Both times when that lady speeds up on the sidewalk, you can see pedestrians jumping out of the way. However NOBODY walks up to her when she stops to let her know she just endangered their lives, and THAT is the main problem in Russia. Nobody gives a shit, and nobody holds anybody accountable. In fact, when the police arrives, instead of immediately taking action in a perfectly clear situation, they start ARGUING with the perpetrator. Not only arguing, but accepting being told what to do, and being yelled at! And then... the victims are told to come to the office to have their statement taken. Also totally ignoring the blatant sexist remarks by both the protester and the husband btw. Russia has got a LOT of catching up to do.

Why in Russia do they build sidewalks that are so easy to drive a car onto? A little bit of change in the architecture could easily fix this whole problem. Put up some barricades, for one example.
They said in an old episode that it’s because of the heavy traffic so that the emergency vehicles can get through.

I find it funny how people that park or drive on sidewalks feel that they have to lecture others and the POLICE on how to do things.
These stickers are for giving a lesson, to these drivers, that they cant seem to comprehend, on where they can and cant park a car at... She parked on the sidewalk and also she's not the only one who does that. What's written on the sticker, I've translated: "I spit on everybody (kind of like: I dont give a F**K on everybody) I park anywhere I want. It's sad to say, but also the goverment doesnt do anything about it either, to fix the problem with parking. In, USA this problem doesnt happen often. People still use the caution where they park cars and follow the rules. Unlike Russia, Russian people make up their own rules, and not much follow the laws even if they are there, also parking is limited, that's why this problem happens waay too often especially in the large city like Moscow.

The cases on someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone in police are usually just dragged on for 3+ years until eventually forgotten by everyone. Even getting a TV news report on this doesn't usually help either. Just creates a theatrical performance of "work being done" for a week or two until everyone calms down and the case reverts to its initial state. :)
