Front sump pan. Front sump pan. Front sump pan.
Only in Detroit do they have special Beatles that you down to the bone I'm sure they're used for more than deer heads there in Detroit Jimmy Hoffa the new concrete shoe of the 20th century
Front Sump Oil Pan Please Edit: Didn't realize how early I am so its likely you might actually see this. Please fix the oil pan before its an issue. Did you not seen what happened to Hoovies Apollo 911 forever ago? The car is awesome tho
Please don't drive and be on a phone, not cool.. please care for those who are on the road if end up in accident and ruin a family's life you will feel horrible all your life.. so please when driving please hands on the wheels, get Bluetooth or hands-free if need to call someone while driving. Not to mention lots of people watch and try to do things they see on youtube, especially the young new drivers, so lets not get more people on the road thinking its ok to talk on the phone holding it while driving etc.
a little bright but wow unbelievable craftsmanship and sounds perfect
The ending with OJ with a serious face while banging gears and you can't help but smile and laugh trying to do the outro is so golden lol. The new exhaust sounds phenomenal!
Oj looks like that movie the driver. Serious as a psychopath
He was driving angry 💀
Loved the outro 😂
The glance in the mirror at the end of the last pull.. "no bl;ue and reds.. Job done.."
The automotive community needs more folks like OJ, super stand up guy and a heck of a car guru!!!
Hey guys, thanks for looking out on the oil starvation issues on Hoovies LS 911. I had heard of those issues too and I'll definitely be addressing it in a future episode.
How much $$$$
I want this car
Oil pan is now incased with exhaust pipping. Hotter that exhaust gets the thinner that oil is going to get and now there goes the oil pressure.
Old exhaust design done cleanly with some borla’s, a few heat shields would be a better in my opinion.
OJ is the best kind of person to have as a friend! Him and his crew know their stuff! That thing sounds great!
That exhaust is a work of art.
Indeed.
Brother. Front sump pan. Think a few of these builds have had oil starvation issues while turning hard on throttle. All had a standard pan.
Definitely “front sump” oil pan before putting the work into an exhaust that may interfere.
Wouldve been a good idea
I've seen a ton of people comment this , and he hasn't responded to that , so he either doesn't read comments , or doesn't care lol
Active airexhaust will be necessary. Porsches are horrible in that department if you work with a crazy american donor. My 924 drifter needed that for a 3.3L Nissan back in the day. An LS1 is like double that in BTU's
I think there is a baffle kit you can buy for the stock pan too that would help
I was literally smiling ear to ear for the last 8 minutes of the video. Sounds SO good.
That exhaust is a thing of beauty! Such art and craft and experience put into building it. Love that OJ thinks of it as an instrument
I think this car is worth keeping for a long time. It’s worthy of a LSC license plate
It would never pass as original. Not a chance just the body kit says big X not to mention numbers matching ls motor in a porche? Come on bro
It would be a 5 minute inspection with a not pass. But they take his money 1st lol
@@coastalcleaningandmaintena2884Who cares bro, it’s frickin dope. I’d trade my car for this beast any day.
@@SideWaysWatersame thing is Awesome
@@coastalcleaningandmaintena2884here in chicago where Alex is also from we only do a basic obd2 emissions test but no visual or tailpipe inspections
its always nice seeing OJ he is such a stand up guy and smart AF
In the mid 70’s I had the honor to get a 72 Ford De Tomaso Pantera. The engine 351 Cleveland was blown. I paid $22,500 for the car brought it to a place called Race Engineering in Phoenix Arizona and asked them to build me a new engine for it. They put together a 427 crate engine with aluminum heads, all reinforced, blueprinted, and somehow stuck a supercharger on top of it. Back then it cost me $30,000 to get it modified. It dynode at 710 hp and 690 foot pounds of torque. What a car! I wish I still had it because I think it would be something you would love to worked on. But my best friend borrowed the car, taking his wife on a joyride and crashed it into a tree doing 150 miles an hour killing both of them. Please don’t get yourself into trouble with your car. Driving so much power gives us a feeling of invincibility that can go wrong at a instant!
Guys like OJ and Billy are the modern-day equivalent of blacksmiths, textile weavers, and other historical artisans/craftsmen. Beautiful products clearly made with pride are a rare commodity in today's throwaway society.
Gotta love having the police recognize you and being fans. Also, that fluid motor union exhaust work is so nice and sounds great! Wish they were nearby.
