Driver Crashes Into Light Pole After PIT Maneuver by Wisconsin Police
Authorities say dashcam footage shows a driver crashing their vehicle into a light pole after Wisconsin police officers used a PIT maneuver during a pursuit on August 29. The Glendale Police Department said the vehicle was part of a home invasion investigation where it was allegedly stolen during an armed robbery in Milwaukee. Officers arrested four suspects inside the vehicle, two women, 35 and 18, and two teenage boys, 16 and 14.

Dont back seat police. When you realize you have to pay taxes for the damage that get's done to those cruisers, and how that affects their ability to do their job while repairs take place, you will probably have a bit more respect for them exercising restraint like that. Not to mention, the cruiser we are watching from doesn't have a pit bar like the units it let pass to do the pit. once again, dont back seat police. Especially if you havent done anything they are doing.

Actually witnessed this in person. Was walking back to my car from wingstop. I am surprised they let him go for so long considering the amount of traffic there was. It was during rush hour and on one of the busiest roads in the area.

The goal was to wait until the nut did over $20,000 worth of damage or killed someone before stopping the vehicle with any kind of logic or force. FFS - who taught these people how to stop a car?
I think they were waiting until the car was out of heavily populated areas.
If I'm not mistaking patrol officers need permission to attempt a PIT maneuver by someone higher up the chain. Then again I could be wrong. If I am wrong this pursuit could've been ended easily at 1:25.

The only thing missing was the Benny Hill music. What an embarrassing effort to stop such a reckless and dangerous criminal. I was expecting this to be followed by an unsuccessful, 20-minute foot chase.
Some of you need to remember - NOT all officers on a police force are pit trained. That is why the lead patrol car allowed the other car to take lead, they were pit trained. You can sit here and criticize all you want, but I don't see any of you stepping up to do this freaking job. Until then PIPE THE FK DOWN! They got him stopped without any injury to the public.

I am appalled that police lets these chases go on for so long. As soon as it’s clear that a car is running, they should PIT quickly and decisively. Damage to the cruiser is the best outcome considering the risks to the public. I will never understand this.
That's because you've never been sued multiple times and most of the times people would just get mad and everyone would be on the news. Just out of curiosity, what's the level you'd find appropriate to stop these fast? Stage a cop in front, then just open fire on the driver when they pass? Seems less risky for others than a pit on a public road.

The officer with the dashcam did not want to scratch his cruiser, he even honked at the guy 1:25 when he cut him off.

The amount of missed opportunities to pit goes to show the department needs some more training. I counted at least 5 with clear traffic and the officer didn’t take his shot he veered away, not to mention the park fiasco…
Looks like that department didn't train and certify and equip the right officer for PIT maneuvers. All these other bumbling idiots have the reinforced front ends and couldn't pit open a box of cereal, while the camera unit followed at kept up at every turn and was available for PITting this guy 4 times.

I don't think that his was about watching a car "crash" though, but about seeing how amazingly inept the police seemed to be. So I guess that would be the equivalent of watching all the mistakes that were made leading up to a train wreck. And yes, that is interesting to watch.

At the end of a chase like this, you just gotta fill the entire inner space of the car with bullets and haul the entire thing off to the land fill. After you do enough of these, further incidents will decline precipitously.
