  • The reason he beats georgie in the end is most likely cause he reminds him of his mother and her trouble handling the phone. It focuses a lot in the episode on that subject. His face at the end is him realizing that their might be some truth of what melfie said during their session

    • This is true sorta. What we're gonna learn in the depths of Tony as a psychopath full of narcissistic rage. He constantly shift blame, focuse away from himself. He constantly transfers internalized trauma outward to easy targets to victimize. We haven't learned to hate and be disgusted yet. But this first Georgie beat down is a canary in the coal mine of Tony's repugnant festering self.

  • One of the interesting things about this show is that although big, serious things happen, much of the time it's about little details, small events. Many episodes you'd be hard pressed to describe what, if anything, actually happened, but it was all gripping - a tribute to great writing and excellent performances.

  • I’m an old cinema snob who loves reaction videos and somebody on Reddit listed you #1 above two of my favorite channels. With some hesitant curiosity I started watching your channel and have completely become a fan. Your reactions are wonderful. Your authenticity, honesty, humor, and intelligence are really admirable and these videos make me happy. Please keep making more videos because it brings me such joy to see young people discover my favorite films. Hello and “yee-haw” from Austin, Texas. 😉

  • "Captain Teebs" is Tony's attempt to refer to cap d'antibes that Dr. Melfi referred to. He does this kind of thing a lot on the show. He will parrot something he hears in passing to try and sound more worldly or educated. Tony is actually quite intelligent, but he comes from a very provincial, blue-collar background and scenes like this underline this fact.

  • One of David Chase’s ideas about this show was to create a series of one hour movies (86 in all.) The writing, acting, casting - every aspect was done to a extremely high degree of quality. All other limited series’, from Game of Thrones to Breaking Bad owes its existence to The Sopranos.

  • I remember the first time I watched this show. I was almost more excited in the beginning because Steven Van Zandt was in this. He's a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, of which I am a huge fan. I was kind of shocked to see him without his bandanna. Also, the woman who plays Tony's mother (can't remember the name) is absolutely brilliant. She passed away while the last few seasons were in production. Ganja (I think that's how you spell it) is another word for marjuana. Considering she is Jamaican (I think), it might be considered offensive.

    • Nancy Marchand played Livia. She was a well-respected actress who'd done all kinds of stage, movie and TV roles going back to the early 50s. Before Sopranos, she was best-known for being on a show called "Lou Grant" in the late 70s/early 80s...she won 4 Emmys for that character, a newspaper owner named Mrs. Pynchon. If you happened to ever see that show or know anything about it, you get a better understanding of how great an actress she was...Mrs. Pynchon is worlds away from Livia Soprano

And you never EVER say something bad about the boss...in real life (at 13:51) you gonna get beaten up best case scenario..likely if you dont pay the boss and badmouth him you gonna get popped instantly

    • The Italians transported those items into Europe. And built their diet around everything they transported across the Alps. I believe the mafia was created then specifically for “guarding” (taking really) & controlling trade routes. In effect... olive oil was the 1st moonshine. Turn the clock forward 5 centuries & not much has changed really. The mafia still fights to control trade (now trucking) routes. Jimmy Hoffa wasn’t president of the teamsters union by accident.
