So sad. If your vehicle goes into water, open the windows for escape ASAP. Power windows might work for 30 seconds+ despite the water. Glass-breaking devices won't work on some modern windows. Experts say you don't have time to call 911.

They could not get out of the truck, needed a special tool to break window, get one in case you end up in water!!!

Don’t you wish you manual windows.
You can still get out without the tool. The reason you can't open the doors is because the weight of the water. However, once the car is completely filled with water, the pressure equals out, allowing you to open the door. Right before the last bit of car is filled, take a deep breath, stay as calm as possible as to not waste any express oxygen, push open the door, and swim like hell.
The plan to charge these tolls is one way to close NYC

The Baltimore Key Bridge collapse should be a warning to ALL places that have bridges without adequate pier protection. If ships had quadrupled in size, they could of, at least, require tug escout beyond all bridges without adequate protection before bridge engineers find a solution to protecting bridge piers. An accident like this was bound to happen.

INSIDE A PROTECTED HARBOR ? NO TUG ?
Many of the modern container ships can be steered so well from the bridge (when systems are working) that they no longer require a tug to take them through the port and to/from their slip. I don't know if a tug could have counterbalanced the tremendous weight of that ship.
So the owner of the ship isn't responsible for destroying the bridge? The US taxpayers have to pay for the bridge to be rebuilt? Tax payers should have to be punished for a corporations mistake.

You have a free beer waiting here for you... : ) I'm no structural engineer but after seeing this bridge colapse, it makes me wonder if more pillars should be in place so that the whole thing doesn't fall in and also maybe some boat bumpers out in front of the main pillar like ferry terminals have to slow or protect the bridge prior to accidental impacts like this one. Maybe exhorbing some of the impact prior & also slowing the vessel prior to impact point of contact with the actual bridge. 🤔
Well, being so poorly built, just by looking at the materials the bridge is made out, it's no wonder it collapsed so easily. Although more pillars could have saved more of the bridge, not sure by how much. U got a heavy ship going at fast speeds raming into a pillar, that Shockwave could carry over...Unfortunate that the pillars don't have any protection whatsoever installed with it. And the ship's systems should have been thoroughly checked before they were allowed to be departed, if they were just doing some engine maintenance... there's many things they could have done to prevented this. Let's just hope the lessons are learned

I have been run over by a car THREE times in my lifetime. Ages 4, 7, and 16! It causes the most excruciating pain! It amazes me that drivers often don't pay attention to the people around them. Praying for this sweet dog and the family who obviously loves the dog very much! 🙏🏻
