Klaire Fluffle called it the "Fire Emblem Thing" and it wasnt until just now that i realized what she was talking about.
@@CassiusStelarIntelligent Systems did make TTYD and Fire Emblem, and there’s even a fire emblem reference in the OG TTYD game, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they added a smooth batte music transition for all battles!

I was clapping and *almost* teared up. I didn't, but I felt it in my eyes.
Just tears man...I have an 8 year old son who is about to turn 9. I got this game around the same time. I have preordered two copies, and cannot wait for him to have his copy going on his switch while mine is on the tv. To be able to have that experience with him all these years later....tears of joy. Thank you Nintendo, for finally bringing back real paper mario.

The fact this has already has 1.1 million views and so many Nintendo videos can't crack 500k makes my heart so happy. Show Nintendo that good characters, story, and gameplay are what matters, not paper gimmicks. The paper transformations are nice, but they weren't the only focus

Very true to how it was in the Mario & Luigi series, even if we don't get another one of those I'm glad to see that carried over into this.
It's like a mix of Animalese in Animal Crossing and the grunts in Banjo-Kazooie. I love it!

We are now a week out officially, I continually cry when I see this- my grandfather who passed away a few years ago use to love watching me play this when I was only 8 as this is my number one favorite game of all time, I’m now 26 and I’m hoping he’ll still be watching down on me play this amazing remake with my daughter; Thank You Nintendo!
I love how this remake perfectly blends the comic book aesthetic with the paper cutout aesthetic. It looks gorgeous. I hope this is how the Paper Mario series looks in future entries. It’s so gorgeous.

Is the perfect middle ground between TTYD and TOK's artstyles, having paper aesthetics that are not the whole focus of the game. It makes the game feel like one of those books where the characters and background pop up when you open a page, and is so gorgeous!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how absolutely PHENOMENAL the music is in this trailer. It's incredibly faithful to the original while adopting Nintendo's more modern style and implementing live instrumentation Also, I guarantee the final Bowser battle theme is going to go so damn hard

ASTOUNDING and PHENOMENAL aren't even the words to describe it!! But I'm not surprised that the ost sounds STUPENDOUS in the case of the musical talents from "Paper Mario The Origami King" are the ones doing the revamped soundtrack!!

Peak Paper Mario. Honestly, peak gaming period. I was 20 when this game came out. For anyone who's never played it, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. The hilarity of the in-between-chapter Bowser scenes is just top notch.
Especially the part where Kammy and the Puni elder fight. That part was hilarious.
Bowser’s inside story is still the best but ttyd is a close second.

I hated this game so much but I’m going to give it a second try.
I've never cried to a game announcement before, but hearing that little jingle at the beginning just threw happier times right into my face, I can't believe one of my favorite video games of all time is getting a remake.

This game was one of the last games I played with my grandma. She would watch and always point out the puzzles to me probably my favorite game of all time so damn thankful it’s finally getting the remaster it deserves

This is literally my favorite game of all time, even among open world gaming giants. The pure child-like fantasy and comfort that you get from TTYD and Earthbound is unparallel.

If only we could get an Earthbound Trilogy Remaster/International release. The Links Awakening and/or Pokemon: Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl style graphics would work so well for the series. I am sure it would be too controversial and challenging to clear legally for all regions, but a man can dream.

@@ThatOneGuy-qw1xx He was talking about how most ppl disliked the Oragami King battle styles. I dislike it myself but it doesn’t bother me if some ppl like it. It’s just a preference. But Mario and the Thousand Year Door is superior.
@@PurplePuppyV I thought Origami King’s ring was decent for regular enemies but the bosses were just as horrible if not more so than in Sticker Star and Color Splash. But you can’t beat TTYD’s battle system, which is fun because of how simple, fair and customizable it is.

I DO like how you fight bosses in oragmi king however. I must admit the boss fights are fun. I mean no offense to anyone.
This is unequivocally the best Mario game to me. I remember being so enthralled with the dialogue, the chapters' tonal shifts, the crazy mechanics.. Oh and the entire tournament arc with your scrappy Yoshi that changes color based on the time you spend with his egg. Dang. This game.

The updated graphics are gorgeous, but I'm also so, so happy to see that everyone looks like they're supposed to. As an older player, games like TTYD are a place of comfort for me, so characters not being replaced or restyled too heavily honestly means a lot to me. It literally looks like if the original game just happened to be made 20 years later with the exact same art direction.
There's no gross white sticker outline like from sticker star, color splash and origami king which I was afraid they'd do so thankfully they kept it faithful to the original
@@brianv9242 This one definitely comes down to taste, but agreed. I definitely prefer the flush cut of the earlier titles, and it's another of those details I'm glad isn't being arbitrarily changed.
I just hope that backtracking in this game is easier than it was in the original. Don't get me wrong, I've also spent many hours with this game in high school, but the backtracking was just awful at times.

Every paper mario fan and new fan need to buy this game because we need Nintendo to realize that we want these type of Paper Mario games, not Sticker Star, Color Splash or Origami King.
i think about this game every few days. i have surgery coming up soon with tons of recovery time just laying in bed, i really hope this game will come out before then. ive replayed the gamecube version since 2004 at least once every couple of years. its my go-to game. my wii broke down a few years ago so i ended up selling my gamecube games including ttyd, and i miss playing it so much. i found bug fables and its amazing but i dont revisit it as much (i just finished bug fables for the second time last year). anyways i love this game and i love you creators and i love you person who decided to read through my ramblings, i hope you have the best of days! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was the first game that I ever stayed up past midnight playing. A huge part of my childhood. Thrilled for this
Same this was my most played GameCube game and to this day probably the only game I've replayed start to finish at least 4 times.
Absolutely worth being a game you stay up past midnight for. I did the same and then got to the spooky cursed chest and promptly decided it was bedtime, since I was so young, hahaha!

