All Quiet on the Western Front: By the Numbers
/ @netflixbehindthestreams
When 17-year-old Paul joins the Western Front in World War I, his initial excitement is soon shattered by the grim reality of life in the trenches.
This was a great film. One of 2022’s best.
It missed the point of the book and original film, though.
@@AveTrueToCaesar8212what did it miss?
@LIsForLexi. Paul was supposed to die a meaningless death and not really supposed to save the ginger kid at the end, it's better if you read Remaque's book to fully understand, it misses out some of the key hardships and isn't including some of the more brutal situations from the book however it has a really good take on some of the scenes and overall it's an amazing movie and one of my favourites of all time
It is. I just wished that they made it accurate to tactics and the fact that there was barely any hand to hand combat
It was fine, only fine, horrible villian character in the general but fine, if the title was different. This is not all quiet on the western front and basically laughs at historical accuracy.
This was a great movie. The music. The sound effects. The German language. The landscape. The colors. The ambiance. The amazing, incredible actors, especially Felix Kammerer, the main actor. He made this film so inmersive & so believable. His facial expressions & body language was the honest I've seen in a long time. He was perfectly casted.
I need to watch this. I remember reading it when I was younger
It is a wonderful movie on its own, one of my favorite actually, but it does stray a lot from the original book, so just be conscious of that as you watch.
The 1980s one is better, and the stereotypical evil german general at the end makes no damn sense/ a very obvious Hollywood drama character. Ir doesn’t focus on Paul as it should and strays way to damn far from the book. But it’s a good action movie
@@rismarck good to know. I'm still waiting to see it
Watch the 1930 version, it is so much better and actually largely sticks to the book.
Both the 1930 and 1979 releases are far better and more book accurate than the 2022 film.
Amazing movie truly shows the horror soldiers have to face in war. Also the ending made me so sad 😢
Yea, the bit where Paul reaches out towards a butterfly and gets shot by a sniper...oh wait.
@@katrinapaton5283whoops, wrong version
I thought the character will have more of a 1917 ending but damn he tried
You have produced a masterpiece ❤
One of the rare artistically beautiful and visceral captivating movies I have watched. It makes you hate war, when it has everything you ever wanted from a war film.
It was nice to see something different for once. Many movies these days it feels are superhero movies.
I haven’t finished it yet but it’s so touching. They didn’t hold back on anything, even the gore they didn’t hold back on. It shows the true horrors of war and I love that about it.
While I dont like how much the film changed the original story, this was still an amazingly haunting movie.
Well the message of the story wasn’t changed
Just from visuals alone, it’s kind of the Requiem for a Dream of people who want to go to war, or don’t think about it negatively. Just like RfaD slaps you hard with the realities and indignities of drug addiction, this film shows you what war really is like.
@@thejunglecommando sure but it wasnt conveyed as well. Movie left out and changed some of the most meaningful parts of the book
And the ending was...memorable
I watched the movie 4 times excellent
Vintage eurioean chick sucking cocks.. Sonething
Gonna rewatch
How could you watch it 4 times THIS SHIT IS SO SAD
@@martinacallaghan1212ikr
Lol you're just mad this movie does not glorify war lol @@martinacallaghan1212
It’s such a good movie
Phenomenal, but am I the only one who thought the sound track didn’t fit with the film at all? 😂
@@Venom-xd9stit actually does, it’s a very industrial sounding soundtrack which portrays the way the war was fought (people were fed in like into a machine and it was a modern war with tanks). It’s also not trying to be heroic or anything since that would miss the point of the movie
thats the best WW1 movie ever
True

salute to the director of this movie
Wait, you guys recreated this movie? I have to watch this, I already know it’s going to be a masterpiece
The shots in this movie were so beautiful 10/10 would recommend

Netflix created a masterpiece.
Holy cow you guys actually made a WW1 battlefield
The music makes me laugh for some reason
9 Oscar Nominations. 4 Oscar Wins.
One of the only great movies Netflix has produced
There’s a lot of great Netflix movies
He said Paul :I mourn my friend sir Sir : I'm lamenting that my mother fcking sh*t, quickly secure the rifle
The poor guy with glasses😢
Music? Please
Volker belterman remains, or something Like that.
20 uniforms that was wasted because of the mud
Netflix has a KZhead account? Lol
Hey Netflix do you know if all quiet on the western front was filmed in France where most of the battles actually happened?
This movie affected me dearly the ending is tragic. Was washing with my now ex-gf and she didn’t really care
Music is super creepy!
The actor in this looks like the author Erich Maria Remarque. Unfortunately people have said the movie is not like the book. Visually it looks amazing but Im not subbing to a streaming company for one movie. 😢 Hopefully it comes out on dvd and blueray.
Nice
Personally, I like the 1930s and the 1979 film a lot more. You get more of a feel for the characters. You actually learn more about them. This movie is a good movie, but I feel like it's very rushed at times.
Why wasn't Felix Kämmerer nominated for an Oscar?? 😕 I think he was really amazing in this movie and it wouldn't have been the same without him! Anyways who believe in orcars this days
20 lbs of gear is actually not that much. They apparently managed to do really light replicas
No its 20 uniform worn and 33 lbs of gear
33 lbs, and it’s not much, until you have to run around with it for 10 hours daily, then it starts getting heavy.
1 year old today
I’m guessing this takes place at verdun
No
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Damn
Best war movie ever, on par with 1917
can we stick to one measurement system in promo
Lmao the meter and kg are superior
i think there are 1.3 costumes to a uniform
What did they do witch the wasyeland and trenches after filming like can i just go there and see it in person
That’s what I was wondering! I wanna know if that’s the real western front.
You can.
@@ArkayaStudios where is it tho ?
20? Usually they just had one
For different scenes.
the film worth 1,7M dollars
😢
Wait what 20?
They had 20 different uniforms for different scenes, for example when he conscripted and arrived to the front, he wore a clean uniform, in combat he had a dirty uniform and then in the ending scene, a bloody uniform.
babylon score was better. never forget that 🤣🤣
I've never watched babylon but I agree
The movie was good I liked it. But the no recoil half the movie was unrealistic
It was highly realistic

no lmao
Maybe the 1930 movie was good but this? This isnt All Quiet on the Western Front.
@@katrinapaton5283 the 1930 version told as a full story form the book but the new movie tell us the horror of war
@@face_ I always thought the book did an excellent job of describing the horrors of war. Theres a reason it is so famous after all. To each their own though.
@@katrinapaton5283Thats not all quiet on the western front but it is an incredible film
Why the all quiet western front German uniforms is looking like Austria Hungary uniform??? And Germans have a smiliar Austria Hungary uniform like their bag 👀 I think they’re Austria Hungarian soldiers
Yes, they are
At that moment, Austria-hungria and german were united
They're German.
All that and then using a rightly famous title for their movie which is so far off the original book they really should say, at best, inspired by All Quiet on the Western Front. Or, better yet, come up with a new name for it. Might be a great movie, I wouldnt know I have no interest in it and have no intention to watch it, but its not what it claims to be.
Good movie but the ending was trash
How? That's how stuff happened in the war. Many people died seconds before the armistice was declared
The worst all quiet
so basically they made a ww1 scene bye reanacting ww1 by building the most acurate shit to be seen yet
Столько жертв молодых парней чтобы германия подписала акт ! Кайзер был прав ,нельзя отдавать силу ,страху !!!
