Yes you read that correctly. No, it's not a typo. Now there's 8 chicks. The egg guesstimate was between 6 and 8 and 8 it is!
Click on the blue numbers to go to the spot in the video when you can hit pause and count all 8 little mouths. 5:18
It's now highly unlikely that there are any more eggs to hatch so keep your fingers crossed that the parents look out for the new arrival because it's tiny compared to the chicks that arrived only 48 hours ago. It's amazing how quickly they grow!
You can see just how tiny at the very start of the video as the female unceremoniously dumps the newborn out of the remaining half of the shell. To be fair she's done this to all of the chicks and so far so good!!
More tomorrow...
The dad looks as if he's counting them..😃
This is fabulous to watch. Thank you. Would you have a picture outside to see the shape of the box as this is a great camera angle.

It’s al just beaks and necks when they’re growing!
Beautiful!
Can anyone explain what happened to all of the dead little siblings that didn’t make it to the end? I’m just very curious
The parents most likely removed them from the nest
they removed all but one, you can see something censored in the bottom right corner in the more recent videos
Wow I watch it from 5 chicks to final 2 chicks, so in the beginning it's 8 chicks actually, that makes it 25% survival then.
Thanks for ruining the ending 😒
@@kconway96 how can it ruined? It's what the video shows us
Now take away the man made wooden birdhouse….. survival drops 😔
@@brokennotdead6739 good point
You can see the one tiny one not get fed multiple times
Why does one of the birds have such a strange head, were they injured or something? The feathers on it. I thought the bird was wet but its in every vid :c
It's the male one, idk what this particular species does in regards to territory or mating but i don't think it's uncommon for males to have scars/injuries from fighting Or maybe his head feathers are just scrappy idk
For a small bird they multiply like starlings. Do all birds in the UK have so many chicks?
Damn From 8 to 2... as i said in another comment thankfully the birds nested in our shed only laid 4 and they all survived thankfully :)
thanks for video compilation!!! very convenient to watch
but you commented it right now xD and yes theres truely no word
Que fofurice 🙂❤️
good lord! ....8 chicks.....no comment
Are those large pieces of food a choking hazard?
I wonder what that little chirp means when the adults are feeding The chicks?
