Now I recently received all these tea light candles from a friend who suggested i melt them so i thought why not as I've never seen these ever melted before. HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

I seriously doubt anyone would have an issue if you also made candles. We watch you melt down the same metals over and over, and I think that is a testament to the man behind the camera and the random chaos keeps us coming back for more.

Candle making is class. I have always remelted all the candle scraps since I was allowed to use matches at about 7 years of age. It's creative.

That's a bad idea if your bath is plastic, because they're flammable. All it takes is a stray candle, or relaxing a bit too much and your hair catching fire. My uncle is a retired fireman, and the aftermath of one of those incidents put him off barbecue for months.

Between supplies and fuel cost he probably lost money on this one. What was the aluminum worth at the end? $2. It only works at scale imho.
Maybe if he used electric furnace it would be OK. It’s much more efficient and for aluminium it’s great as it has low melting point .

I started collecting both wax and soap pieces to remelt and cast anew as a Corona hobby. You have no idea how soothing it is to watch this. Great stuff.
As a chandler, I was impressed with the amount of patience it no doubt took to get the wax out of each and every one of those.

I just took 400 lbs (181.5 KG) of bright copper to the scrapyard. Let's say I am pleased with the results. Lol 😎😁

A tip for you Bigstackd- When you are making a sand mold, and you need to pick up the 3d printed coins out of the mold, then it can ruin the mold many times if you pick it up by screw drivers and hand. I recommend to stick something on its back with hot glue and then pick the 3d printed coin out, by holding the thing which is stuck on it with hot glue. This way, the sand doesn't move and your mold doesn't get ruined. Hope this helped....

I don't mind the little arts and crafts in the video. It shows the depth of your skill, and it teaches people to think twice before throwing things out so casually. It will be great to have on display for future melts for October!

Started scraping metal from renovation jobs, either buried in landfill or goes in the back of my truck. Typically scraping copper, brass and aluminum. Trying to figure out if wire is worth the effort to strip. Bare wire is close to $4./# in my area.

It was actually kinda funny that you did the candles....that was the gateway for my interest in your channel and melting metals. I used to take the leftover wax from scented candles and make molds for wax melters & also replace the traditional tealight wax with scented wax.

A nice tip for the candles. If you can, soak the wicks completely through with the wax, let them dry, then thread them through and reapply wax to the ends sitting out. I'm sure you did, I just learned the hard way lol.
