I was young, and I always loved it. It's like an early 2000s rendition of Being a Wallflower, but being introverted wasn't seen as "cool" yet.
I love how y'all knew you would have trouble with the music and copyright in this movie but still made a full, entertaining, funny video out of it. Your dedication is appreciated!
The commentary on these movies by you guys always makes it 10x better.
You guys are so good at doing these movie commentaries
Not to be *that* person, but I was in several theatre productions at my Australian private school, and the budget was at least double what you see here lol. There were about 600 actors, each one in costume, as well as props, set design, choreography, etc. It took us at least 6 months to organise, to the point where our classes only consisted of the morning session, afterwards we'd be rehearsing, painting sets, etc. That being said you're right, it's definitely over the top lol.
Damn Idk how this channel has become one of my favorites... Can't wait for the next video! 🥰
