It's just we have to use ourselves wisely in & out keeping everything in balance that's it. Means we have to use our brains wisely. Remember balance is the key to life & beyond! • Its plagiarism from Brian Greene and its not the best explanation of SR that's for sure. A 3D geometric image of spacetime is the most intuitive interpretation of our universe. This tutorial is good but does not explain what time is, so is insufficient and unreliable, and certainly NOT worthy of teaching reality to others. This video should be removed from the internet for misleading its viewers into believing a false reality.

      @jack.d7873@jack.d78739 ай бұрын
    • @@Machistmo - Yeah, I just don't see how this explanation is accurate. For instance, with the two people on the train signing the documents when they see the light go on, what difference does it make if you are standing on the platform watching the train go by, or if you are on the train? This video states that the people watching from the platform will see the one person signing before the other one. WHY??? They stressed that the speed of light is constant. We also know that each person on the train is the same distance from the bulb. So, when the light bulb lights up, BOTH people on the train will see the light at the same time, and thus begin signing at the same time. And with the clock which is a light ball bouncing up and down, I can see where a stationary observer watching the clock race by them will see the path of the light ball being in a diagonal path, but so what? Let's say the clock "ticks" every time the light ball hits the top "plate". If the speed of light is constant, then the amount of time for the light ball to complete one cycle (ie: go down then back up) will be the same regardless of how fast the clock is moving. So how exactly is it showing a slowing down of time if the time it takes to complete a cycle never changes? Maybe I'm missing something here, but I just don't get it.

    • Time-dialation is an illusion of charge. The specific charge changes with speed and changes the clocks. Also, the density of the medium changes the speed of clocks. You can find a better explanation from dialect. Everything continues from moment to moment even if some of them don't decay quickly on the nature of their waves.

    • @TheGreatKhan The Religion of Relativity. Or aren't you aware that it promises you eternal life? I dont know what rock you are living under, but Einstein created a fair tale Spacetime universe to peddle his religion. Example, Relativity universe - traveling at the speed of light, one does not age. One does not experience a moment of time. Real universe - an astronaut's heart rate is ACCELERATED on the way to the speed of light while the onbosrd clock is decelerating. Relativity universe - mass increases as acceleration I'm space increases. Real universe - mass decreases as evidenced by hot water (accelerated) having less mass than cold water. That solar sails are disintegrating into space on the way to c. The reality is that nothing can exist long enough to make to make it to c. Einstein’s Spacetime universe is a fantasy universe. Created to peddle his relativity theories when they weren't working in the real universe. Call it pseudo-science, religion, and BS. It's all the same. The fact that you are here, worshipping Einstein, proves that it's religion.

Change the amount of force to compensate for the different environment they are operating in I suggest you do your own research and quit parroting Church of Relativity dogma.

    • I think technically in Interstellar, the time dilation is caused by the extremely large gravitational forces of the black hole, which is dealt with by general not special relativity. But the practical effect is the same, high speed/high gravity = the slower time ticks.

    • People have already told u it’s due to gravity so i’ll skip past that. Instead, I’ll try to explain it the best I can through a comment. A good way to differentiate between special and general relativity is that special relativity is in fact a special case in physics. Specifically when there is no acceleration. General relativity, however, does consider nonzero acceleration. In fact, in general relativity gravity can be thought of as purely an acceleration. Exactly the same type of acceleration that you feel in the car or on a train! Now this is where it may get a little confusing: in special relativity, higher velocity causes greater time dilation; in general relativity, a lower potential energy causes greater time dilation (specifically gravitational potential energy). You can think of a person on top of a building for this. That person would have a greater potential energy than someone on the ground and would therefore be farther away from the center of the earth. Because of this, gravity would be a little weaker for the person on the building than it would for the one on the ground. Therefore, the person on the building would perceive the person on the ground to be moving slower than normal. This is a very basic and minimal intro into GR. To really learn it you’ll also need to learn a lot of tensor analysis. Really cool subject if you ever get the chance to study it.

  • In the moving train example, the real explanation is due to the fact that the passenger on the left (relative to the platform observers) is closer to the observers at the time the light signal reaches the passenger. Thus, the observed light signal needs to travel a shorter distance to reach the observers, so it arrives sooner. The passenger on the right is traveling away from the observers, and is therefore farther away when the light reaches, so it takes longer for the observed signal to reach the platform in that case.

