Actually gave me chills and goosebumps the first 30sec of song
Back when being famous actually required talent. Amazing how great her voice sounds live! A stage, a few instruments, and her singing. Wow!
Like real foot pedals no guitar tech switching effects for ya…KEEPING IT REAL…
Agreed. How 'bout the words to the music to the message. How 'bout reality and the artists like her that tried to convey this message.
@@vn9501 I'm with you on those lyrics. From my pov it's like I can see and hear the God/Spirit/Deity within her talking to the same within us.
Was about to say the same, she doesnt sound any different to the studio version, amazing
Back when a singer could consistently hit pitch. Could write deep lyrics. Could actually have a melody. Her voice is stellar.
No choreographed dancing, no flash lighting. Just an amazing singer letting her singing speak for itself. Brilliant.
idd great performance!!
Absolutely
Spot on Glen, your comment is exactly what music should be about her voice and the band, not what she was wearing or anything else.
Well said dude
I can't believe Adele didn't try to do something similar instead of crying about her "show" wasn't ready.
You don't need dancers and flashing lights when you have talent like this lady
No half naked dancers or blinding lights shining in your face just total talent.
Yep. Not like todays studio manufactured plastic stars who can’t sing worth a damn and would die without auto tune I miss this time … wish I could time travel ❤
Yes....come out and get it done...SO good. SO solid...
You got that rite
no WAP.... just beautiful talent.
The older I get the more profound and relevant the lyrics become. When you’re young you hear the music, when you get older you hear the words. Thank you!
Beautiful and true As is Alanis
Dsq
Unless you listen to them from the start im 27 in November and I chose songs for the lyrics just the backing sound the lyrics are the heart and soul of thr song with out them they're not that differant from any other songs
Thank you!
@@margaretaldridge635 Then when you're 47 years old, you can revisit this comment, and then maybe, you'll understand what the hell he was on about.

What an absolute magical person.
This lady just lights up this 72yr old's day. She's as natural as sunlight. X
She does the same for this 74, soon to become 75 year old; amazing voice.
Watching Alanis is like staring into a fire for ages. Unbelievable voice and beauty
How come the world hasn't heard from this huge, sensitive, and powerful sweet voice from quite some time??? Thank you Alanis for existing.
dedicated her time to her kids
dedicated her time to her kids
🙌
I saw her in Manchester, England in June 2022. She's still around.
She's amazing...❤
Not one phone in the crowd, just an audience experiencing the music as it should be. Perfectly attuned, bliss.
It wasnt so common as nowadays.
Era proibido
Mobile phones didn’t have cameras in them back then
May 2022... Still gives me goosebumps. Her voice, live. What a talent!
Wife and I see her at an outdoor amphitheatre this Friday night..... I remember hearing her songs in the 90s. It also impresses me that her voice is almost exactly the same.
Me too
Thank you I fully full up now
January 2023. Same thing
March 23 ..I agree with you
Thee most naturally beautiful woman on the planet
One of the few artists of our time that sounds even better live than in a studio. A sign of true and pure talent. Love this woman’s music and especially this song!
Hell yes!
Most definitely
I have loved your Music for quite a while...Your Voice is Impeccable...🙏🎼

There is nothing more powerful than a great song with a great message. Thank you Alanis.

How ‘bout me not blaming you for everything? Needed much in 2023. ✌️
Physically, she is just fascinating to watch. Her movements are unique and I am transfixed. What a great song.
Mesmerizing
Like watching a female version of Joe Cocker.
@@TC-dw6wg Wow, I would nevr have thought of this, but it is spot on!!

Her awkward stage presence is absolutely adorable. I didn't realise how profound and poignant Alanis was in the 90's. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Im 37 and only just took this in. We need more messages like this in music. Wow. Wow. I am awaken.
Am I the only one that wishes we could go back in time to these days? Simple yet beautiful times.
Nope, ur def not alone there brother
She sounds better live than the studio version, a true 90s artist for the 2020s, her voice will live on….pure and raw talent.
Beauty song .
Not only does she have a beautiful powerful voice but she is beautiful as a person