Should've spotted him earlier and pulled him for using his phone while driving.
I have a similar situation, but not sure if they’re fans per se
@@andrewholdaway813Depending where you live using the phone while driving is not illegal. Where I live it’s not illegal to use or even text. Not saying it shouldn’t be, but it’s not.
@@zollotech I feel sad for you
@@zollotechit's definitely illegal in Illinois.
What a transformation. It sounds more like a Porsche engine with that exhaust. It's a masterpiece.
Totally agree with you. It even makes that "STREET TUNED" engine sound so much better.
Man, OJ and his crew do some beautiful work. Great Job!
That custom exhaust was DEFINITELY the ticket! It actually sounds like it's more free-flowing, if that's possible. Now you need to get it on a dyno and get the gremlins out of the tune, and you'll probably pick up another 25-50 hp. in the process! OJ and his crew definitely know their stuff about exhaust systems!😄👍👍
That sounds so much better. I never though an LS would sound like that. Good job to OJ and his crew!
Why ?
8 in 1 headers sounds even better
@@retrocompaq5212equal length x pipe is the best solution that doesn't require the massive effort of the 8 to 1 in an application with limited space. I think it's the perfect call here.
It was a fun build!!
@16:12... You should measure those rotors. Based on the size of that lip at the outer edge, those look to be due for replacement. @20:40... I'd clearance the compressor rather than the frame. @26:50... Just have Billy fab up two sheetmetal heat shields.
Hey Alex, just a quick note in reference removing the old harness. Just in case you or some other viewers don't know. There is a tool to remove the wire and the connector end that was left in the round conector block instead of cutting them.
Man, I love your videos, even my wife enjoys them. Just wanted to say thanks for making my weekends more complete. If you’re even on the gulf coast, hit me up!
Thanks! I appreciate you two watching!
@@LegitStreetCars Hey Alex, what brand of brake lub. is that? Never seen martian 👽 green before… thanks. Love the build!!!👍🏾
O.J. is the bomb! and exactly right on the exhaust system. Additionally, the X-pipe crossover will provide increased cylinder scavenging. Alex is right to wait until this exhaust is installed before final tuning. Great work guys!
Haha, OJ going full send with a straight face was epic. It sounds so much better with the exhaust, what an awesome machine! Thanks for the video!
One thing I always admired about this channel. Is Alex always chose ‘tone’ over volume. And now even tune sounds impressive. LoL. And am looking forward to the tune. 👍
The fact that you can actually hear the difference in the video shows how much better that new exhaust is. Great job gents! Beautiful exhaust!
"When Alex asked O.J. to drive and his first question was, 'Do you know the actual red line of this thing?' I was like, let's find out!!" 🤟🤟
O j face at the end when your ending the video and he’s driving the car like it’s meant to be driven H A R D. is priceless. Oj and Alex videos are the best
Man... that sound made me cry. So beautiful. 🥲
So glad I get to listen to Alex's builds on youtube. So glad I don't have to listen to Alex's builds as a neighbor in the morning
Alex, love this pick up. 2 years ago I rolled the dice on a 99' 996 that was sitting in my neighbors garage for 12 years. All because of you and your videos I was inspired and felt confident I could get it running. Well a fuel pump, new tires and a good ol' LSC maintenance refresh later it was running perfectly. $8k for a 99' 911 with 45k miles, 3k to fix it up.
WOW!!! That exhaust has the smoothest bark I think I’ve ever heard!! That sounds amazing Alex!! It must have something to do with the short distance the exhaust needs to travel. What a sound. OJ and his guys are just brilliant at what they do. So impressive. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Smoothest bark, like a Rottweiler with a lozenge.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Ls engines (or).until I heard that sound. Now I wish they all sounded like that.
OJ looks like his father could be Ice T!! OJ is incredibly talented and a plethora of automotive knowledge!!
(The info I supplied is incorrect for this application GL-5 is the correct oil) Hey Alex, I think you should be using a GL-4 75w90. The bag you used looked like the GL-5 stuff designed for hypoid gears. This is a quote from vpracing " They make GL4 gear oils with enough EP additives to protect spur and helical gears in manual transmissions. A GL4 will maintain the necessary balance of viscosity, detergency, and corrosion protection. This type of oil is perfect for vehicle gear applications with high levels of yellow metals. An API GL5 gear oil has higher levels of active sulfur phosphorous, which will corrode yellow metals.".
take a look at the specs for gear lube in the Porsche manual
@jimf5160 Oh yeah, you're right. Ignore what I said. It makes sense that it's gl-5 because it has a transaxle.