When I was a kid, super paper Mario was the first game in the paper Mario series I got to play, as I never owned a GameCube. I can’t wait to finally experience TTYD!
Anyone noticed how in the Glitzville juice shop, you can see through the window now & can see Poddler cleaning up the dishes? 😍 I love these new animations.
My grandmother bought me a GameCube when it first came out and this was my most heavily played game. She since passed away and the GameCube is all I have left of her. Nintendo is tugging my heartstrings with this remaster. Cannot wait to revisit memories I had with this game.
All the characters getting unique sounds for there text boxes makes me extremely excited to hear how the other partners will sound like.

The die hard fans recognized that jingle and book almost instantly, I screamed the second I saw it. I am so happy this is finally coming back!
My heart soared seeing that book again, all the childhood memories of playing this game huddled around a tiny CRT TV with my little brother came rushing back. I'm so happy to see this game again and literally nothing is going to stop me from getting it.

Sm rpg was a fun and entertaining storyline that mixed Mario humor with a sense of Squares epic fantasy setting.

I never thought we'd see the day that Nintendo remembered this game. I'm beyond hyped to play Thousand-Year Door with such a fantastic new coat of paint!! Hopefully this could mean a return to form for Paper Mario in the future.
Everything from the music to the fantastic variety of characters to gameplay to the story is peak Nintendo RPG greatness.
Crazy to read how many people say this was their favorite video game. It is still my favorite to this day as well and I'm so happy to see it return. I wish everyone out there so much fun with this game, no matter if you're a fan of the original game from 2004 or you get to know this gem for the first time when it's released. :)

@@nya55155 Pokémon is one of the biggest parts of my life and the franchise in total is definitely more important to me than Paper Mario TTYD alone, but no single game beats Paper Mario TTYD. :)
Ironic since the original TTYD was the 2nd lowest sold game in the Paper Mario series. Even Stick Star outsold it and that game was trash. Funny how more people played it through emulation than on actual GameCube hardware.

This game spawned my 11-12 years of fanfiction writing from the 8th grade to nearly current day. The characters, the settings…I can’t lol. It’s that much of an impact on my life. Such a powerful game

I'll buy this game 3 times. One digital to play minute one, one physical to open and stare at it, and one physical to keep sealed and maybe get it rated.

This actually brought me to tears. TTYD is my favorite video game of all time and I discovered it during the roughest time of my childhood. I've probably played it over 30 times and will absolutely play the heck out of this. Thank you so much, Nintendo. This is truly magical.

Genuinely the best gaming experience of my life was playing this game as a kid. I cannot recommend a game any higher than this one, it's truly a masterpiece

Y'all I almost started crying in the middle of my shift. This is my absolute FAVORITE game of all time and it absolutely had a hand in shaping my sense of humor.
What's your occupation? So I can either imagine a crying baker or a doctor giving a sergury and being like "OH MY GOD PAPER MARIO" and accidentally deleting their patient mid-sergury.

I’ve been crying all day at this. It might seem ridiculous but this game means absolutely everything to me To elaborate: TTYD was my first video game experience some 20 years ago, I still have the original copy, and I’ve replayed it every 2 years or so since then. I’ve played it a good 11 or 12 times.
the turn battles arent very creative like ogk, CS, SS in my opinion. it looks boring and bland i rather they stick with the new combat system moving forward. thats what made paper mario so great

It’s been a long time coming, and my heart skipped a beat when I heard the first few notes of the intro song. I cannot wait to experience this story again, I have replayed and completed the original on my GameCube literally 6 or 7 times!
I can definitely imagine people having a heart attack if Nintendo releases a remake of say... Mother 3? I'm still waiting for that.

If they don't tamper with the script, I do think this game writing still holds up. Especially nowadays. Despite being a kids game, there's a lot of dark writing for adults.

Nintendo is killing it lately! This is one of my favorite games of all time. I haven't played it since I was 17 and I am now 35. This is almost too much, I'm so happy right now.
I'm glad they're doing this for the game's 20th anniversary. Can you believe that this game is almost 20 years old? I can't... it's still one of the best things I ever played.
If that's part of the marketing, than they might not release it until the second half of 2024. The original was released in July of 2004 in Japan, October in North America and the UK, and November in Europe and Australia

It's a good RPG, that's it. Xenoblade games are 1mio times better for example and origami king is a better paper mario.

I remember playing this and the N64 Paper Mario with my daughter. She was so little that she couldn't read so I translated and acted out all the characters for her. She laughed at all the silly lines. Bowser is the true star of this game. I loved his sidescrolling sections. The battle system is so good too. I especially loved the train and wrestling chapters.
I wonder if she'll play this with you.
I used to play this game with my dad a ton. I was young so it was really tough and he would help with the more confusing or difficult moments

It seems to be nothing more THAN an HD Remaster than a remake since they don't appear to be changing anything about the core game, which is a good thing.
@@deafidue5535 I would call a complete graphical overhaul and redone soundtrack to be a remake. It would be a remaster if they just upped the resolution and put it out on Switch, but I do agree it's good they aren't changing the gameplay from what they showed

I have a couple of wishes for this remake: .1: A built-in Luigi game based on his Marvelous Compass adventures, like how the Superstar Saga and Bowser’s Inside Story 3DS remakes included built-in Bowser games. .2: If Mario’s HP hits 0 while his partners still have remaining HP, the game still goes on until every single partner’s HP hits 0. So, if an active partner dies while Mario’s dead, the partner menu shows up and you can choose which remaining partner you’d like. .3: The TTYD Remake getting better sales than The Origami King.
