What's up guys! Today I went over a few things I love and hate about the f90 M5. Hope you guys enjoy and stay tuned for the next one! Might be bringing the Lambo to the channel!

F90 owner here. I changed my pads to EBC red stuff. 98% less noise, 50% less brake dust. $500ish total installed by dealer. Problem pretty much solved. Also, get the LCI taillights.
Carbon cermaic brake pads works...Power Stop works perfectly with hardly any brake dust
How much ate LCI taillights?
Are those pads compatible with steel brakes?

You can get the wheels ceramic coated with dedicated wheel ceramic coating. The brake dust wont stick that much to wheel and basic wash with basic shampoo, will make them look good again.

I have a 2018 F90, stage 2 with VRSF downpipes and a full Frequency Intelligence exhaust. I have the carbon ceramics as well and they're perfectly quiet for me, they only let out a little squeak if it's wet and cold but go back to being quiet. After driving the car for around 5,000 miles the calipers and wheels were barely dirty at all, I had to get up close when I wiped the dust off with my finger to see a difference. The biggest downer to CCBs is when they get wet and cold they pretty much don't work for a few seconds when using the breaks for the first time. That'll make you need to change your pants after getting off the freeway lol. I'm surprised that as a Mercedes guy you didn't mention the backup camera, it's the only gripe I have with mine because BMW has a fixed camera as opposed to Merc. that has it pop out when you go into reverse, so the camera is just dirty all the time. Otherwise, I love mine.
Oh man I did not know you needed to carry spare pants with you for ccbs! Unfortunately the benzes I've owned were prior to the backup camera being hidden so it was always dirty anyway, hence for me I did not notice a difference!

That’s too funny, I just bought my F90 M5 in August too! It’s also my very first BMW, had 4 different Audi’s over the past the past decade. I LOVE my M5 and 100% agree with you, two things I hate about mine are the noisy ass brakes and the Car Play shutting off as soon as I get out of the car!! Love your interior, mine is black on black, wish I could have found one with that brown interior that’s beautiful!

Leave the key in the car and it will not disconnect

Your KEY DUDE. The Key leaving the car disconnects car play. Not really a “problem”
F90 is incredible no complaints
For CarPlay not to be disconnected just leave the key inside the car when you exit and it will work

It's not that people are removing them now, BMW don't give you that B&W sound system option anymore. When I ordered my '22 M5 Comp last year September I could add the B&W sound system option and after like 2-3 weeks I see that option has been removed from their site completely. My car was held up in Baltimore port for almost 2 months for the audio chip to be finally available and installed. Got it a week back and all in all it took 8 months from ordering and wait time is still getting worse
I heard! I found out after about the option being removed. Really wish they kept it, I loved those speakers!
When you get out of the car with the keys the Apple car play disconnects. Fiqured that out on my
Which company did the tune? Also, is it stock M performance exhaust or the regular M sport exhaust?
Currently it’s on a bootmod3 tune. I haven’t done anything custom yet. This is the M exhaust that comes on the Comps stock, it wasn’t added on.
Sounds amazing! What down pipe do you have on it? And what did you do about the check engine light that comes with the down pipes?
I have the VRSF Downpipes and with the tune, I did not get a check engine light. I don’t even think I got one post install in between the vehicle not being tuned and tuned.
Only downpipe or you go exhaust too?
I am planning to get one in august. I am not sure how much is the right price for it. Could you please advise me on both M5 and the competition 2018 and 2019 models with around 20-30k miles on them? Also, your whip looks amazing
Do it! The markets constantly fluctuating and it just varies in so many things but I’d say to expect anywhere between $75k - $85k with that mileage!

The two that were for sale in my area were low 90s for that mileage for those years.

