  • Hey artists... take note of this unbelievably talented, multi-award winning human sitting here telling you he almost quit and had absolutely nothing. We got this. Keep going.

  • This interview has me weeping and I'll tell you why: I'm an artist. I'm a painter, specifically... But I also draw. I've struggled and stumbled through my career for over a decade now up to this point.... And this past year and a half has been "well, is this the month, is this the year... That I put up the paintbrushes? Is..... That it? Everything's dried up...." And I have dealt with one of the worst depressions of my life in this period. Then Baldur's Gate 3 came along (I started playing recently... Around December 2023). Hadn't really heard about it for some time given that I had so much other life stuff to deal with... and with it came Astarion and Neil and all the wonderful cast. I started drawing more... And drawing for the fun of it and focusing on that because I found the game to be so inspiring..... Which has helped me restore my hope and my belief in myself. To hear his story of struggle and to know how bad that is to live through.... And then to see the other side of that. It's inspiring. Deeply inspiring. Thank you for this interview. It arrived at the perfect day and the perfect time for me. ❤

  • I so agree with the fact, that you have to burn for your job, that you don't only want it to do, but you need it to do. I'm no actor nor artist, but I also struggled at the beginning of being a pharmacist. I was so shy and nervous when I had to talk to my costumers. I had to change my workspace some times because my bosses don't believe, I was on the right place being a pharmacist at a public pharmacy. But it really feels right for me, I desperadly "need" it with all of my heart. So I worked hard on myself, overcome my shyness and being selfconfident and I'm proud now, that I'm (hopefully) a good pharmacist whom customers trust because of their knowledge and open nature.

  • omg i like it sooo much that he is honest about his struggles, ups und downs in his life, considering that we live in the world where you have to show others your success and prosperity and that everything is always fine and stuff... 39:26 is such a good thought. People need that. People need to be more sincere + stop pretending and wearing "fake masks" bc creating an illusion of success only makes us miserable

