Heaviest Battle Tank Arjun Mark 1A Mark 2 | How it works
This is the Arjun Tank which is India’s first indigenous built tanks.
It has its ups and down during production from 1986 but it did turn out great with this updated version.
Interestingly,The Arjun Mark 1 Alpha service version is similar to this Lehpard 2 MBT because the tank was co-developed, with Krauss-Maffei,who designed the original German Main Battle tank. This technical assistance is common in every countries.

A few corrections for some of the mistake you’ve made regarding the spelling and functions: - 3:49 The gun is a RWS turret for the commander to take control and clear lightly armored vehicle or infantry, not for anti-aircraft duties though it could be used against low-flying helicopters. - 5:00 The American M1A2 is named “Abrams” and not “Abhraham” -2:08 The correct term is “APFSDS” or Armored Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot and not “FSAPDS”, kind of strange as you’ve correctly spelled them correctly at 1:34 - 3:44 The IR Jammer does not work like a hard kill APS where it intercept the incoming round with a round of its own, but rather jams the IR camera of the incoming missiles making them blind and thus tends to fly off and miss the tank. Other than these, you’ve made a pretty good but somewhat simple explanation of how a tank like this would’ve work, got the basics well and that’s ok. 👍
Will pin this Comment in our Comment Correction Section. We highly value your Feedbacks. KZhead is a great Community to learn, and grow.
So it is an anti aircraft machine gun. You said it yourself.
@@kolinmartz it can be use for anti-aircraft purpose, but it’s not its intended purpose. It’s main purpose was to fight lightly armored vehicles and infantry.
Also the the side ERA coverage is over exaggerated 1:13 , there's only 3 blocks of ERA covering the front part of both sides, not the entire side hull as the video highlighted and in 1:23 you showed a composite armor array in the ERA block And in 4:09, the blow off panel does not really protect the ammo or prevent explosion, it's there so when incase of an ammo cook off the fire will go upwards not into the crew compartment, Arjun have separate ammo containers as the main ammo protection for the crew And Arjun Mk1A isnt the heaviest main battle tank, its currently the Challenger 2 TES thats 73 tons
Lot of more errors include not considering the Challenger Mark 2 which weighs 75t with combat armour. And the M1A2 SEP V3 weighs 66.8 tons similar to Arjun MK1A. One more aspect is the statement of LAHAT getting integrated. LAHAT tests are done and dusted. What's been integrated is India's own SAMHO missiles. Around 4 tests completed including minimum and maximum ranges. The statement regarding obsolete is also wrong since MK1A is being designed to stay contemporary.
Kudos to my Indian brothers. Keep developing.
Ur mother must hav been an Indian then

Thank you
@Bewlay Brother yeah brother Guys like you and uncle Sam also keep trying to destroy worlds peace by supplying weapons to countries already involved in traditional conflicts and keep chewing most of the world's resources by letting people of of countries to starve 😑😑😑
Development hell.
This tank is only being deployed to the desert plains on the border of Pakistan. Mobility is less of an issue there. Rest of the front lines in India are mountains and a smaller heavily irrigated area with lots of bridges - other lighter tanks are used there. India is building an indegenious light tank as well - Zorawar.
Correct and hence the need for the mine plows when going through the dessert areas into Pakistan, where there are extensive minefields. They might become a problem in the built up areas. There is a smaller 50 tonner being developed for the mountains
I wonder what Arjun would do against VT4s lmao
@@gwshd-6344 it was designed mainly to counter the US Abrams if Pakistan ever gets them...
@@plinnytheother6107 no bro its a 20 ton tank they are developing not 25 ton
@@gwshd-6344 The VT4s will get smoked lmao. They are not functional or performing well, even as their counterpart Al-Khalid has shown in Pakistan(Al-Khalid is basically a Pakistani license assembled VT4, a bit dumbed down and painted with Pakistani logos and colors), where this tank is suffering from service issues, performance issues, quality problems where the barrels are bursting out when firing etc. Similar problems have been seen recently with their Chinese made JF17 thunder fleets in Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries, where entire JF17 fleets are grounded due to constant crashes and difficulties. Besides, this is not a fair comparison as the VT4 is a light tank essentially and the Arjun is a heavy tank.
Very nice representation. I cannot even imagine how much work you have to put in designing and animating all of this. Good job.

It is impressive for the first attempt. Let's hope for the next one to be a nice upgrade in the design.
Great video. Fairly sure our current M1A2's weigh well over 64 tons without ammo or fuel. The M1A2 SEP I had in Mosul 2007-2008 weighed over 80 tons battle-loaded and fueled (reactive armor kit, additional bottom mounted blast plate, 2nd .50 on the barrel & extra, extra ammo).
Challenger 2 is up there in the heavy tank club. It a race to be the thickest tank.
Can you tell me what is the most modern version of Abrams tank?
@@randomgoodvideos1569 Can't keep up with them now that I'm out. The M1A2 SEP3 is in play, as in some armored units have them. The M1A3 is an ongoing project, and it is incorporating changes made in the M1A2 SEP4, which is also an ongoing project. The critical weak point in most modern main battle tanks is the weak top turret armor. That's not an easy passive fix. Need a new turret designed from scratch and you might as well redo the whole tank at that point.

Blow off pannel doesn't prevent explosion of the ammo, it prevents the explosion from going into the crew by making it go outside of the tank.
If the shot is hit inside the turret, not in the ammo box, he is talking about. It will prevent it from cooking of the ammo and doesn't explode like a pressure cooker. (Pun intended)

this tank is well capable only problem is its weight which doesnt allow it to work on mountains as recently chinease aggression has increased on indo-china border military requires a light or medium class battle tank which is in underdevelopment currently by the name of "zorawar" and expected 700 units to be precured of the tank in near future military insted of acquiring the arjun tanks it is finding opportunity to export it as it has a great export potential😁
Few benefits, it can climb steep incline due to engin capacity, so it's no longer limitation, two limitations( which are for all mbts around the world today) what I feel is cost of such advance tanks 2) limited protection due against advance infantry weapon systems.. If protection is achieved against handheld missiles then tanks will br back in business ( like in ww2)

Wonderful explaination...
Very nicely explained 👏
ERA typically consists of explosives and metal payloads, which explodes on contact with incoming projectile to offer protection. The ones shown by the video are composite armour, more typically located in the actual body of the tank.
Which software did you use for the animation?
Blender 3d
Excellent representation
You guys are awesome
The main reason why the Arjun is so heavy is due to the tank not using very advanced armour such as depleted uranium alloys or chobahm style armour (NERA). Instead it uses reflector plates in the same concept that the T80 turret or the T90A turret uses. To have more armour than a T80 without using ERA is a very hard thing to do without NERA that's why I consider the Arjun to be a masterfully engineered tank even if it doesn't top the list, it's still a kicker!
The m1a2 is 82 tones because of the du that’s fully combat loaded also
Another reason is that the Army wanted a 4 crew design with manual loading. Automatic loaders on the Army's T90s seemed to get jammed at high heats of the deserts .
But sources say Indian Kanchan Armor is similar to British Chobham Armor. It is a advance composite armor for sure
@@darkhammer2078 nope Abrams is pretty lightweight compared to Arjun. Abrams fully loaded is 62,000 kg battle ready, while Arjun is 74,000 kg battle ready. Abrams has a 12,000 kg advantage.
