Boss fight of Eviterno, First of the Penitents, and Last Desecrator from Blasphemous 2 without taking damage, no prayers, and no upgraded weapons (memories). This fight is hard, it has the same difficulty as Crisanta, and you need to parry and dodge a lot.

ironic how the hardest boss in the game is the only one with unskippable dialogue, the devs really wanted you to rethink your life decisions
yup. Took me about 20 damn attempts. I was getting pretty annoyed at the dialogue I must say. Great boss though other than that!
@@Terron29 but he was the first Penitent and was trying to make sure you were the last.
@@Terron29Did you resort to just using the slide move with the double sword? I am at attempt 50 and really don't want to beat him cheese style...but that unskippable intro is wearing my nerves thin.
@@pbabiesinspace6112 no actually i used the big mace only with lots of that green plasma projectile spell that locks onto him. i did mostly jump attacks. I also used that big spell where you have this ghost follow you around as an extra dps help. Still tough but i got him down.
@@pbabiesinspace6112I beat him with veredicto and make sure you use the statue combination that allows you to freeze time when you heal with flasks.
You know a boss fight will be epic when the boss itself take a longsword/zweihander and assume the iconic Artorias/Guts pose
They've said the first game was inspired by DS1. So it's no surprise they'd drop a reference.
Only Guts looks cool with that pose
@@hoshigamesofficialand both Artorias and Eviterno are more than worthy to hereditate it
4:22 that sequence is ABSOLUTELY POETIC. Love how all the memories of Eviterno's underlings came in for a last desperate move. This single sequence is the greatest moment in Blasphemous for me.
ARCHICOFRADÍA
@@drfeelgood3846 same
I cant' imagine something else than Weil summoning the Eight Judges' souls in Zero 4's ending, coincidentally, Eviterno looks like Weil with his broken helmet.
Honestly that was the moment I personally wanted to throttle the devs. "Hey I know this was already a nightmare and a total endurance test of phase after phase against an enemy that would make the super bosses in most other games weep but here's a brief intermission so you we can fuck you up using all the previous boss's most annoying moves in sequence."
@@jacobloat8204 so true lmaoooo
They need a boss rush so I can experience this again without making a new file
Maybe we've played II too early
They added a boss rush mode in 1. They'll definitely add one in 2.
I’d prefer that but also just a selection menu were you can just choose to refight any one particular boss
4:24 One of those wow moments in blasphemous history.................
Yeah, wow, what a worthless boss and stupid decision by the high developers.
@@johnnymetonymicmad cuz bad
@outlastingflame1614 teleporting is bad and lazy design.
@@johnnymetonymicIt is the most dynamic way of movement for a boss
That Archicofradia! move is such a nice surprise the first time you fight him
When Eviretno pulls Crisanta's sword he says her line "my penance is far over" and the music composition is starts using Crisanta's theme motive. It's beautifull.
Player: good, i finally can win Eviterno: Archicofradía?😈
That's one of his easier moves though. Leaves him wide open
not when you deal with it for the first time, that thing caught me off guard with the first third and final attack@@N_Tertainment7
I noticed that it’s the only music in the entire game that has blasphemous 1 notes, it’s “su beso plata” but with missing notes, signifying chisantra death.
Insane fight, very well done
Very impresive ! GG man ! Insane..it was such a pleaseure to watch this
It's been over a month now since I tried to kill this boss and now I come across this great video
second phase is masterpiece
Very impressive! What is even more impressive is that you had the patience to sit through the cutscenes and first part of the fight for however many times it took you to master it. I'm not being sarcastic here, I wasn't able to do it even though I loved the fight itself and the game as a whole.
yeah this game realy could use some quality of life improvements such as let us skip these cutscenes. I had same complaint for the first game... just wastes time
i like the cutscenes, it gives me time to crack my knuckles before each attempt @@Sandboxcode
@@TheKingOfClowns thats a great winning attitude. Salties like myself just get tilted though :D
Lowkey I think he cheated he completes three hits preemptively knowing which moves sequence is about to start and doesn't for the other ones. The safe bet would just be to two hit and then wait to react since the buffer system is terrible in this game but he somehow doesn't but always manage to only two hit when he needs to dodge. It looks shady...
Such a challenging and enjoyable boss fight. The best in Blasphemous 2. Reminds me of the Pure Vessel fight in difficulty from Hollow Knight.
Level 12 dream Zote is still the hardest metroidvania boss ever.
What a waltz!! Such grace a precision!
Just use the time prayer. Hit him till the fervor is enough and use it again. It literally makes the entire fight in both forms AND the last fight so they literally cannot move. If you’re having trouble.
What's the fun in that?
@@RianQuenlin it isn’t. Some people need it though
@@greenblackswerl Do you need the flail to do it? Or is it possible with all weapons? Asking bc someone in another comment section mentioned this but he said he used the flail's down attack infinite to build up the fervour.
That op ability shouldnt even be in the game. I eye rolled when i saw how effective it was. Way too much.
@@Terron29 I agree 100%
Great job
Crack!!!!, I just finished my run it was nuts as hell
with the constant perfect dodges in th oval of hell. and blocks on his close range attacks, you didn't just jump away to make it easy you showed intense SKILL!!! This epic song is built for your no hit victory
Woo-hooo!!!! A true Ace!
Very impressive, well played.
Penitent One praying for Crisanta tho ;(
6:17 Penitent one looks soo cool in that scene
I decided to be a little punk and stick to the corner. That way he cant teleport behind me.
I really do not like the second phase of this guy 🙀. Very well fought, your skills are impressive, Penitent One
He kinda reminds me of gehrman and godfrey
Did anyone noticed that his blade has no upgrades?
The un-skippable dialogue is killing me more than the 2nd phase. Not sure how many more tries I have in me...