  • After a life long block from driven process, and pursuit, of trying to do Everything in Theater school, I attempted and more. It's truly a Gratifying thing, to know Neil N Exist's Beautiful, and so free of Spirit and, truly Survival revival. Is so wonderful to know at least some of us, can find the golden ray, and become ever humbled, genuine, and so Dear. I adore this man, because he literally is the reason to feel good about failing, but never giving up, or in. Thank you, for this interview of a real person in the industry. He is intoxicating. He is so amazing for so many worldly Love. His sense of Direction, Dedication, and just completely a breath, of the child that still lives within us. And why it's so important to just make everything you dream of doing, and if you are to the point of giving up, that you see people like Neil who doesn't live by titles. He just cares about the Verse, and beyond it. He doesn't rely on others perspective, and doesn't care to remain in one thing. He loves everything, and enjoys everything, we can take for granted, because**it happens and we never know enough. But we have people who are so honest about the things we expect and don't see, or get to ever do. We just need to be true to ourselves. No matter what happens, it's important to shed the skin, people put us in more. And try to be true to ones self, first. Second care about other's. Because it's not about getting rich and instead enrichment in what you do have. Because Neil is right. He's been there, but he didn't give up. I am not a hypocrite, I been thru so much, too, but I am still here, and I always just wanted to make my world better. And I just wish I could have accomplished at least one thing right. But luck is suggestive. We all have to go thru the rungs. He used a lot of my words. And I love him more for things that I thought, and I continued playing, making people smile, thru pain of death, it's just responding to something you have no control over. But no matter what, not to give up, on anything, even if people tell you, you are not worth life. Which is what people just do. Sadly I just say people are people And we're our own worst critics when others haven't any idea how far your body has made it, so they themselves can only see surface they get angry because they just assume and you have to giggle it off, because you are alone, when you feel no matter what people can't, be enough for them, or someone you have no idea what they have gone thru... Sadly it's a vicious cycle that never stopped, as years pass, I only know I'm here, and I got to love the person I became. I never cared what people think about me, or thought. I love my Dog. She just accepts the spirit I have always been. Watching the joy of Neil, everything he has survived and done, and whatever he does.Godds bless him. I will go on, despite whatever anyone can't see in me. It's not about you, it's not about me, it's about others, and I have tried to make friends with someone, but they are not important no one is perfect. And that isn't important. But I just wanted our world to be respected, and open minded, and good to one another. But that's what we should believe in. And we shouldn't swallow down doubt. We just need to believe in our dreams. Never give in, or up. So I will end there, because I appreciate Neil and personalities like him. Remember Acting, isn't about you center stage, it's about you finding yourself... Then building blocks of who you play, wether it be a small lady bug, or a Humongous being, with a small attitude. If you go to a Theater work shop, Even stock theater, just continue with the attitude that you're in theater, for what? Hopefully like any schooling, you just absorb as much as you can, and then later continue to do so, no matter what happens. Best self to learn not to be yourself, but use what you love, to just create something you feel, and see. Simply remain raw, and open. I was bullied my first night of auditions, due to the fact I was smaller then others. To others, that's all they saw, but I didn't see them as small, I saw them as people who just, don't get me, and need to take it out on you, to make themselves heal. I don't try to hit the bees nest, I try to understand it. It's easy to fall, and feel more pain from what some idiot's decision, and action, to make you feel less, then you are, it just makes them look smaller, and sadly that's how they see themselves. My mom has always uses defense mechanisms, against me. She's paranoid and people enable her, because they have only assumed things, but I have tried to stand in front of her, when I was a lil seven year young girl, my X vet Dad with PTSD attacked his family. I stood in front of my Mom, at seven, and tried to keep my Dad from pummeling the shit out of my weak mom. I really thought no matter what, this is what daughter's do. I didn't know, family love, or whatever that was, I treated the brutality like what was, my normal. When I met other kids, and their families, I could compare, but I had no comparison really. In grade school I wanted friends but I was literally shoved into a nail on the playground. But nothing touched the numbness more then my Mom, who turns on me, hates me, and told me later on in life, but her negative neglect torwards the trouble child, come home with the school nurse, I own mother left me on the door step light blue jacked covered in dried blood, she looked down at me, got mad, said you ruined it, get in here. I never understood what I did wrong, but that my own blood ruined the jacket, I was still wearing. And just standing stupid, waiting for her to comfort me... Later I found out, that my parents never took me rushed to a hospital, because the blood had stopped. And that the nail should be forgotten. Just like the school had. And that as a lil kid to survive a nail driven under the skull, is nothing to worry about. And your mom treating your survival over such a strange and numbing occurrence early in life, was nothing to be concerned over. Later people kept telling me Be good to your Mother. But they would never understand... Why we fought in public, there's no good to be had, when your mom loves the sympathy of others, and like a self satisfied person, she relished others intervening. But never realized swallowing your lies, is justification of an inflated ego, And she plays the victim, when shes a relentless bullying Victimizer. She wants people to cater to her whims, and selfish wants, she's a spoiled child, who should never have had kids. And she values things over feelings, and thought for others. I was shocked by the stupidity of all of it. I tried to free myself many times. Discovered gaming, at a young age, I enjoyed a new kind of story telling, and loved everything that came out. Cartoon worlds I could appreciate, and be a part of the hero, fighting the villains. Playing Res Ev. Among other Vid games, having fun emercing my mind with puzzel challenges, boss fights, you relly had to think thru, to gain achievements. Feeling as tho I finally am good at something. The elation of making it to the next level in Mario Brother's. Or defeating, the worldly menaces. Was a feeling of accomplishment not too many, had given me. BG3 Became a new obsession for me. I loved the story, the characters just resonate for me. Especially the black sheep Astarion, and Karlach. Astarion is a elfin man child trapped and afraid, he tries to hide his true self deep within, tho his hunger isn't just blood it's a zest for living, and continually trying to escape what came before, so that he can, despite the tadpole's influences over him, and the other Characters he shares a story with. As well as sweet Karlach. ❤️‍🩹🗡️🗡️ 🩸

  • Excellent interview and insight, very thoughtful. Thank you! Failures really do teach the most in life. Social pressures in particular try to push everyone into the same sort of box (must do this, must do that), people are terrified of making mistakes! But over time it's the people who stand their ground and have a better idea of what they're all about that tend to blossom. So happy to see it.

When he speaks about things I sometimes start viewing things from another perspective and his streams cheer me up when I’m down because they are entertaining and fun “a comedy show” as he likes to say. But I don’t know if by what he meant is that he doesn’t want people thinking of him as a Neil but rather the work that he’s done???
