In today’s video, we’re doing a walk around and overview with this 2023 BMW M5 Competition! This M5 is finished in Alvite Grey over Silverstone and features numerous modifications to enhance both performance and aesthetics. The modifications are as follows:

Hey we know what you meant....youre also thinking old school for flywheel/ manual transmission .😁 That bad boy has got the best top notch torque converter (possibly ZF) and possibly a light flex plate with snappy non restricted actuators with high flow injectors with that insane quick revving. Not cheap at all 😢

@@2JJays yup. Just got an M8 and really want this setup. Downpipes sound so good. I just don’t want to tune the car and if I do fully catless I don’t want to hurt the engine without a tune.
@@nicks1952 look at the short I have on my page. It's VRSF catless downpipes with full straight pipe and custom X pipe. For a straight pipe it actually sounded soo good. Full catless shouldn't be an issues without a tune. I know some cars can overboost but this platform I don't believe has this issues.

With the intakes being right in the grill and no covers on the filters, is there a risk that rain could get into the engine hydro lock the pistons?
I'm no engineer, but I don't think so. These front-mount filters have become pretty popular on F80's and F90's and I haven't heard of that happening yet. Unless you're driving through water that's as high as the filters, I don't think there's any risk of hydro locking. I'd imagine that any rain water that makes it through the filters won't be enough to cause any damage, or will immediately evaporate when it contacts the hotter intake/turbo parts.

@Mr.1337 my state stopped doing emissions testing.. which means one can have the catalytic converter removed... it's also possible to remove the muffler, but that's way too loud even for me. So I'll most likely just find an aftermarket exhaust that's loud enough for my ears. :)

Cool car. We rented a M8 Comp convertible with the same motor and that car was a blast to drive. These have to be nuts with a tune. The air filters on this car seem pretty exposed and susceptible to sucking water into the motor. How do you wash this car or drive it in the rain without sucking water into the filters/motor?
Absolutely, these cars are monsters when tuned. I actually asked the same thing about the intakes, but the owner tells me he drives it in the rain/washes it all the time and has never had a problem.

How did he get a JB4 tune installed? I have a 2021 M5 and the DME can't be unlocked for flash tune unless you send it to Europe. Maybe for piggyback, you can do it in the US.
JB4 is a piggyback, so no DME unlocking required.

Fair question, I'll reiterate my response to another similar question from another comment on this video: Being a BMW employee doesn't afford one any special leniency regarding warranty. If a part failure is caused by an aftermarket modification (i.e. bent rod due to JB4), its repair/replacement will not be warrantied.

Some aftermarket coilovers do let you retain the active dampers. KW Being a prime company for retaining them.
I wasn't aware of that, sounds cool. But still, it's definitely easier to retain factory damper control if you just do springs and keep the dampers the same.

@@bmwofmorristown9038 how do they prove the rod was due to the jb4 The reason I ask is because the m5 cs puts out 730 on a dyno Intake will add 10bhp at most, so don’t spend a lot yet they charge daft money, Champ quartz is an awesome colour Wheels are awesome, so many people buy 869m wheels thinking they are an upgrade but actually they are a down grade. The springs are crap, don’t buy or fit them.

These particular ones are not factory BMW. Although, if you have a factory BMW one ordered, it will fit perfectly, as all OEM accessories do. I was more-so warning that a fair amount of aftermarket carbon pieces (specifically front lips, though definitely some rear spoilers as well) do not fit exactly perfectly, but anything from BMW will.

Warranties aren't necessarily outright voided my modifications. But generally speaking your warranty coverage is significantly reduced by modifying a car. It's a very case to case thing.