The phone issue is you have to turn off the blue tooth and use a usb connect leave and when you get in or out it will stay on. Wireless tells when there’s no weight in the driver seat and it stops it but if it’s connected by usb and Bluetooth off it will stay on

People aren't removing the Bowers & Wilkins options from their builds. The option was deleted by BMW effective September 1, 2021. It was $3400 and well worth it. I can't get it on my M5 Competition, and it hurts. Just an FYI they've also removed many exterior paint colors, along with the Smoke and Tartufo (yours) interior leather options. Clearly BMW are ready to move on from the F90, sadly.
Maybe I misheard some people but certainly did not know they went away with it! That's sad considering I've wanted an LCI for a while. I was really hoping to have that package on any upcoming M's.
Yeah it's a shame. The LCI looks great, and will resolve your connectivity issues. I waited to order, hoping they would put the Bowers & Wilkins back in the build options. But it was not to be, so I ordered it with some CF bits and the 50th Anniversary badges to compensate. Lol. There are 2021 and early 2022 models with the Bowers in the used market. And, pathetically, the Bowers is still an option in Canada, just not in the USA. Nice video, awesome spec. 👌
Ordered an M8 comp and couldn’t get Bowers and Wilkins or Tartufo leather. I believe supply issues is what the sales manager told me.
I took off each wheel, extensively prepped and ceramic-coated it with Gyeon RIMS, and switched to iSweep 1500 pads. Problem solved.
I’ve been hearing good things about the isweep 1500, I’ll have to look into it!
Endless pads or ebc red stuff Ceramics are nuts
Have a 19 M5C with Ceramics, brakes still squeak a ton at low speeds. Just the nature of them.
Oh wow, good to know! A buddy of mine has a 19 with ceramics and his is far less than mine with the dust and squeaking.
@@myounz Yea dust is definitely not a problem so far. Just low speed squeaking.

I went ceramic and completely stopped the noise
Take it to the dealer for some diag work and if it’s under warranty you’ll be set!

Honestly never had a chance to track it or time anything with it.
the only way carplay wont turn off is if you leave the key in the car. once the key leaves the car, bluetooth disconnects. hope this helps lol.

Exactly. The key fob is a smart key fob that keeps all your settings, your name, seat seatings, ac heat settings, music settings, phone, etc..., so the car distinguishes the driver by the key fob.
This is correct. You can also see it as a security feature. No one can access your phone through car if key is absent.
Stage 2 - what’s involved ? Does it void warranty? I got exact same car
Stage 2 requires Downpipes and then you can flash it with a cable. Yes it does void warranty I believe. Stage 1 you can do without Downpipes and an exhaust.
Just from that, I honeslty think that once the driver steps out it disconnects, might be wrong because I'm not a techy guy, but it's something that I noticed. because everytime you step out it happens
They could have also programmed it for a privacy reasons. If the driver steps out of the car, there’s no reason to leave open access to the phone.
From a fellow f10 m5 owner, I absolutely agree on the things you love, my car has very similar options as yours, but the things i hate the most i agree w you… the brake dust and the phone connection issue, mines a 2014 and i literally go thru the same, if it wasn’t fixed in 2019, im hoping now in 2022 they did.
Wow! See this is exactly what I was talking about. The complaints from F10 owners are very similar. We’ll have to see if the newer ones have a fix!

2021 owner I don't have that phone issues... Love my car tho.. Dammmm its insane m compound brakes are wicked much nicer than my F10 brakes. Opf filter is what I hate about my 2021 M5 but that's getting chopped out

Good video but I’m confused…your phone will reconnect but you’re annoyed because it’s not doing it quick enough? I’ve driven Mercedes and bmw and Audi for life and they are all the exact same in this respect
The CarPlay disconnects because you are taking the keys out with you bro. It’s supposed to do that for security. Why would you want someone reading your text messages in the car after you hop out?
You are right, I didn’t know this at the time. Used to just get annoyed because of my music, never thought of the messages!
If the key leaves the car the connection is lost. Leave the key if someone is inside
2:45 it’s a safety feature, this is carplay it self it has nothing to do with the cat its the same with my vauxhall

Carplay deactivated cause you have the ket with you. Because of privacy. Cause if there were other passengers they can go in trow your phone mate
It is because you took your key outside the car so the phone will disconnect. Try to leave the phone and key in the car!!!

How is it possible that your M is equipped with a sunroof? You can google that none of the 4 versions of the M5 was equipped with a sunroof
Honestly I thought you can get either option. I personally wanted the carbon roof but I bought it used and had to settle.
@@myounzThank you very much for replying M👍 I've already seen the 3rd M5 car, which is equipped with a sunroof. At first, I thought that after the wreck of the M, someone found a regular 5 series and transferred some of the M5 parts to it.
