In today's video, we unravel the greatest prison escape in history: The Great Prison Escape of World War II. In 1944, 76 Allied airmen achieved the most audacious prison escape ever, breaking out of Stalag Luft III, a maximum security prison dubbed Europe's Fort Knox. This extraordinary tale of the smartest prison escapes features 76 prisoners, including Squadron Leader Roger Bushell, who masterminded the construction of three clandestine tunnels - Tom, Dick, and Harry.
We'll delve into the incredible engineering feats and strategic planning behind this daring prison escape from the toughest prison escape scenario ever. These 76 men not only broke out of one of history's most fortified prisons but also executed a plan involving millions of dollars worth of resources and intellect. Witness the tension-filled night of March 24, 1944, as these courageous individuals embarked on their journey, defying the most advanced security measures in the Luftwaffe's most secure facility.
However, the escape from Europe's most secure prison had dire consequences. Many escapees were recaptured, and some faced execution on Hitler's direct orders, a blatant defiance of the Geneva Convention.

An Australian led 47 out and got to the Spanish partisans 😅😅
👍
i think there was movie based on this true escape story
there sure was its called the great escape made i think in 1963 if you have not watched it have a look at it its a bloody good movie
There was no tunnel named David in the real story.
Tom, DICK & Harry. The narrator made an honest mistake.
@@Dr.J.Garlock Doubt it. I think he just was scared of being demonetized for saying Dick.
My God! The recounting of these events is great but the over-meticulously crafted way things are explained in this series of videos and videos by other people is so annoying. Don't even get me started on the mispronounced words and the video clips from times in history that aren't being discussed.
"50"; now i know this is the true story of that movie that starred Maverick; "the great escape" (?)
Congrats bro what a story 😂
3rd Tunnel was Dick.
It's natural for Hitler to be mad afte so many escapes😂...great video👏
He’s always mad 😅
@@RobbersIQHe was 👌
Kinda of thinking if the Germans plant microfons underground to detect digging how they could dig 3 tonnels??
Went deeper.
The situation was explained as the digging took place in the cornered blocks that held the barracks up and not in the open spaces under the barracks.