I love the confidence you have taking on weird projects knowing that you’ll sort them out! Broken Bright electric van? Running. LS-swapped 911 with unknown overheating issue? I’ll take it! Running. Awesome mechanic skills, Alex.
I’m recording this sound so I can play it inside my car.😂
2 Things can really set a build a part on exterior. Wheels and tires and exhaust. Wheels and tires are easy, but it takes some serious experience and skill to make a good exhaust. O.J. and his team are fantastic from what we have seen. Never lose those guys. That thing came out perfect in my opinion.
I just want to see this with a ducktail to complete the look
Have to understand - this is coming from 50 years of turning wrenches on cars from the 50's to now. That exhaust is Wow! Just amazing work guys!!! Alex, I am envious of your work but this is so crazy great :)! Well Done! Billy, OJ and Fluid MotorUnion amazing!
O.J. is so serious driving this car. Like a mad scientists marveling over his own creation.
That welding... that exaughst is a work of ART!!!!! BEAUTIFUL JOB GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude that sounds WAAAY better!!! Gave me the chills on the drive by! OJ and the crew knocked it way out of the park!
HUGE KUDOS to Fluid Motor Union. That exhaust looks and sounds so much better. I hate to think how much that cost, but if you plan on keeping the car, it is well worth it. Scrapping all that unused wire was the right move. It looks much cleaner under the hood. This video was a great ad for FMU and the great work they do.
The new exhaust fits the Porsche so much better. Before, I wasn't sure what you were going to get besides neatening the engine bay out of it, but those are some great sounds. Props to Fluid Motorunion. Just like OJ said, it needs some more RPM range. Just think what that top end will sound like then.
What I love about this channel is that everything you and your affiliates do to cars is top notch quality and always professional! Everything done to these cars adds to it!
Amazing sound, OJ and his team did a banging job.
Alex never ceases to amaze me with his videos… when I saw the notification for the first video of the series I was like “there you go again another LS swapped 996 as on Hoovies channel”. But o boy was I wrong. Awesome work man! The whole process of getting it fixed and ironing all these issues finished off with that exhaust… This is why lsc is my fav youtube channel
Love the outro with OJ coldly staring straight ahead, hammering it!
OJ has a hell of a shop his exhaust guy did a excellent job 👏
These guys are truly masters of their craft. That is my favorite exhaust I’ve seen on anything by far.
38:17 by far my favorite question answered by the guy who asked it…. That is pure video gold
What did he ask? Is this a six liter?
OJ'S Face ripping through those gears was priceless!!! Alex's was great too, but you can tell that OJ was RIPPING it!!!
Watching Alex enjoy doing what he does is so much fun. What a great channel.
This car is LEGIT! Absolutely in love! Not to mention those dimes on the exhaust, dude is truly an artist.
Super cool when OJ broke down the thought process behind the exhaust
There’s a big difference between workmanship like manner and a hack job! You and the guys at Fluid Motor Union are definitely craftsmen!!
PS. The beautiful build and aesthetics of that exhaust to transform the engine bay was a match for even that soundtrack. Together, a demonstration of a true master at work. This OJ has to be a genius of sorts. Mind blowingly impressive work. Its just superlatives with no room for anything else.
Oh my goodness, this exhaust is absolutely stunning! The craftsmanship is top-notch.
Dudee, people need to hear those exhaust sound with a good headphone, it sounds so good.
I love when someone gets in your car and shows you what it can do.
Alex by far the sickest sounding Porsche I've ever heard. Well done OJ n team.... 💪
Wow, what a difference. That things sounds awesome high up the rev range, like a mini Nascar. Great job OJ and the guys at fluid motor union. That system is a work of art, the welds are beautiful.
The exhaust man is my spirit animal. That face... in the last hard pull. That is me.
Oh the look of determination on OJ's face during the test drive...GO FASTER!!!!
The exhaust looks amazing and sound like a real exotic now.
That's what I thought! Sounds like a exotic car legit
Seeing FMU’s video on the exhaust is such a neat perspective in addition to watching your videos. Love the passion you both have. Takes me back to Saturday mornings watching SpikeTV!
O.J. and Billy a master at there craft! When you let O.J. drive it was like another day at the office! Love how much like a school you got when he was driving had me laughing!