I love her songs, her voice, her lyrics.. specially this song cause it was an epiphany when she went to india
Her live performances are even more satisfying than a studio recording and that's hard to say for most these days. Love you Alanis. xoxo
Very true! My favorite versions of Sympathetic Character, Flinch, and Purgatorying are the live performances in the Feast on Scraps DVD.
Thank you
There's a better version where she looking hair naked singing several spots and places anyways I'll shh
Never really listened to her when she had her hits, I’m 65 now and listen to her songs all the time, she’s great. Thanks
Same with me
Same, well 59
Obviously she has LOTS of great songs....but imo, this is THE best song she ever made. It's so pure....and honest. And not just lyrically. Musically it's SO interesting to me. Real simple...just the basic 1, 4, and 5 chord. That's it. But it ends up transcendent sounding. One of those super rare 100% perfect pop songs that just works on every single level.
I misread that as tits. Im so ashamed.
Then your best days are ahead of you latebloomer..
Since childhood, you have consistently been my favorite female singer.
No auto tune and live love it ❤
What a voice , what a gift .
So Good I Cry Forever For Her in Joy

Crazy special voice!!!!! So much talent. Whomever said let's use the organs was sharp. I would liked to have seen that song come together in the studio. I bet some people were just besides themselves????
Alanis Morrisette is a gift.
She is so incredibly talented.
Loving her mannerisms when she sings - that hand has a life of it's own lol! She's awesome!
Would be better if she was naked and kept her mouth shut.
Me too :)
She looks like a muppet.

I've heard this song many many times....and it touches me, every time. Thanks Alanis.
true!!!
Not _thanks_ Alanis... ...but rather *THANK YOU* Alanis!
Alanis Morisette is awesome and beautiful. Peace. Alanis Morisette. Never met you but u got good songs
She is such an underrated artist. She deserved a lot more success than what she got, comparing to how today's artist are
She might say she got more than enough. She's one of those artists who put it all out there, take it or leave it, without selling her soul.
Not underrated in the context of the right generation.
She was absolutely HUGE in the 1990's with multiple massive hits. Not underrated!! You had to be there I guess..♥️♥️
Dude, Jagged Little Pill is in the top 20 best selling albums OF ALL TIME. And she’s won 7 Grammy’s, including Album of the Year. She’s a household name and has influenced many artists since the 90s. She’s not underrated 😂
Far from underrated
And thank you Alanis, thank you very, very much.
What a absolutely wonderful voice and being live it's a treat to listen to her. Can't stop playing this!
Yep..so true!
A real masterpiece! And absolutely outstanding with Alanis’ voice, the piano and fruns!

I was lucky enough to see her live and I was blown away as a 13-14 year old seeing such an amazing Artist / Singer - Wow ✌🏻
You were so lucky 😊
I'm neither a fatalist nor a pessimist, but the truth is truth: There will never be another age nor talent like this. Thank U Alanis....we are indebted.
what you are or are you not, did not realy any matter. But if you want your words to be real and true forever, be clever! in the eternal becoming of time and space and all that beings together, who would seriously want to claim that there would ever be something like never. ;)

I just cannot stop listening to this song and cannot stop watching Alanis perform. She is such a wonderful personality. I'm a drummer myself and this songs beat just resonates with my soul. I love Gary's style of playing. Love you Alanis. Thank you for this song.

Fabulous! Been a fan since Jagged Little Pill. Alanis is one of the last of her generation to be GREAT while fully clothed. Most of today's pop stars dress like they belong in a strip club, and sing like it, too.
Well apart from the video for this song when she appeared naked 😄😄 But agree with you, what a fantastic talent she has. Amazing voice
Yea Alanis has lived all that pain and simply tries to explain it . Beautiful and sad at same time
Jesus Christ what a voice, it floats but has a hard bottom, she's just solid.
Oh and an even better song writer
What an absolute fabulous voice!! ❤
Alannis gets a lot of energy into these ballad type songs. remarkable.
Heres an old school comment for you... working at a house doing a fitting wardrobe back in the 90s and had a cassette player with us in the house on the job and this came on the radio and I shot out the house to the van to grab a tape and recorded this! How times have changed 😉😉😉

I would not go that far but she has a very good voice indeed. I think it would be hard to say Jewel, Florence, and some others are worse though.

It was in November 1998 for the amnesty concert! I was there (19yo at this time!)...but mainly for Radiohead still on his ok computer tour (many people left after the Radiohead set, too bad for the last band to play even if i dont remember which one ;) ). Page and Plant (a f***ing dream) was there too and the Dalai lama himself came and spokes 20 min!! So amazing...miss the 90's and its music. Lots of wonderful memories.
Her mind is beyond genius...she is really looking into the future with accolade and caution to the truth and undertones of getting to the real core values. She is 20 years ahead.
