The Weeknd - Faith | Vevo Official Live Performance
The Weeknd's 'After Hours' is one of those albums that paints vivid pictures. Abel Tesfaye's music has a dark radiance that's both dreamy and eerie, and the record's videos flaunt their sensuality with a macabre grace. So we were thrilled to work with the singer and their team on three exclusive performances from the 'After Hours' song list. "Alone Again" and "In Your Eyes" are live, and now "Faith" joins them. Time to get inside The Weeknd's mind.
Alone Again performance: • The Weeknd - Alone Aga...
In Your Eyes performance: • The Weeknd - In Your E...

  • abel is probably is the only artist in the industry that released an artistically compelling album this year, paired with a cinematic narrative and a consistent concept throughout every single one of his live performances. his record 'blinding lights' surpassed 1 BILLION streams back in june, making it the most-streamed song in the world. 'in your eyes' is a track with a synthpop/post-disco flair that is noted to be a stand-out track from the whole album - the saxophone solo was the most satisfying thing i'd heard and i wish i could go listen to the track (hell, even the whole album) again. every single track was amazing - faith, alone again, snowchild, scared to live, save your tears, after hours (MY FAVOURITE!). 'after hours' was given a professional rating of 80/100, based on 20 reviews. it was definitely 'album of the year' in the eyes of critics' as well. my point is that this year, no artist reinvented themselves the way abel did. few artists evolved but no one is close to this man. he left his fans hooked for more and he GAVE more. he worked so hard and i've got this emptiest feeling after hearing those wretched grammy noms. he really deserved recognition from them for his success and self-reflection this year. in conclusion, fuck the grammys.

It was almost as if I was in Abel's position experiencing his pain, sorrow, emptiness, withdrawals etc. Not to mention the outro of faith it touch right into my heart ❤️ Say it or not we ask know Abel if the KING 👑 and no fucking shit award show that favours only some need to prove who he is. Abel is over it all.

    • The lyrics are insane, the beat is awesome, his voice flowing through it... Faith is by far the best song in After Hours. But it's not for everyone, so it'll likely be one of the most underrated songs in the album, along with Nothing Compares and Escape From LA (my personal favorites). However, it's not the best song of 2020. Physical, The Box, Blinding Lights and Dynamite are more competent for that tittle.

Im really big into 80s sounds and smoking pot. Ive been writing a story album called Inside the Mind of Peter White which has to do with teen suicide and depression. I dropped a few singles for this album, and I would love for fellow fans of both artists to give me a listen and help support a local R&B artist trying to keep music different and weird! All serious criticism is appreciated!

  • Abel deserves the world. He have outdone what other artists could ever imagine even considering in the middle of a global pandemics. His commitment towards profession and staying consistently throughout a whole year is something that everyone should appreciate. Single-handedly he saved my qurantine and others through music. Entertaining audience through talent speaks for himself. I hope he realises how much of a great artist he is. He truly is worth much more than award shows. A true and realistic artist of our generation.XOTWOD

  • It is so rare nowadays for artists to provide such a deep-rooted musical experience. There is a remarkable level of passion, honesty, and love for music in The Weeknd. This deserves a sincere and grand appreciation. Apparently, a few "experts" have chosen to ignore this. After Hours is not just a music album, it is a movie of a broken man who is being as honest as anyone.

  • No one deserved a Grammy more than this man! That’s no disrespect to any of the artists who won but come on! Vocally no artist is touching him, one of the highest selling albums of the year, for sure the best album of the year, the live performances are amazing, every video he’s put out is basically a movie that is based all around his persona (or real life self which he blurs the lines between the two very well) and they are incredible and dark, he’s marketed this album and socialized with his fans so damn much just to get robbed of even a nomination! I mean what do I expect, it's the Grammys and they have their select artists they love to push for various selfish reasons rather than awarding artists based on how good the music is. You’re telling me Yummy by Justin Bieber deserves 4 nominations over After Hours?😂😂 stop it.

  • This performance hits the JACKPOT!! The camera angles, the perfect lighting changes in the right places, the set that portrays the shifting ambiance of the song so well... And of course, the incredible, charismatic performance of Abel with his highly talented and versatile voice that conveys his emotions and creations so outstandingly. This album is a masterpiece without a doubt. 2020 was nothing without it.

  • abel, you do not need a grammys. awards are to show how much your fans appreciate you - let me tell you that we appreciate you and after hours an incredible amount. after hours is a truly amazing album lyrically + vocally. i think i speak for a lot of people when i say that after hours brought us down to an emotional level. we appreciate you being open with your fans on your album. we appreciate the cinematic experience you continue to give us. we appreciate the effort, time, and emotion you put into the album. we love you with or without a grammy.

    • Awards are more a method of control and manipulation than a recognition of merit...these days. The future is unwritten and is not just a continuation of the past. Even today in other spheres like maths and physics that don't always require a large influx of cash, the greatest disciveries are by those who were disenfranchised by their establishment peers...at least initially. Grigory Perelman and Juan Maldacena for examples. Capitalist money ( which the rich print out of thin air effectively through leveraged loans that they pass on the debt to u) has the same effect as these corrupt awards...just a lever of control in a corrupt system that unless u get lucky and breakthrough...will only hurt u. Any genuine talent that cannot be brought or bought to kneel will be seen as a threat to established rentier class control....and squashed.

  • I love Abel so much. I’ve been listening to his music since his mixtape days. I feel like while those records and his more popular ones are masterpieces in their own right, after hours in essence, is a perfect representation of the phrase “beauty is pain”. His pain is so artistically visualized through his lyrics and videos and you can tell he puts a lot of his soul into it. He is such a publicly known mystery in regards to who he is, so much so most can’t tell if these songs are from his Weeknd persona or Abel himself. To which I think is part of his genius. Point is, I don’t think there’s gonna be another like him. XOTWOD