The exhaust note change is so profound it’s encouraged me to reconsider my exhausts
Brilliant Exhaust set up. Ya gotta put this rig around a track, it would be epic. BTW, love RJ's micro expressions and his cool demeanor.
This is why i love OJ, A true legend byhimself. His exhausts was just Beautiful.
Those after shots of the sound when the car is driving past at the end REALLY emphasize how much better it sounds after the exhaust upgrade.
OJ is the exhaust Terminator! No emotion just pure bad assness! Alex should just say I'll be back... with another car lol
As I said in the previous video I had an old Porsche that did the same thing. If you just hold the key a bit longer the starter will turn. We used to put insulation around the starters or just hold the key a bit longer. Heat and magnetism don't like each other since they drastically reduce the force of the magnet. If you hold the starter a bit longer then you increase the magnetic force gradually through electricity and the threshold for the actuation of the starter is met.
I think this would be more relevant if you had an old camaro/corvette. Nothing about the starting mechanism is Porsche anymore.
That exhaust is a masterpiece 🙌🙌! Definitely changed my perception of the car. Can’t wait to see what’s next in this series!
Smokey and the bandit rowing the high school short bus……. 427ci LS can make ya cry just hearing the crop chop
OJ hitting the Rev Limiter is pure gold.
That exhaust is a masterpiece. I added FMU and watched several of their videos. Great collaboration. I'm excited to see your next update on the porche.❤❤❤
Best demonstration of the impact of an exhaust upgrade I’ve ever seen / heard. Loved the car before but now it’s reaching epic status. It sounds glorious! Ill bet it feels as different as it sounds. It’s like how a fresh detail makes a cars drive more refined. Really great video
Love that there are TWO LS Porsches on my favorite KZhead channels. Tony Angelo did the same thing you did with his exhaust.
OJ needs to have a show about Fluid. Full blown show like the shows from back in the day.
Can't imagine the shop that "build" this car for SEMA, thought "we did a good job, we can be really proud of the quality job we did"
They presumably were working on an impossibly tight schedule.
@@erikmeltzer-rt7rhyep, getting it together at all was probably the goal.
By far one of my favorite cars you've gotten on the channel. Keep this one, buddy. Love seeing you fix. Other people's conversions should be a once a month gig.
Don't forget to check brake fluid reservoir isn't too full before you compress the pistons. I would empty the entire reservoir first, clean it and then flush all the old fluid once new pads are installed.
I'm a Ford guy, but I will be honest: Before it sounded like a truck... completely clapped out old Chevy work truck....now it sounds like it got an expensive mid engine Corvette exhaust system! Really like it's new sound (and the cleaning done to it too - and yes those LS sounds amazing at rev limiter) Great work man! Keep it up 👍🏻💪🏻! Greetings from Dubai! 👋🏻😀
The car sounds amazing. Thanks to OJ and Billy. Looks to be a blast to drive. Nice buy Alex.
this is by far the most interesting project you’ve done, the after rips you guys were doing with that amazing exhaust note nearly made me emotional, i would never part with this car! from adelaide australia.
Milwaukee guy here, but bought a 1/4 inch snap on long neck ratchet! And it's awesome!
OJ is a kool laidback brother!😂
Love OJ's work. Great explanation on the exhaust setup.
I'd rework the intake setup before final tuning as well. Sounds amazing.
Oj is a cool guy, always like seeing him straight face all the throwing of gears
Porsche builds are my absolute favorite! Especially this LS Frankenstein Porsche the exhaust was definitely needed!
Geez sounds killer …. Great job! But also a heat shield between exhaust and oil pan.
Night and day. Awesome refined sound. Not just loud. Kudos to O J and the guys at Fluid Motor Union. Great tag team Alex!
Epic pipes.... That is living there my friend, enjoy to the maximum.
Billy's welds are doooope! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Damn what a sound difference. The cars pretty sweet can’t wait to see how it performs once it’s tuned
OJ out here killin the exhaust game…just like the other OJ.
Ba dum tssss
Just love the speed of these videos. None of the slow talking of "well, now I'm going to show you how to ... Oh and here is my dog...."
Love how at the end of the video ur talking and ur friend just floors it. Amazing sound of the v8. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, I'm really impressed with the new exhaust sound! It's become so beautiful and refined, with exceptional precision. Hats off to the team for this incredible upgrade! 👏
A suggestion to fix the non powered steering use an electric prius steering column. I am using one on my 68 mustang build.
OJ is the chillest freaking guy ever, what the hell!!
