Making a Nice Knife from Trash materials only

I challenged myself with making the fanciest knife that I can , by using only scrap materials lying around my house. I forged the blade from old wagon wheel and piece of broken bearing and made the handle from piece of old board. I also tried some metal engraving on it. The end result is not perfect as usual , but I learned a lot.
Are you kidding me?!? That is amazing work! I love how the metal bits came out! Really, really cool! Just so cool what some talented people can make from 'junk.' 👍🏻
thank you friend , glad you like it :)
Quality work friend...👍. I would buy it..!!
I'm as a metallurgist usually quite critical about such a KZhead knife making but this time definitely thumbs up. Solid work and very nice knife design. This guy knows what is he doing.
Thank you , I'm glad to hear this. I try to be entertaining but not to go too far :)
Other than pourous steel, unstable & worst wood to use and off center edge geometry, sure it looks good. 😂😂😂😂
@@WhyamIstillwatchingyoutube Dude it is just cutting tool, there is no need to make atomic precise. I was critical before too for knife making, also quite obsessed with steel specification but I realize that is just a tool, no need to use perfect or super duper material. Because anybody use them for a life time except you are a butcher.
There’s nothing at all wrong with this lovely knife. Worst handle material? That would be duct tape. Which is probly what that troll would use.
@@WhyamIstillwatchingyoutube unstable and worst wood would be pine, even in that instance it would still fit in the context of the video, "making a nice knife from trash materials". the point of the video was using whatever he had lying around. heirloom quality knives from years past didn't have cruwear, magnacut, or k390, etc, they had blister steel then crucible/ cast steel. although the crucible/ cast steel process further refined the blister steel process, the carbon content of those blades varied greatly as the steel wasn't able to be totally homogenized on a chemical level like it is today. the steel used in the video is far better than anything they had back in those days, it is more than adequate, and the point is to show the barrier to entry in knife making isn't high. people like you will comment things like this, but i GUARANTEE you have never made a knife. keep on hating from your basement guy.
One of the few unique knives I’ve seen in long while
For being a completely upcycled project, or even for not, it's beautiful. It's not overly lavish, or bougie, but it's pretty and also useful. So many pretty knives arent functional as well so, well done.
Thank you , I try to make functional things and add a little bit of decoration :)
I couldn't agree more. I roll my eyes every time I see some knife that has very limited functionality. I prefer to be able to use it, not just show it off.
Hey, I collect knives. You ever want to make an EDC somewhat sexy looking EDC knife for me, that would be great @@RustLegion
Beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing the build with us.
Excellent work. A knife worthy of a king !
Hey you do awesome work! Here’s a pro tip. When sanding the handles, put duct tape on the back of the sandpaper. That’ll keep it from tearing.
thanks for the idea, I will try it
I love the ''hamon'' on the blade, gives it a distinct vibe. Props to you for making something out of nothing!!!
a traditional hamon is intentionally done with clay to keep the spine soft and the edge of the blade hard, makes for a tougher blade and results in a similar color variance. the variance in color in the video is from the 2 different types of steel used for the edge and the body of the knife. does look like a hamon though so i get the confusion lol
Dude! that thing is awesome! I love giving new life to what other's would consider trash! Great work! please keep making awesome things!
One of the most beautiful knives I have ever seen. Thank you!
glad you like it and thank you for the support :)
Nothing quite as fulfilling as giving something old a new life. Your work is incredible, i really enjoy it everytime one of your videos pops up
Thank you mate , I'm glad you enjoy it. It was always more dun for me to use old junk as materials :)
This is Absolutely Beautiful.... and a Really Practical knife as well. An Amazing piece of work!!
You do nice work.
Wow nice work--that came out magnificent!
The knife is magnificent but I also wanted to compliment your editing skills. I was glued to the screen for all 20 minutes. You do a great sense of pacing, when to insert humor, when to annotate with text. I’m guessing you spent as much time on the video as you did on the knife-and both are masterpieces.
Nicely done, the flower on your handle butt cap is the same flower I use on my makers mark for my knives. A dogwood flower.
Beautiful knife design! Love the Sanmai blade when etched being able to see the lamination line 👌🏻
Trash to heirloom. Absolute perfection sir.
Beautiful knife, and excellent video showing the process. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful work, and a sweet design. You certainly have an impressive array of skills at your disposal. It’s nice to see someone still doing hand engraving, in an era when it seems as though nearly everything has been computerized. Thank you! 🙏🏼
Awesome job with the limited resources available 👍
I really like how the handle turned out, I bet it feels nice in the hand 👍
thank you. It has a nice and secure grip indeed.
I really like the knife, the engraving was special.
Nice talented work! You’re blessed to facilitate a lot of individual trades. It was a pleasure watching & no monotonous monologue. 👍👍
Beauty knife 👍 You should put your name on it and sell / ship internationally.
Sold. I'd buy it with my hard earned money.... Subscribed.
I think this is some of your best work. Just keep loving the process...