  • This is an awful and misleading video. The "light clock" example is very wrong, not only for the fact that no such clock exists, but you FALSELY state that "slower tick tocks mean time runs slowly." If light were to take a longer (diagonal) path then, of course, it would take a longer time to do this - so at no point have you shown that time "runs slowly". What you have done there is confused clocks with time. You also FALELY state that there is a stationary clock when there is not. If there is a (constant) velocity between the 2 clocks then each clock (or an observer with the clock) can regard themselves as stationary - in their own reference frame - and regard the other clock as moving (relative TO them, and only to them). Therefore each observer will see (measure) the other clock as going slower than theirs. It should be obvious from Einstein's first postulate that as the laws of physics are the same for each observer (and clock) there are no forces acting to physically slow either clock down, and that if you have 2 clocks they cannot each be going slower than the other, so any perceived slowing down of clocks must only be an observing or measuring effect and not a physical effect. This is especially true when the fact is stated that time cannot slow down anyway because it does not have an actual speed to begin with - just try writing down what speed you think time is "flowing" at and what you get is not a speed under and physics definition. The Hafele-Keating experiment and the muons examples are not experiments which are part of "Einstein’s Special Relativity Theory" (from the title of this video) as both involve acceleration, and niether experiment describes what time is or shows that it has changed in any way. The stupid example at the end involving the friends also includes acceleration and is pure fiction - it has never been done so it has never been confirmed to be right. Clocks can slow down (as in gravitational time dilation - where a stronger gravitational field strengh will slow down even an atomic clock's mechanism) but time cannot slow down.

  • What we commonly refer to as 'time' is, in fact, a mechanism. If you think of time as a constant, like a clock, it might lead to confusion. In reality, what we describe as 'time' is a series of simple cyclical actions. Each object follows its own unique cycle. To gain a better understanding, envision 'time' as individual cycles. It behaves somewhat like heat, with variations influenced by gravity and the rate of space flow (where 'gravity' represents space itself). The main challenge lies in interpreting the terms we use. 'Time' may not be the most accurate word; 'cycles' might be a more appropriate choice."

  • Great video! I believe time dilation can be better applied to the size of the observer vs the speed of the observer. The closer one is to the core of our planet, the faster time appears to pass for you which can be compared to the microscopic size. The further one is away from the core of our planet, which would be the larger observer, time appears to pass more slowly than that of the smaller observer.

  • The train example has helped me understand the theory a lot more, thanks!

    @paulzhang4810@paulzhang48109 ай бұрын
    • Except that the train example, as far as I can tell, is completely wrong! Neither leader in the train is moving away or towards the light flash, as they are both sitting the same distance from the light flash. How can one say that an observer on the platform would see one leader moving towards the light flash when the light flash itself is moving away from the observer? They are mixing apples and oranges here.

      @jszlauko@jszlauko8 ай бұрын
    • @@jszlauko I think it is because light moves at the same speed to the observer's perspective regardless of where the observer is. And so if the observer is outside the train, he will see light move at the speed it is supposed to, even if the train is moving. And so to the observer outside the train, light within the compartment moves at a set speed, while the two leaders themselves are moving at different speeds, which is why it appears to reach one leader first.

      @paulzhang4810@paulzhang48108 ай бұрын
    • @@paulzhang4810 - I realized my mistake after further research. It’s like you said, in that to the observers, the speed of light is constant. What it really comes down to though is that nothing can go faster than the speed of light, regardless of what it’s being related to. Thus, when the light leaves the source and is heading towards the one leader, normally its speed relative to the ground would be added to the train’s speed, so you’d have the speed of the light relative to the ground as the speed of light plus the speed of the train. BUT, since nothing can go faster than the speed of light, the light going towards the one leader is just the speed of light, as it cannot get that added speed of the train. Thus, the light arrives at the one leader later than it does the other one.

      @jszlauko@jszlauko8 ай бұрын
    • @@jszlauko I think I get what you are saying, but I would like to add a few ideas. EVEN IF the train were to travel faster than light, light itself will still travel at its predetermined speed. This is because light is not a mass -- it is energy. It is not affected by the movement of the train. And so no matter where you stand, inside or outside the train, light will appear to you and you alone to be travelling at its predefined speed. If you are inside the train, light will travel at its speed. If you are outside the train looking in, light will travel at the same speed, but appear to reach one leader first. It's like Schrodinger's Cat -- there's simply two scenarios in this case and both are real, both are possible. This is my take on the example, and I'm not sure how accurate I am. But this example explains the experiment scientists did with two clocks (where one clock, brought on an airplane and flown around the world, ended up being slower than the other clock that stayed stationary).

  • Oh my God!.. best explanation ever, thank you so much...

  • Understanding what time truly is can assist in everything time related... Time isn't a dimension, it's a relative perception... Time is how we measure the rate of change of Universal Decay... Change is constant, therefore time is constant... Time is relative to the intelligent life form measuring it... Time is relative to the lifeform's lifespan, spins, orbits, source star and environmental conditions... This is also why it seems like time slows down or speeds up in different environments... It's the rate of decay that changes... By decay, I don't just mean biological decay, which is what most people think... It can be better thought of as Situational Decay, as in the variables and their situations changing... Time also doesn't flow on just one line, hence the term timeline... People see time this way bcuz it's a symptom of following the dollar... It's easier to calculate pay scales, man hours, profit margins, etc etc etc if only one perspective is used... Calendars are also a symptom of this dollar worshipping structure, even though most calendars still recognize the solstices and other more natural situations... Time flows in all directions omnipresently, at the same time... Energy is everything and everything is energy in one form or phase or another... Energy isn't created or destroyed, it just transmits from phase to phase and from location to location... Time is how we measure these transmissions... One Should Never Dismiss Psychology During Diagnosis Of Any Universal Situation, Which Is Every Situation...js