Watching those parry’s is so delicious
Looks like he’s in slow motion here..He’s all over place for me I can hardly move without getting hit repeatedly..
There's a lot of commit in the game, if you're getting knocked around like a pinball and parrying his attacks, you don't get a single chance to act, making him seem far more overwhelming than he actually is.
@@RianQuenlinthat's true. Parrying only makes things worse. It's best to just keep dodging until you can find an opening.
his first phase is very predictable, you need to understand his 3 or 4 combos and how the boss connects them. once i understood that his attacks are actually quite limited, i went from dying within the first 15 seconds to getting him to 30% health.
@@Reinrosannir parrying the teleport attack works pretty well, though
@@Doublejhohonestly parrying is the only way I found the first half of the second phase even remotely doable. He just gets stuck in a loop of his 3 easy to manage attacks. It's the second half of his second phase where things become a mess
Best boss in the game hands down
And frustrating. Second phase is a pain in the ass. I kept sliding thru and finally beat him. Jumping did me no justice. Can’t hit him more than once or twice without getting punished
Trash compared to the old blasphemous
@@gporr7004use the saber or rapiers. The mace makes the fight very boring
@@bigsmall2842 try it next time. Already beat him with the mace. Ty
If only his dialogue and phase two cutscene were skippable
5:56 On the one hand, it is poetic that the penitent kills Eviterno with the sword of his 'friend' On the other hand, it is a smart way to avoid having to create several animations for the 3 weapons
my favorite bosses from both games would have to be crisanta and eviterno bc of how many times to you have to die to even catch a glimpse of their second phase
Compared to Eviterno, Crisanta's phase 1 is harder. She adds things to her phase 2, that make it a harder version of phase 1. Eviterno completely switches his moves
Most impressive
This is so impressive. I'm currently on my 25th attempt and get murdered by his halfway point with all spells/vials lol
I had no idea you could knock that green orb back at him.
how do you get the damage you do shown? is there an option to do so? or is it a mod?
in the game options
the real blasphemy is playing with English dub
The weaboos whining about dubs all over again. But now they're catholic
Totaly agree😊
I always refer people struggling with bosses to your videos. Since you own them all taking no dmg / no prayers making them the ultimate tutorials LOL
this is the real boss fight
Oh I see what I was doing wrong now, I kept jumping. It's kind of annoying that the last few bosses were easy and then suddenly there is this guy!
Wait, you're supposed to hit the green orb for him to get stunned???
What resistances should I have on for this boss?
Mythical resistance probably.
All gansta until Eviterno says Archicinfradìa
I don't know if that's a very easy game but holy crap that bastard was a pain in the ass, goddamnit
Damn.
The best boss fight I have seen and experienced in recent years. Just ended his penance today and it felt like an achievement.
Try watching Skull the hero slayer's final boss especially the latest update of the game. Some Eviterno movement are similar to Skull's final boss. My opinion that boss is one the best final boss in 2D action.
This duel against Eviterno is really the true Miracle. Well done.
why eviterno doesn'n opened crimson sword to purple form like crisanta?
Ngl hope they never nerf this boss cuz he cant be cheesed. Beating him w Sarmiento and oh boi dude has irregular combos
It was at this point i gave up, would have used a trainer if i had it on pc
Took me around 12 tries to finally beat this guy. Idk wtf soulsborne fans are talking about when they say how great it feels to finally beat a tough boss whos been giving you so much trouble. Game would've been more enjoyable had i beat this guy in the first few tries rather than the 12th.
I don't know how y'all are struggling this bad, I beat him in 3 tries, just slide, It hard counters almost all his moves, every move has a specific way to dodge it, but they can all be dodged rather easily. beating a hard boss gives a sense of satisfaction like no other
Agree'd. Taking a break from souls games after this one lol. This could have been an amazing boss if you could skip the long winded dialogue. just hearing it over & over & over drives me nuts alone
I find it so odd hearing these games in English, then again I began playing the 1st when Spanish was the only option.
Spanish Artorias
Literally
This boss is making me wanna stop playing the game. Hopefully this video will make me want to keep trying
Looking at all the other comments, am I the only person who, even on my 7th or so attempt, still loved the dramatic one-liner when he transitions to phase 2? Like fr, his lines during the entire fight hit seriously hard.
Honestly i despise that this boss requires you to replay first phase every time you do the fight. Its easy as hell but adds like 2-3 minutes to each encounter. If i'm at best surviving like 10-15 seconds on the second phase because i cant read the enemy attacks at all, adding this arbitrary time waster just to get another 10-15 seconds to try to see whats even happening on screen is incredibly annoying. Like phase 1 on its own is a fun lil warmup and phase 2 on its own is a great intense encounter with a lot to learn that tests your knowledge of the game. One after the other however really just feels like kicking me when I'm down. Too much time between phase 2 fights for real pattern recognition to kick in
Dropped the game because of this guy. And here I am. Dropped it again fo the next month I guess. Unskipable dialogue just make it worse. Other bosses was like twice easier.
The only decent fight in B2
This in Spanish is far more epic
After Pontiff from DS3 I gave an obeth: not to suffer any more. So just use R2 + square for Sarmiento and Centella without any stop, just feeling the rhythm and you will win without learning all those algorithms. Eviterno is not hard, just annoying because of 2 parts and his speed. But here is the solution.
What an insanely idiotic decision process with this entire boss fight. They must have phoned this one in to their foreign VA's to do completely. What a stupid way for them to make everyone hate their worthless game.
I actually stopped playing this game because of this boss. It's so irritating
In the name of god, whose was the AWFUL idea to give this boss that useless phase 1 and two unskippable dialogues? I really like to fight him but that unnerving part is making me think of dropping the game