Incredible. All from scrap and reasonable tools in a shop. Just amazing. I would make (I would buy a no-frills model) . No carving no engraving no stippling no ferric chloride on the handle no fancy butt plug. Forged polished steels and oak with tung oil wax either both. The reverse Hamon show the perfect blend of soft hard steel. Nice work all around. I buy super simple very sharp knives and I USE THEM ALL HARD
Wow very beautiful man! Congrats
Your a True artist.
Very nice!
Incredible as always. It's a pleasure watching you work!
thanks my friend
Very nice knife and great skills!
Excellent work you have found art where there was none only a true artist can do so. Subbed.
That's a mighty fine blade right there.
Every action and decision is very well thought out. I love the way you use scrap metal for every project. You're the guy I want to be my neighbor if we ever have an apocalypse and restart mankind again 😂
haha thank you , I make knives from brand new stock materials too , but using old junk was always more fun to me :)
Beautiful! Love the engraving. Gotta learn how to do that!
Wow! Beautiful work. Thanks for the video
Excellent job young man!
Thank you . glad you like it :)
Nice work Sometimes less is more 😊
A beautiful, stron, useful knife. I'm impressed!
I simply would not wear those crocs and do metalwork. I remember being in school in welding class. One of the molten drops splashed from the weld and into my shoe. It was very small but the pain taught me an unforgettable lesson.
Very good work! You have done it all right! Congratulations!
thanks :)
Like for forging, for three sheets of blade. Movie not only about making handle. Exellent.
Realmente haz hecho un trabajo increible! muchas felicidades!
Beautiful knife. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful!
BRAVO Master!!!
Perfecto, gran talento, hermosa pieza.
Very good craftsmanship.
Beautiful. Right up my street. I'd love to own that.
WoW maaan! You did great! This is the best forge I have ever seen! All of my family members (except of me women), said this was great! I cannot add nothing to that! I bet the neighbours were chatting about what grinder You will use - the real Claryx or the other one :D Cheers mate!
Turned out great. Was really cool to see your process too
Beautiful metal work on the blade. The finishing touches are out of this world, congrats. Keep the good work amigo, you are good. Greetings from Toronto.

That's my favorite knife! So cool.
Not a bad looking knife. not too fancy not too plane. Well done.
Magnifique ce couteau ! Bravo !!
Merci beaucoup :)
Very nice blade! I like the attention to detail with the engraving and the neat idea of plugging the pommel. Overall a knife that anyone could be proud to own.
Glad you like it and thank you for leaving such a nice comment :)
I would love to see you make a felling axe or camp axe from some cool materials or canister damascus
Gorgeous! I think it’s beautiful.
thanks you :)
Nice work. Great looking knife.
Nice work 👏
Bellísima y fina pieza!👏👏👏 felicitaciones

It's so beautiful, I wish I was this artist too.
You make art, congratulations.
Oh wow looks great!!
Absolutely amazing! Youre super talented. Great job
Thank you :)
superb as always! great work
Everything is beautiful. the knife. Metal. the wood. Engraving on wood and metal. Everything is great. But the black color on the wood is not beautiful. I was hoping for a dark navy blue color or a dark reddish brown color.
Una verdadera obra de arte hermoso cuchillo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Krásná práce.👍👏👏👏🇨🇿
Great work and result ! I enjoyed and learned. Juste to know, an Idea for the Price ? Really thanks !
