I’m excited for season three, but still a little miffed that they went out of order. Benedict and Sophie are my favorite and I can’t wait to see their love story. I hope they don’t change it too much! I do have a sneaky suspicion though that they are going to put little things into season three about Sophie and Benedict. Like I truly think they are going to start their story in season three as background characters, but then going to elevate them in season four. At least I hope. For me it will make up for going out of order!
@@SabineHolterman I think they had to go out of order for several reasons, like Nicola maybe wanting to do other projects and because every sibling other than daphne marrying in order of birth sounds a bit cheesy. Personally, I hope that Francesca's story goes after Benedict's because it's so refreshing and Eloise's story honestly sucks.

I mean they're all beautiful people. But with Eloise I can kind of see it - she'll lose the bangs, her makeup and outfits might become a bit more mature. Francesca's actress though does look flawless already.

Yes! It looked like her boobs were up in her neck before... soooo much more flattering and such a good choice.
Same. As a big bust gal, one of the greatest awkwardness of big boobs is never having dresses or coats or blouses that fit appropriately there, unless they are custom made. That they barely fit them on her previous seasons means the glow under effect was in full force. As well as her hair, too Roman. As I have matured, I’ve learned to shop for my bust and I don’t feel awkward anymore. And that’s the goal in the new season; good clothes do wonders.
The costume designers and makeup designers know exactly how to highlight the actor/actresses features when it comes to their season. It's why we feel like the characters always have a 'glow-up' when its time for them to have a romance focused on them. It's completely planned and I applaud the wardrobe team for really making the actors shine when their seasons come up!
This never occurred to me, but it is so true. Makeup, style, and light do wonders.
A treadmill woul have done more wonders to Penelope than just better hair and dresses.

It's not redundant if you look at it from the fact that makeup can make all the difference instead of technicalities. There are enough shows (and films) going on at the moment where tech completely takes over and removes a lot of the 'point' in genuine film. This is a testament to purely makeup, lighting, and costume needed to change the look of a person (traditional, much like the theme of Bridgerton itself)

But I wish season 2 indeed had Kate and Anthony as main leads...due the fact that season wasted the screentime with tons of subplots and secundary characters, making the worse narrative changes of Kate and Anthony arc

As someone who's really into makeup but can't afford it, i love how the makeup was done on the women especially Kate and Edwina. Eloise i noticed got more prettier from S1 to S2 cause of her "coming out to society", her hair looks more different, style away from her face and in S2 her eyes are more noticeable, especially when she falls for Theo, they did something with the eyeshadow i just know it, and it's beautiful
Yesss the main chars always look so luminant. Although I dont really like Colins glow up, I think he looked more handsome before, especially with his stubble goatee. I think they made him look too mature, more like Anthony. I always preferred his boyish charms. And the sideburn, I dont like that :c

Sorry. Have to disagree. Julia Quinn wrote it first. Penelope takes her life in her own hands after she overhears Collin’s words. She has her own money and is old enough to decide for herself. SR is doing a fabulous job with production values, but the story and characterization arcs belong to the author.

that's... not at all the point of the video. the 'bridgerton glow up' refers ONLY to the cast of the show, and its when the production team picks out makeup, hair styles, and clothing that works for the main leads. ofc penelope's glow up is inspired by her book glow up, which is done by her own hands, but the production team is the one who picks out the makeup, clothes, and hair that HELPS make her glow up. don't be dense.

The video is talking about the aesthetics/ visual impact of the show, rather than the character arcs per se. Of course, the two are interlinked, because the visual impact is CREATED to reflect the character arc. But the emphasis in this video is on the former, rather than the latter.

It’s lighting styling and camera shots plus outside promotional press coverage of course they were all beautiful people from the start but I really think it’s mostly the show pays for stylists, groomers and public appearances for the actors prior to and during their featured characters season which makes a world of perceived attraction for viewers.
U might just not see them as attractive people. The glow ups are obvious.

This was a really interesting video. Nicola is a lovely woman and a wonderful actress but I dislike her casting as Whistledown/Pen bc it is just weird that she is nearing 40 making out with a 24-year-old. It just feels cringe.

Wait, but Luke (who plays Colin) is 31? Nicola is 37. Maybe I missed the 24 year old she is making out with? There's only a 6 year age gap between Luke and Nicola, same as there's also a 6 year age gap between Simone (Kate) and Jonathon (Anthony). There's actually a 7 year age gap between Rege-Jean (Simon) and Phoebe (Daphne)!
Hollywood has been casting women much younger than their role forever, giving us and ridiculous situations like actresses being only a few years older than the actor playing their son/daughter, and couples where the actress is twenty years younger but we're supposed to believe the characters are the same age. And this is a problem? Nicola might not quite look 16 anymore but she definitely passes for being in her early 20s and good for her for having the opportunity to play characters ranging from 20 to 40. Also Luke is over 30 so that's irrelevant. In season three, they should be around 18 (although I don't think Pen's age is ever given clearly in the show) and 22 I think and in their book, they're 28 and 33 so I don't see where you get that 24 y-o from.
who's 24? luke is 31. if you're talking about the character of colin... penelope is also around that age? actors play different ages all the time, it's really not a big deal and certainly nothing to 'cringe' over.
