couldn't have said it any better, plays with personality unlike a lot of the overpaid divas these days ... unfortunately social-media is stripping away the raw beauty from the game
I fully agree, it really is sad that these types of players are gonna be gone. Our current generation of players with a handful of exceptions are nothing like the previous generation.

One of the best midfielders of his generation. The whole package - aggression, work rate, power, technicque, skills, vision, tactical discipline, defending.. he was basically able to play almost any position in midfield ot top level. And, at least for me, had a great personality too. Definitely one of my favourite italian players ever. Maybe even the best defensive midfielder after makelele retired (easily a better player than makelele), although he was able to play as a box to box equaly good. Even had the ability to play almost as a no 10 with his vision, and skills. Huge player, he could've choose to play for any team in the world but stayed at rome.

*THUG LIFE* CHANEL different players KDB is nowhere near to DDR as a CDM but better offensively though. Plus KDB has 2-3 years at top but this guy played top level for more than 15 years. The reason he is not appreciated enough was his loyality to his club. He could easily go to top teams of BPL or Real/Barca and be praised like Modric or Hazard.

Many people think that Daniele is just a typical defensive midfielder but he is great at playmaking, especially with long passes.. He is also a great leader and since he got injured this session Roma struggle alot.. It's pretty clear no one at Roma can replace him

De Rossi was a box to box player when he was younger and he had pace actually, he wasn't super quick but in terms of pace something like Modric I'd say
the fact that Real, Man Utd, City, Chelsea wanted him for years shows that he was a great player...he just wanted to stay in his team...today midfielders are overrated...

A true midfield general. Great at pretty much everything, with excellent composure, technical quality, physicality and stamina, positional sense and awareness. His anticipation was so high, he was seldom caught out. I'll never forget his performance in the 1-1 with Spain in 2012, playing as a central defender, it was like I was watching the great Baresi once again. I will be in a minority on this, but I rate him even more highly than Pirlo.

As a roma fan myself I can tell you that de rossi is much different from pirlo and Gattuso. Gattuso was tougher but de rossi had better tecnique, while pirlo had more tecnique than him. Ddr is every roma fan's pride, we will always love him
