The funniest thing is how it was actually true. Zidane was terrible after his comeback, and he also was terrible in the group stage. But Marca had to publish that "Vamos a jubilar a Zidane" article, and Domenech obviously put that newspaper cover in the locker room and it literally activated Zidane into god mode. Marca wanted to troll and they ended up motivating the guy who would destroy them 😂

Somente restou saudades de ver a grande maioria desses jogadores. El Nino Torres tão jovem e sendo um monstro mesmo nessa época, aonde ja era um ídolo do Atleti. A seleção espanhola teria sua marca anos depois, quando saiu Raúl e alguns outros jogadores do setor defensivo que convenhamos eram limitados ao extremo. Claro que tivemos Xavi / Iniesta / Puyol / Capdevilla / Ramos e entre outros em seu pleno auge técnico e tático. 2008/12... simplesmente brilhante, obrigado senhor Aragonés, definiu uma identidade para a seleção e a deixou marcada.

I always root for Italy but that year, I felt bad for France as they played the best tournament. Italy played the best game against the host - Germany - in the semis but France were the best looking and performing team overall. But well - Italy was unlucky in Rotterdam in 2000 when Toldo played the tournament of his life, Totti and Inzaghi were magnificent and they lost after extra time resulting from a last minute goal. So they took their revenge.

Somente restou saudades de ver a grande maioria desses jogadores. El Nino Torres tão jovem e sendo um monstro mesmo nessa época, aonde ja era um ídolo do Atleti. A seleção espanhola teria sua marca anos depois, quando saiu Raúl e alguns outros jogadores do setor defensivo que convenhamos eram limitados ao extremo. Claro que tivemos Xavi / Iniesta / Puyol / Capdevilla / Ramos e entre outros em seu pleno auge técnico e tático. 2008/12... simplesmente brilhante, obrigado senhor Aragonés, definiu uma identidade para a seleção e a deixou marcada.
